Stay for a wedding

Great House!!

We had a great stay at Scargo Vista!! We had a group of 8 adults with 3 small children with plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is a highlight of the house - fully stocked (even had martini AND margarita glasses), dining for 10, gas fireplace and spacious. The bedrooms were clean, beautifully decorated and had comfortable beds. The grounds were beautiful, including a firepit and the location had a view of the ocean (binoculars provided!) and was close to Dennis center. I would highly recommend a stay at Scargo Vista and look forward to returning soon!

Fabulous property!

The house is absolutely stunning, and well appointed. Plenty of space to spread out, or be all together. Great proximity to beaches, restaurants and a darling market in the city of Dennis. Would definitely book this house again when we come to the Cape.

We spent week away at the Cape at this wonderful location. Everything was very clean. It is less than 10min from Mayflower beach. Trash pickup happened early and on the expected days. Definitely will visit again.

Joe is a fantastic host and he spared no detail in the design of the home. If you think the photos of the property look great, know that it’s even better in person. Location is quiet and private and centrally located on the Cape.

Another great stay!

We've repeated another wonderful vacation with friends in this roomy and beautiful newer home. It's one of our favorite go-to places in the fall. The kitchen area has lots of windows and is huge and open, with a large kitchen island + stools, a dining table for 10-12 people, and another sitting area. Six adults had plenty of space to be together (or not!) while cooking and board-gaming, and the rest of the downstairs area has smaller group seating areas to pursue individual interests. We took advantage of the outdoor stone patio with dining table/seating (and grill) during the warmer days. The bedrooms are beautiful and private, and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. We made use of the fire pit in the afternoons to stretch outdoor time. Our host, Joe, was great as always!

We visited with our friends - in total we had 4 kids ranging in age from 22 months to 9 years old. The house was perfect; plenty of space for everyone. Great entertainment space both inside and out. The house was very clean and the hosts were fantastic! Cannot recommend this enough.

Top Notch Rental

Where does one begin, this house is just top notch! You walk in and and your vacation begins. The house has all the amenities and more; so comfortable and serene. Joe, was amazing, when something came up or you had questions, he was there. Truly, I can't say enough about this home and Joe. If you're looking for a place to relax and vacation with your family . This is the house to rent.

Perfect Getaway!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! There were 6 of us, and we all found it relaxing and spacious, both inside and out. There was room/space to spread out, do different things (or nothing !), and then regroup at the end of the day to make dinner together in the very large kitchen/dining space with plenty of seating. The outside has beautiful distant water views, and the area was perfect. We took advantage of the continued good weather (took walks on local trails, went to the beach on mild days, and explored local shops). This well-kept property also has two outdoor patio areas, again, plenty of seating, and a fire pit. The host, Joe, was wonderful and quick to respond to an inquiry we had. A great experience all around!

PERFECTION

We just returned from Scargo Vista and it was as wonderful the second time around! We are very grateful to Joe for opening his beautiful home to those of us who don’t own a home on the cape but enjoy vacationing there. Everything about this house is top notch and the location cannot compare with other homes we’ve rented in the past. We love the privacy and seclusion it offers along with how quiet and peaceful it is. It is so convenient to everything and very easy to get to anywhere on the cape. My little grandchildren absolutely loved our first visit which is why I rented it again. As we were leaving today my grandson asked if we would be returning to NAWNEE’S HOLIDAY HOUSE soon? Lol If Joe will have us, WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK ❤️

So much room!

If you’re looking for big accommodations, this is it! There were 6 adults and 2 children (3yrs and 7yrs) and we had so much room. The end of the building that looks like a barn is where a very large kitchen is. The farmers table is long with 8 chairs. The center island is L shaped with 4 swivel chairs. 2 love seats with recliners in both in a corner. Big screen tv over fireplace. This is where we hung out all the time. It’s massive! Plenty of beds for everyone plus 3 full baths and a half bath so no one had to wait for showers. Great outdoor shower for when you get back from the beach. The house is endless for space. The air conditioning was very good. No window units like so many other rentals. I’m a stickler about that. My whole family loves this house. All hardwood floors, so no musty smell. Yes there are a lot of stairs, but even my daughter with a broken ankle and using a walker managed. Location if fabulous. We stay in Dennis because of Mayflower Beach which is where we always took our 3 daughters when they were little. Now our two grandsons enjoy it. It’s near 6A with ice cream nearby, a market where we bought everything. Very quiet neighborhood. We will be back, I hope, soon. Thank you, Joseph, for letting us stay in this beautiful home.

Happy Home; Happy New Year

Our family enjoyed our reunion at Scargo Vista immensely. The home offers spacious accommodations that allow both gatherings and tri-level separation that give privacy & separation when needed. The large bedrooms contain comfortable beds & cozy linens, & in winter, plenty of lightweight warm blankets. The kitchen / family room area is ideal for permitting simultaneous assembly; people could work on separate projects without bumping into each other. The dining & seating availability is more than adequate. One could almost just live in that one room until sleeping time; whoever designed the house understood that families being families, most love separate spaces for kids and adults; Scargo Vista delivers that, too. We had areas to leave puzzles out on broad surfaces; spots for kids to watch TV shows & play Nintendo games; a lengthy path for a New Year’s Eve parade for a 6 & two 8-year-olds; & places for arts and crafts, and chess games, and sugar-cookie decorating. The non-kids could enjoy adult conversation in a quieter location. The kitchen is well-supplied; shopping is not far. The refrigerator & the stove are large; there are a wine cooler & laundry. Most people would love this much counter real estate in their homes. The area is quiet, yet this beautiful home is well-located. The grounds offer lots of parking. Everyone frolicked on nearby Mayflower Beach even in winter. The group walked to Scargo Tower for expansive ocean views. The views from the house are also lovely and one can see the ocean — most calming. The Edward Gorey house is just down 6A and two children, though horrified, eagerly participated in the Hapless Children scavenger hunt. At Scargo Vista, an excellent notebook lists numerous restaurant and activities’ suggestions. The one caution we would advise is that anyone who cannot navigate steps should not stay here. Joe Baker is an excellent host, who afforded us the privacy we needed to enjoy our family time; however, he was instantly available with answers when we had a couple of questions, and when we had a request, he was quick to respond. Access to the house was a breeze. We highly recommend Scargo Vista as a Cape vacation home and will gladly return if our group chooses the Cape as a reunion location again.

Great house but….

If you’re looking for a big house to accommodate 8-10+ people this is a great place if everything is working. It allowed for plenty of space for 5 adults & 5 kids. The Air Hockey game was put to good use. The landscaping, and neighborhood are top notch. However the yard is not conducive to playing wiffleball, toss a frisbee, etc because it is backed up by a dingle and there is not enough space w/grass. I can not give it 5 stars because too many things were problems during our 5 day stay. Joe took care of most of them. The outdoor shower didn’t work, he fixed that; the A/C went out for several hours. I texted him and he told me there was a button on the bottom that restarted it; (there should be a trouble shooting guide in the booklet that could use more details); Internet was not good, very spotty and stopped working the last 24+ hours. I didn’t say anything because by that time it didn’t matter. One TV froze on one channel and never “melted”. The refrigerator needs replacing or a major overhaul in my opinion. The ice maker hardly worked and the interior temp of the refrigerator is not as cold as it should be. The wine fridge was not working. There was a lull in communication with Joe for several days. I had some questions re: check in and a couple of other things but he didn’t respond until the 3rd request because he was out of town. The check in was not good I’m sorry to say. I never heard anything from him 2-3 days prior to, right up until the afternoon we got in the house. Fortunately for us, we went to the house as the cleaners were finishing up. They gave us the code to get in and left the doors unlocked. He never checked to see if we got in or had any questions. I emailed him twice the 1st day/night (no response), then texted and he did respond. He came to fix the shower the 2nd day we were there. I feel he could be a lot more “hands on” prior to and during the day of check in, especially since we had never stayed there before.

Fabulous Vacation

Our multi-generational visit to Scargo Vista was everything we expected and more. The pictures do not do the property justice as everything exceeded our expectations. The location was great being close to the beaches, Scargo Tower, and some great restaurants. There was plenty of room for our family of 8 + small dog to spread out. Joe promptly responded to our questions prior to arriving and we had no issues once there. Over all a fabulous vacation!

Excellent family vacation home

Lots of space inside and out so we could all retreat to our own areas when we needed. Great landscaping with mulched areas for dogs. Clean as a whistle, not a spec of dust, which really helped my relative with lung condition. Can’t recommend highly enough!
