About this property

Waterfront Lake Winnipesaukee cabins on private sandy beach with dock

Who wouldn't want to spend a week or two on one of the largest, cleanest most beautiful lakes in NH. The property has 3 cabins, of which two are rented as a pair (the other may at times by occupied by the owner on the weekends). The beautiful beach and grass yard area will provide you the perfect family vacation. Each of the cabins has two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom with shower and a screen porch. The nice level lot leads right out to the private sandy beach with no outdoor obstacles such as rocks, stairs or cliffs. Our beach is certainly one of the absolute nicest beaches on the lake. Situated in sandy Melvin Bay, the sand cascades from the beach and into the water as far out as you can walk! The water gradually becomes deeper which is perfect for children, grandparents and everyone in between.

This property is perfect for anyone that is looking for the sun all day since the property faces west. The sun comes up over the trees in the AM and stays with you all day until you have front row seats to a stunning sunset! For our guests who prefer some shade, you may want to bring a beach umbrella as there are few trees along the beach.

Also included is the use of our 40' dock with prior approval and description of the watercraft you will be docking (dock adequate for boats up to 22'). Use of our 12' aluminum row boat, canoe and kayaks with plenty of life vests on hand is included also. The water is currently approximately 40" deep at the end of the dock. Water depth cannot be guaranteed. The dock is sturdy and has no problem securing our 22' inboard boat.

There is also a marina with boat rentals just under a mile away!

Stellar vacation location
Phenomenal location on the lake. Love the sandy beach and warmer water bc shallow bay. Lots of great hikes nearby and very quiet and peaceful location. Cabins were very clean and perfect for lake vacation. Lots of fun toys to use like kayaks, paddle boat, row boat and sand toys. Perfect family vacation spot!

Great location- so good we’re going back again!
This is a great property. The two cabins made it comfortable for our two families to vacation together. (Cabins are well equipped and a bit rustic, matching the pictures, but that’s part of the charm!) The sandy beach and the fact that the water doesn’t get too deep until you’re way out made for a great spot for our kids. Access to the kayaks and paddle boat was a total bonus. You’re close to towns worth exploring if the weather is lousy and the sunsets are amazing! Owners were awesome and very responsive to any questions that came up. Our vacation was so good, we’ve already booked for next year.

Fantastic family getaway right on the beach
My group of 7 included two children 6 and 8, 2 grandparents in their 70s and 3 adults in their 40's. You cannot beat the location of the cottages a 25 - 50 yard walk from the water - the beach is lovely and soft sand -- highlights were waking up and walking 50 yards with a cup of tea to enjoy the morning light on the lake, evening campfire, outdoor dinners, kayaking, taking a rowboat ride to the small island nearby. Super close to castle in the clouds, many hikes, miniatture golf, and wolfeboro -- went to all of those too. The cottages are rustic but extremely clean with all the amenities you need to make good meals. One thing we didn't read about but would have been better to understand in advance was that the bedrooms in the cottages do not have ceilings, so there is no sound privacy (though you can shut the door to the rooms and have visual privacy. Tonya and Jay were attentive and friendly -- and we had a wonderful visit! Highly recommend for a big group!

Nice Escape
We had a nice time during our stay. The cottages are basic but extremely clean. The owners have their cottage on site as well..closest to the beach. The owners are there on the weekend if you have any issues or questions. The beach portion is great...clean clear water which was extremely warm with powder soft sand. It was not secluded in the sense that there are people on either side of you..a private home and a campground. There is no a/c and so the cottages are in the 90’s during the day and evening. It cools off at night but is very uncomfortable on hot days. I suggest bringing an egg crate for the beds. They are extremely hard and uncomfortable. They do not have cable television .... Netflix and Hulu but there was no way to sign in to your own account so we couldn’t watch Hulu...only Netflix under the previous tenants account. The tv in the Hideaway didn’t work and unfortunately ..we told the owners and they didn’t do anything other than say it was probably time for a new tv ....and they don’t have a modem in the hideaway so the first day when the tv tuned on..it just stayed frozen and couldn’t get a signal and then it wouldn’t turn on at all. I would definitely bring beach chairs...there are some there and the owners are really nice and let you use theirs when they aren’t on the beach too. We will miss the amazing sunsets...and carefree days.

A Great Week!
We rented the cabins for a family reunion. They were terrific. Jay went out of his way to make sure everything was ship shape. The beach is sandy and one of the best on the lake. There were 4 Kayaks available which we used quite a bit. The 2 gas grills were used often as well. Looking forward to our next trip to “Sandy Shores!”

Great for family gatherings
WOW! I wish I owned this place and could come to this quiet, peaceful, clean camp/beach on a regular basis. We booked both cabins for our annual "sisters trip". There were 6 adults and 2 toddlers along with some visits by my nieces/nephews during the week with plenty of room on the pull out couches. Being footsteps to the beach was a huge convenience with toddlers and the beach/water/sunsets are just gorgeous. We brought our jet ski and were very happy we did. Be prepared for hot days and cool nights in the cabins (bring extra blankets, fans, etc). We visited Wolfeboro one day to see the World War II museum and Lone Wolfe Brewery and both were amazing - the town is great for walking around on a cloudy day. We made the mistake of going north one day towards Moultonborough and that town does not have as much to offer. It was so great to bring in all of the food we needed (there's also stores close by for things you forget) and have all of the utensils and cooking options at our fingertips in the cabins, including grills and a fire pit to toast smores. There was also plenty of seating with nice picnic tables and chairs for sitting on the porch or outside and enjoying the breeze. We loved our stay!! Thanks :)

Excellent-- accommodations, location , weather and beach toys
Cabins were neat and cozy, and in chilly mornings m, the propane heaters were just right,'m. Kitchens were well equipped and beds comfortable. Would have appreciated bath mats. Also, rain drainage from new septic installation left grass marshy on arrival after heavy rain but it dried and owners say they are working in improving the landscaping.

Both cabins are exactly as shown in pictures. Sunset on beach is beautiful.
Property perfect for combined family/friends to vacation together but have own cabin. We brought our kayaks, and small boat.. plenty of room on beach and dock. Owners very nice, warm and welcoming. Cabins clean and stocked with cooking, dishes, silverware. Everything you need for a week at lake. Wonderful week can't wait until next year!

Why they chose this property

After renting cottages year-after-year on many of the New Hampshire and Maine lakes, our goal was to one day have a lakefront property to call our own. Our dream became a reality in 2017! Having young children, my wife and I were looking for a property to balance our outdoor/lake interests and a safe place to create memories for our family and friends. This lakefront property is PERFECT!

First, Lake Winnipesaukee is one of the largest, cleanest and most beautiful lakes in the area. The abundance of towns and restaurants with public docking also helped to solidify our decision that we needed to be on THIS lake!

Secondly, this beach is certainly one of the absolute nicest beaches on the lake. Situated in sandy Melvin Bay, the sand cascades from the beach and into the water as far out as you can walk! The water gradually becomes deeper which is perfect for our children, our grandparents and everyone in between.

Third, what is a beach vacation without the sun? We have no idea because the property faces west - the sun comes up over the trees in the AM and we get to enjoy it all day until we get to watch the sunset right in front of us (sipping cocktails).

Fourth, we wanted a place to get away from our busy work/city life and experience the greatness that the New Hampshire lakes region has to offer. These rustic 1950's cottages are picture perfect - simple and well maintained....the way a NH lake vacation is supposed to be!

I could go on and on....but because we have three cottages on our property, we are able to provide you the opportunity to come see why we LOVE this property for yourself!!! Please send us a message and we hope you create memories to last a lifetime here as well!
