Situated within the gated Amelia Island Plantation (AIP), our oceanfront villa 1012 Captain's Court is the perfect location from which to explore the sprawling 1,340-acre community. Easily walk next door to the Omni Amelia Island Resort, tucked within the AIP, to dine at one of their oceanfront restaurants for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Rent bikes or a golf cart and go cruise around to see all the lagoons, playgrounds, golf courses, or to visit the shopping village, with additional dining like Falcon's Nest, Marché Burette, or Bob's Steak & Chop House. You'll be surrounded by maritime forests, tidal salt marshes and pristine, sandy beaches.
Walking up into 1012 Captain's Court, the open and spacious living room immediately draws your eye to the large windows and ocean views. The renovated kitchen features quartz countertops, updated cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances and can seat 6 at the dining table. Access the first balcony off this dining space and enjoy the ocean breeze and rustling palm tree.
Taking the stairs up once more, the second level has a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and another bedroom plus a separate bathroom with a tub/shower combo. One of these bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has a bunkbed and twin. The Primary Suite on the upper level includes a king bed, large closet, and loft with a sitting area. Just across from this primary bedroom and also enjoying ocean views is a flex space, which offers a remote workspace, a trundle bed and access to a large balcony.
All of the bedrooms, as well as the flex space, have TVs, and the entire property has high-speed wifi, with extenders ensuring strong signal and connections. There is a second remote workspace in the living room to the right of the main TV.
Golf is available within the AIP at Oak Marsh or the Little Sandy short course. There are multiple other great courses on the island as well and tee times can be scheduled online.
For families, the closest playground is Aury Island, although the walking and biking trails weaving throughout AIP are truly a hit for every age.
When you're ready to explore the island outside of the AIP, take a scenic drive north on A1A to the Fernandina Beach Historic District, a charming seaside village with lots of history. Here you can find unique boutiques, shops and many dining options. If you drive south on A1A instead, visit coastal nature preserves like Little Talbot Island State Park, which is known for its easy biking, hiking, kayaking, and birding opportunities.
Please note that this property does require guests to traverse many stairs and is not suitable for those with limited mobility. From the parking lot, there are more than 40 stairs on the way to the property's entry. Once inside, there are small sets of stairs separating each level, as depicted in the property's photos.
Also, if coming in the spring or summer, we recommend bringing only one car whenever possible. The free parking lot has limited spots and it can be difficult to accommodate many vehicles.
