Conveniently located in the center of Northern Michigan on large Otsego Lake, Golf Mecca and Snowmobile Haven. This is a place where memories are made! Large home and guest house on 4.5 acres. Main house has 6 bedrooms including girls and boys rooms with 4 couples rooms and sliding glass doors to the water. Kitchen, living room, dinning room and loft with fold out bed, 2 decks and porch. The guest house is 3 bedrooms with complete kitchen, living room and deck. Includes WIFI. There is an additional fee to include the guest home please inquire for rates.

Otsego Lake is a large 2,000 acre lake. With a state park, marina and gas available. Gaylord, the golf mecca has 15 championship courses designed by golf's greatest. Winter brings an average of over 152 Snowbelt-centered inches of the white stuff each year. We are sweetly situated for epic snowmobiling, Nordic and downhill skiing and snowshoeing. Gaylord has many great festivals for all seasons as well as boutique shopping, spas and a central pavilion full of entertainment and farmers market. Gaylord's geographically gifted position smack dab in the center of Michigan's norther lower peninsula offers the state's best base camp for any outdoor pursuit. With easy access to trail networks, river systems, lakes, parks, ski resorts and big wilderness spaces.

This is a special place

The property is gorgeous and the views of the lake from the house are picturesque, to say the least. The house perfectly accommodated our family and had all the amenities we needed, and then some. It was the perfect place for our family to celebrate a quiet and relaxing Thanksgiving in northern Michigan. Our host was very accommodating and excellent with communication. This is a special place and we were so fortunate to be able to spend time there. We hope to come back again in the future.

Gray Family Vacation

We stayed here for the third year in a row and already have the property booked for a week next summer. Everything about the property is perfect for our family. From the huge windows overlooking the gorgeous Otsego lake, catching frogs and tadpoles in the pond, the large number of comfortable beds and bedrooms to house our large family, sunset campfires on the beach... nothing but incredible memories were made. We can't wait to come back next year.

Canadian Thanksgiving 2022

Renting this property was a breeze. Dealing with Karyn was great. She was very prompt in her replies and hence our decision to stay at this beautiful serene clean spacious resort was very easy. The house and guest house is well equipped, you name it and you find it in the house, be it linens, utensils, appliances, everything. The house is so spacious, the view is breathtaking, the sunrises and the sunsets were gorgeous, the washrooms were well provided for and what more can I say, it was well worth the 6plus hours we drove up to live at this beautiful getaway that we happily called home while we were there. Just simply amazing. Highly recommend renting this place for groups of all sizes. Summer would be the best time to stay here.

Perfect for making memories with loved ones

We love this home. It is perfect for our large family, offering incredible spaces for us to be all together while still giving us space to spread out when needed. We rented last summer and already have it booked for next year. Peaceful and serene, we can’t wait to go back.

A lake house, for lake lovers

Not perfect, but perfect for our family. It might not have everything you want, (air conditioning), but it has everything you need (lake breezes, and fans). From kitchen appliances to lake toys. A comfortable cottage, great for large gatherings, and making memories.

Perfect Family Holiday

Great property for a large family gathering! Our group (up to 27 at the max) was aged 2 to 79 and we had a wonderful time celebrating Xmas and New Years here. Karyn was very easy to work with and quick to respond. The ability to rent the additional guest house was also a big plus. We cooked many large meals and gathered by the fireplace every evening to warm up and play games. A wonderful start to 2022.

Amazing family memories

Great Family Vacation Spot

We had a great time, the house was well suited for our party of 27 people. We enjoyed the quite and relaxing time just sitting by the lake around the fire pit. It was nice to be within minutes of town if you needed something, but yet far enough from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the peace and quite. We took a drive to Petoskey to do some site and it was a nice little day trip. The owners were always quick to return any questions we had. As renting during the quarantine, the owners were very understanding with everything and payments.

Beautiful "Up North" experience

Beautiful property. We booked a LARGE family at Christmas-time. Bunk rooms and extra cabin suited our needs perfectly. Home and property were beautiful. Owner was prompt in taking care of any issues (large snowfall just before we came, with tree down over driveway!) It was taken care of before the rest of our group arrived.

Great place for everyone

This was our second time staying in The Legacy with our kids and grandkids. It is spacious, clean and comfortable and located in an area with no shortage of activities. We’ve only been here in the winter and have enjoyed ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiiing. The house is perfect for a group like ours with ages from baby to teenager. Karyn is very helpful and readily available.

winter house

We were 13 members of a family and the set up for the house was terrific--with 2 wings of bedrooms off of the living room and kitchen area. Plenty of hanging out space. Only 2 complaints: The extra cord of wood I paid for, arrived dumped in a heap by snow (no covered area) and was mostly green--took forever to catch on (not owner's problem-buit maybe she should look into new provider. Both refrigerators were filled with leftovers (including frozen hot dogs and old ice cream)--we had a hard time fitting in the fresh food we had brought for the week. We were told we had to bring all food supplies.

Four generation family vacation

This lake house is amazing. We (4 generations, ages 3 - 75) had a wonderful week there in August. Had everything we needed or wanted. Lots of room for everyone, beach area and swim area was great for the kids. The boating couldn’t have been any better. We really had good fun around the fire pit - singing, somores, hot dogs and enjoying the night sky after the kiddos went to bed totally exhausted from a good day in Gods beautiful. Creation. We have already booked it for next year and looking forward to another visit.

Great house! Great Location!

The cabin is set up perfectly for large groups. It was large enough to accommodate our sleeping and dining needs but at the same time remained cozy and warm. Communication with the owner was excellent before, during, and after our stay. I'm already looking forward to a return trip.

This property easily accommodates large numbers of people, 27+. The location is central to anything and everything although you will likely never want to leave the premises. There is plenty of room and several acres to give you a lot of privacy. The state park and marina are very close which also offers many amenities as well. Perfect for family reunions, golfers paradise or special retreats.
