No cable tv!! Horrible pots & pans!

Manager's response to fixing the cable [Xfinity] tv was minimal....stayed 4 nights and issue was NEVER resolved. The pots & pans in kitchen were disgusting. Literally, both teflon fry pans were so severely scratched that they were unusable. Gas fireplace only started 50% of the attempts.Older property needs lots of attention! Beware that amenities [i.e. cable tv & ice maker] are NOT part of this condo.

Good condo, great location

Condo was perfect for us. The living room had an optional partition that is great for privacy of anyone sleeping on the couch. The 2nd bathroom was a huge bonus. Location was amazing. Bring your own shampoo, laundry detergent and coffee

Disappointing experience at a property with great location

While we appreciated the location and some of the amenities at the property, there were a few issues that detracted from our overall experience. One of the main reasons we chose this property was because it advertised two full bathrooms. Unfortunately, one of the showers did not work during our stay, leaving our family of five with only one full and one half bathroom. We brought this to the attention of the manager the morning after our arrival, but it was not addressed until the day we were leaving when a plumber finally arrived. Additionally, we found that the property looked and felt quite old, with no sense of care or attention from the owners. The dishes and silverware were mismatched, and the blankets didn't fit the beds properly, giving the impression of cut-up pieces of cloth. We also noticed that the dishwasher had not been unloaded before our arrival, which was a bit disappointing. Lastly, we were disappointed to find that the grill advertised in the pictures on the balcony did not work due to a lack of gas. While we understand that it may not have been advertised as an amenity, it still felt a bit misleading to see it in the pictures. Despite these issues, we appreciated the property's location and some of the amenities. However, we would suggest that the owners consider making some updates and improvements to the property to ensure that guests have a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Good Condo in Village

The property was just as described. Having the extra bath for the kids was nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Easy walk to the Village, just across the street from the Sonnenalp hotel.

Great Condo in Village

Was a great condo for our trip. Could use some updates, but with that comes a higher price. The condo was just right for us.

Great location

Great location - easy walk to Gondola One and Vail Village. Property is a bit tired and could use some updates, but it’s true to the photos. We had a few issues with the property including no hot water in one of the two bathrooms and a broken lock to the sliding door. However, I didn’t call the property manager to inquire since it didn’t bother me too much.

Great location, few inconvenient issues.

The shuttle took us to the gate of the well kept building which is very well located in town, but because I had not checked in yet (no available way to do it), I didn't have the gate code to gain access, so we were left at the gate with all the bags in order to walk thru the parking and then get into the building. Once inside, I called to the phone number listed at the door for check in, but nobody answered, so I had to look into my mails for another number. When I called, I was told that I had to go to the nearest opened office which was half mile away (302 Hanson Ranch Rd), so with the in-town transportation not operating, I had to take a walk. The employee at the counter was a little uncourteous when I told him that walking 0.5 mile to check in after a long flight was quite unconffortable. The unit was in good conditions; however, I found some hair in one of the bathroom's sink. The kitchen is quite small but everything works fine, so it is good enough for cooking if desired; utensils and silverware are quite poor. The two most unconfortable issues have to be with the BBQ and some men working (hammering, drilling, etc) since 7am until 7pm on Monday; we called Vail Realty 4 times to complain but nothing happened until my friend went to the apartment right above us and asked the workers to stop. The person at Vail Realty did not want to provide the number for the property manager. Later on, we found out that the apartment where they were working is also administered by Vail Realty, so I guess we got a good picture of how they wanted to handle the situation. Last but not at all least, has to do with the BBQ available at the balcony, I tried to use It to make some steaks, but when I opened the gas valve I heard gas escaping and gas odor was imminent, so I immediately closed the valve and then tightened the regulator flare nut, I opened the valve again and I couldn't hear gas escaping or smell anything; however, because I am extra cautious, I went to get a wet sponge with soap and for my surprise, the hose was still leaking at the clamp (I have pictures just in case someone asks), so I had to say good by to the bbq in order to avoid an accident and used the two pans available.

Nice location, a little bit dated for the price, overall a good experience. Heat or turning down was not an option as it was what came out when it came out- we roasted at night and it seemed to lower about 2am- not a oroblem as we slept with the door open but hated to waste energy.

Great location, lacking in other ways

The location is very convenient, right by the fire station on the edge of Vail Village and is walking distance to everything you want in the Village. The place itself has aging finishes, the beds are very hard, and was there was no air conditioning! This was not communicated at all in the listing or beforehand. They leave a couple of big fans for you which does help, and fortunately it gets cooler at night in the summer, but it was uncomfortable during the day and we certainly could have used air conditioning at night- or at least a heads up before booking that there was no A/C. I also had an unpleasant experience dealing with management when booking, as I got one price quote from Vrbo and from management, then was told it would be higher from management because of a cleaning fee, to which I asked for more information because all I had seen was the lower quote. They replied saying they would wait to charge me and get back to me, but the next day they went ahead and charged me the higher amount without reaching out. I called their office and spoke to someone who was very unapologetic and could only tell me "billing just put it through". I followed up and never got any more information or an apology. All in all, the place was definitely worth the location for the low price, especially for a few twenty-something young men who aren't too picky, but was certainly lacking in a number of ways.

Great location, but disappointing unit.

The location was very convenient, but the unit and management were lacking. The sleeper sofa was too uncomfortable for adults to use, so we put the mattress on the floor for sleeping. Shower temp in second bathroom was tepid, so really had only 1 1/2 baths. Complained to management company three times during stay about this. No laundry in building at all, so had to drive to laundromat on I-70. Overcharged considering all this.

This located near the center of Vail but 300 ft of the main street behind the fire station. So it is quiet and all of Vail at your door sterp.

Could have been so much better with a little effort.....

I have rented many condos over the years for a variety of group sizes. Villa Cortina is a good location if you want to ski out of Vista Bahn and walk easily around town. The unit itself with two full baths provided one bath for me and another for my two daughters. The large bedroom had two queen beds which was great, though they were hard as a rock with rubber pillows. One daughter slept on the couch. She was very uncomfortable when the couch back was folded down to provide a platform as it was unstable with a large divot down the middle, so she slept with it in the couch position. Extra sheets were provided. The unit has fresh paint and new carpet. Bathrooms and kitchen have been remodeled though there is only counter space with two stools to eat from.....no stand alone sit down dining table. The furniture was early college frat house with a pressed composite fake wood no knob dresser in the bedroom. For $350 a night I would have expected drawer pulls.....really...how cheap can you get? There are two nice sized flat screened TV's but the way they have them plugged into the outlets leaves no where to plug in your phones and laptops unless you want them in the bathrooms. Request power strips or bring your own! The WiFi drove me crazy as I could not keep it plugged into the kitchen outlet....a little duck tape did the trick....yes I always carry duck tape. This is a very functional condo in a great location. It has a simple gas fireplace and old awful curtains. There is a tiny outdoor deck with no view. Go to a hotel if you want luxury and romance. This condo is great for a small family who eats out a lot and skis all day.

Disappointed

If we came her in the 70's, we probably would have been impressed. No views, carpet is dirty, beds and linens are right out of the 70's and we are afraid to sleep in the unit. There isn't any patio furniture. We have stayed in other places in Villa Cortina before and they were wonderful. The place just looks tired and is in need of updating and cleaning. They could certainly use more than six hangers in the closet. Glad that we aren't here long and that we don't need to spend very much time in the unit. You get what you pay for certainly rings true here - wish we would have paid another $50/night for a better unit. Wonderful location in Vail Village though. Close to restaurants.

Great Condo....EXACTLY What Was Promised!!!

My wife and I came to Vail for a getaway in early December. This condo looked really nice from the photos, and it was even BETTER! The staff at Vail Realty was attentive to our every need. The TV's were great, the internet was fast and simple. We will definitely stay there again! Thanks for the trip...Ski You Next Time!
