The "Little Cabin in the Woods" overlooks a private pond on five wooded acres, only 2.5 miles from Talkeetna's many activities and attractions. The main floor features a full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave), dining area (table with four chairs), living room (sofa bed, gas fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player), and full bathroom with combination tub/shower. The second floor features a queen bed, twin trundle bed and chest of drawers. The cabin also has a large front deck with chairs, and a small back deck. We do not charge a cleaning fee or take a security deposit.

Intrusive property owner

Property owners showed up unannounced and demanded more money. He said Verbo did not pay him for additional guests and that I owed him — not Verbo(whom I already paid for additional guess) an additional $200! So I ended up double paying for my stay

Cozy Little Secluded Cabin

Want to be off the grid for a bit? This place has got you covered! Truly feels like you are far away from humanity in your own little cabin free from today's technology. Think DVD player. The grounds are stunning and it is a joy to walk around the area. The perfect place to connect with your friends and enjoy one another's company without any distractions. Wood burning stove made things extra cozy! Only drawback is the musty smell that you notice right when you walk in, but thankfully you get used to it quick.

Great location to access Denali - less than 3 hours drive

Cabin was rustic, clean and we got to see a nest of Robins feeding their young…the only thing we didn’t like was that it had an odor (not sure if it was the septic or mildew)

Nice place, not fully accurate in online description

The property is gorgeous, Cabin is super cute. There is NO WIFI, TV needs updating, kitchen should have measuring cups, scissors, and dish towels. The pillows 100% need to be replaced, the couch is very uncomfortable. We LOVED to property, would rather just use the lock box to get the key instead of having to stop at the office, paper to help get a fire started was not there either.

Gorgeous grounds! Great cabin.

We found it hard to connect with the manager to answer questions and get directions. There are not enough details on this on the site. More communication in the day (s) prior, as on other sites would truly be helpful. Don is wonderful in person tho 😌

Peaceful

This was a perfect cabin in the woods just minutes from the main strip of Talkeetna. At check in, we were not sure what Talkeetna was all about, but driving through the street, we knew we picked a good spot. The cabin was close enough to get to the main strip quickly, but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. The property was also far enough away from others that we wouldn't have been able to hear anything from a neighbor either, just the relaxing sounds of the beautiful Alaskan wildlife. The cabin itself was just what we needed. It didn't have wifi or cable, but that was exactly what we were hoping for, a break from our busy everyday life. It was clean and well kept and had the amenities we needed for our visit. Thanks for the stay. We hope to see you again in the future.

Quiet and comfy

Private and peaceful spot. Not too far from town with all the amenities needed. No Wi-Fi but you could hit spot without too much of an issue. Lovely spot. Would stay again

Excellent and clean cabin.

Close to town but doesn’t feel like it. Very clean and new construction. The water flow is a little low. Don’t flush the toilet before the shower. The listing says WiFi but there isn’t any. It’s down at the office a couple of miles away. Cell phones work but no data. Plan accordingly. We loved it. Don took great care of us.

Great Getaway!

The cabin is super cute and situated on a beautifully landscaped property. It was overall pretty quiet and very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have wood provided for the outdoor fire pit. A real gem of a place that we plan to visit again. Thank you to Don and team!

Perfect getaway

The cabin is off the beaten path in the country. Very clean and comfortable. We cooked there and even had to go into the creek running behind the cottage to retrieve a football. Don was very accommodating. We slept four people comfortably-ages ranging from 15 to 80.

Perfect little cabin for a getaway!

It was a perfect weekend getaway. Nice and quiet out of town and Don was an excellent host. Would definitely do it again!

Don Devore was one of the original Alaska 59ers who traveled by motorized wagon train to Alaska in 1959 to homestead in the rugged wilderness, five miles north of Talkeetna. Homesteading was tough but rewarding. Don's family learned self-reliance, and survived on the barest of necessities. Families and friends grew close, helping each other in hard times and sharing what they had.
