About this property

Enjoy nature and get away from it all!

Welcome to Double Eagle Lodge located remotely in the heart of Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula. Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life with a trip into the great outdoors. No cellphone reception or Internet connection allows you to relax in the quiet of nature. This quaint log cabin is located on the shores of Long Lake. Though the lodge is 13 miles from the nearest electricity source, the solar panels and back up generator charge the battery bank to give the comforts of home while preserving the natural sounds of the surroundings. This log cabin sleeps six total, with four single beds in the loft and a queen size bed in the private bedroom downstairs. The cabin is equipped with indoor plumbing including a flush toilet and a shower, as well as a fully functioning kitchen. There is a separate building for the propane fired sauna and a second shower.

With the exception of the owner’s cabin there are no other cabins on the lake. Long lake has excellent fishing with Walleye, Bass, Perch and Northern Pike, which are the most predominant fish. If one is quiet, there are plenty of wildlife to catch a glimpse of such as moose, deer, bear, wolves, coyote, beaver, otter and many birds – including bald eagles nesting nearby. If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing, one can paddle up and downstream until beaver dams are reached. One can hike, mountain bike, swim, snowshoe, and snowmobile all day and may not see another human. Finally, at the end of the day everyone can relax sitting around the fire pit watching the sunset and roasting S'mores. Once the fire dies down the night is truly dark with no influence of city lights. The stars are incredibly clear and bright!

Available on the property for your use are 2 kayaks with paddles, a paddle boat, and a fishing boat! What else could you ask for.

We love the Double Eagle Lodge

If you want to re-connect with the nature and to take a break from the busy and hectic everyday life, Double Eagle Lodge is the perfect place just for that. The lodge is situated off the grid and by a beautiful lake; you can go fishing or swimming, and the owners provide a complimentary paddle boat and a row boat. The lodge is very clean and well maintained. This was our fourth visit to the Double Eagle Lodge, and we cannot wait to visit it again!

Double Eagle September Stay

The property was everything that was advertised and more. Our only disappointment was that the fish weren't biting - at all. But that's not the property's fault. That said, we had a great time. A special callout to the caretaker Clay. He answered all our questions and was very gracious and engaging.

Top notch wilderness vacation

This is a wilderness vacation with indoor plumbing. We didn't see another person or hear a vehicle for our entire stay. Aside from a couple jets flying over it was completely silent. Clay the caretaker went above and beyond what was expected to make our stay that much more enjoyable. We will book it again

Beautiful place.

We enjoyed this very private and secluded place. It was a perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Fishing, kayaking, and playing board games was so fun. It was a slice of heaven.

Quiet serenity

What a visit, spent most of our stay fishing and we were spoiled with how many fish we caught from monster bluegill to aggressive pike. The fishing boat was great and equipped with a livewell, and the kayaks were awesome for exploring down river. The cabin has everything you would need and felt far from roughing it while still maintaining rustic charm. Aside from the caretaker Clay we didnt see another person during our entire stay. Very peaceful and great way to reconnect with nature!

Great place to enjoy nature's beauty

Double Eagle is a great blend of untouched natural beauty and the creature comforts that make your stay comfortable and accommodating. Owner is very responsive and the care taker, Clay, is very helpful and always great to talk too. The cabin is filled with "Cabin Charm" and there are endless opportunities to fish, hike, view wildlife, spend time, on or just looking at, the lake, or enjoying the sauna. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape the hectic pace of modern life.

Perfect Getaway

The cabin, the woods, the lake… it was all beautiful. This was the perfect location for my family and I to disconnect from our electronics and create some beautiful memories. The cabin kitchen was well stocked with the pots, pans, utensils to cook some great meals. There was also a board game in the cabin that we really enjoyed playing in the evenings.

Another amazing stay!!

We love the peace and quite of Double Eagle Lodge. This is our second time staying here and hope to come back in a few years. We spent most of our time fishing on the boat and also used the kayaks a couple days. The Wilderness kayaks were very comfortable. Was able to use with my 4 yr old sitting in front of me. We caught tons of northerns, some large and small mouths, a few small perch and bluegill...None of us wanted to leave as it was such a relaxing trip. The cabin had everything we needed and would definitely recommend.

So peaceful!

We absolutely loved our stay at Double Eagle Lodge! The cabin itself was very well appointed and had everything we needed so we didn't have to go into town for anything other than groceries. Directions were very thorough, which was extremely helpful since service drops out completely a couple miles in off the main highway. Laura sent this info and various other details before our trip so we had all the info needed prior to our arrival. The caretaker, Clay, also checked in on us after we arrived to make sure we were good to go. We cooked meals, kayaked the lake, read stories from the U.P. book, played games on the screen porch, had campfires, and marveled at some amazing sunsets. It is THE spot if you want to recharge and disconnect but still have the comforts of indoor plumbing, a comfy bed, and a roof over your head. Sure, the bugs (mosquitoes and flies) were bad at times, but it was July. Bring your bug spray arsenal, wear long sleeves and pants, and plan your time outside in the summer accordingly. The screened in porch at dusk and a campfire in the evening helped immensely. Overall, our stay at Double Eagle Lodge was the favorite stop of our trip across the U.P. We will definitely be returning!

Exactly what i was looking for

This place is very secluded which is what we were looking for I HOPE THIS PROPERTY STAYS THE WAY IT IS there were no other people in the area other then logging crews. Beautiful area, fishing was wonderful, kids enjoyed catching fish they have not caught before. The mosquitoes were very bad but it was definitely a bad year for them. This place is located in a place where you can find many waterfalls and things to do within an hour or 2 drive. The cabin is very well taken care of and clean. This place offers a lot of fun or relaxation. There is no cell service until you make it out 13miles to the main road which is great and the kids lived through it lol. Next time we visit it will have to be longer already miss this place definitely will be coming back and sending friends to experience this wonderful place.

Beautiful hide away!

We loved our stay here! The cabin truly is a great place to “get away” from the busy everyday life. Our family was able to fully enjoy the quiet, beautiful land! Lots of hikes and playing in the snow! We also enjoyed the wood stove in the cabin with games and reading. Thank you!

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting.

For those who want to get away from it all, but still have some luxuries like lights, indoor plumbing, and a sauna, the Double Eagle Lodge will definitely hit the mark. A classic cabin in a remote location; it truly makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
