About this property
Loft in the Zoo • Premium downtown apartment!
Welcome to Loft in the Zoo! The ideal space for anyone traveling to Kalamazoo and looking for a central location.
Within walking distance to Kalamazoo's best restaurants and bars. Blocks away from the famous Bell's Beer Eccentric Cafe, historic Kalamazoo Mall, original Gibson guitar factory, Kalamazoo Beer Exchange and more!
We welcome you to our clean and unique, solar-powered 1500 sq ft apartment, with ultra-fast fiber internet.
The space
We are a husband and wife team – the space includes stylish modern furniture that inspires us. It's designed to be the perfect stay for small groups and families.
When you walk in the door, you will be welcomed by a very open, light-filled space. This main area has a big TV, fully-stocked kitchen, eat-in counter with four stools, and a dining space.
On the other end of the apartment you will find two bedrooms both with King beds, and two full bathrooms both with shower and tub. There is also a laundry area and access to our private outdoor alley with seating and a fire pit table.
Our unit is also eco-conscious, it is solar-powered, helping us pivot towards sustainable travel.
Our location offers the vibrant energy of diverse city life, however, please keep in mind that being in the heart of the city means you’ll experience the full range of urban sounds as well as the elements that come with city environments.
We lived here for years before listing it on here and had no issues. We loved living here, but it’s not for everyone. If you are uncomfortable and sensitive with city noise or seeing homeless individuals or anything of the like, please refrain from booking.
We suggest that you don’t walk around after dusk. Traveling by car/bus is recommended after dusk. Read more under the “Neighborhood highlights“ section.
Guest access
You will have full access to our downstairs loft space. It is entirely private and separate from the upstairs apartment that is located in the same building. The upstairs apartment is occupied so please be respectful as they live there.
There is a key pad lock to enter the building and another key pad lock to enter our downstairs loft space.
Other things to note
Pet fee: $50
If you are traveling with your dog, please make sure to abide by these rules. The large rug that is located to the left of the refrigerator is the designated place to keep your dog's food and water bowl.
There is a square patch of grass located outside in the alley way for your pet to pee and poop. Please remember, you are responsible to clean up after your pet.
If your pet should have an accident inside, please let us know. There is a cleaner under the kitchen sink as well as some cleaning towels so if it is left unattended or there is evidence of a mess, you will be charged a cleaning fee. (Do not use the guest towels to clean up any accidents!)
ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES!!! No smoking! Do not move any furniture. Please make yourself familiar with all of our rules.
Please kindly refrain from booking if you are uncomfortable in an urban environment. Our location is usually fairly busy, and you may encounter homeless individuals in the area. We want to ensure all our guests have a pleasant stay.
