Everything was great apart from a few minor inconveniences and missing supplies. Location was perfect for our large group needing multiple places in the same vicinity

It’s close to everything yet quiet
The place could use a deep clean and repairs done. Communication needs to be improved.
There were 7 of us there attending our daughter's wedding. There are 5 bedrooms and twin beds set up in the living area downstairs. There was plenty of room for all of us and it met our needs. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck in the evening.
The towels in the upstairs bathrooms left something to be desired, but we had read about the towel situation in previous reviews so brought several of our own, which helped. We didn't use the hot tub, but would have needed more towels if we had. The hot tub looked nice!! It was clean and looked new. We all wished we had brought bathing suits to enjoy it.
This isn't a super high-end, luxurious property, but it is spacious, clean, and met our needs for the weekend. Check in at the Discovery Lodge hotel was easy, and the clerks there explained that we could use the hotel amenities (pool, hot tub, continental breakfast). We didn't do that, but knowing we could was nice.
All in all, this was a good property and we have good memories of staying there. Would stay again if we needed that many bedrooms.
Had family getting married right in Stanley Heights. Could not beat location and process for us. Wonderful weekend

Decent, could be better
Tried multiple times to contact the property manager and couldn’t get a hold of them. We didn’t have WiFi the whole time we were there. The front door didn’t always close the front door. When checking in still couldn’t get ahold of anyone. Sat for a long time trying to get ahold of the manager until I decided to walk around and see if doors were unlocked that’s how we got
In. The property says 6 bedrooms but what it doesn’t tell you is the 2 twin beds are actually part of the living area downstairs and not it’s own room so there are only 5 bedrooms. It worked for what we needed but was disappointed by the way it was handled. Also when we got there the trash outside was filled and we couldn’t throw trash away and one of the windows upstairs had a break in it when we got there.
Great stay! The house was clean and the neighborhood was really nice. Had everything we needed. The only difficult part was checking in. We did not know where the manager's office was to get checked in. Other than that it was a great experience

Our daughter’s wedding in Estes
We liked the house. Lots of room. Found the management company hard to communicate with. Their phone went into a nighttime voicemail during the day. Didn’t seem to be around to answer the phone. It was the Discovery lodge. We needed more towels and toilet paper and had to call to get the trash can outside emptied on our first day there. They eventually did take care of all our concerns but it took several calls. Overall, we liked the place a lot. Great location.
Great location for our family weekend getaway. Lots of room for all of us and elk in the yard! Great stay!!

The biggest complaint was that the TV wasn't working. We called to have it fixed, and 2 gentleman showed up to "fix" the TV. They said they couldn't fix it. However, on the way out they grabbed my nephew's handheld Game Console, his Switch.
Luckily my nephew saw them and ran out the door after them. They pretended to not hear him and my dad yelling at them. My nephew ended up having to taking his switch out of the guys hand to get it back.
When we called to let the office know what happened, they didn't even know who they sent to our house. They sent a second guy to "fix" the TV. He had to open an account to get the TV working, which made us wonder if they even ever had an active account.
We had called the office for more towels and never received them.
At check in they tried to charge us again for the cleaning fee and dog fee that we had already paid through VBRO.
We also experienced a strong cigarette smell throughout the house that was an issue for our family with breathing issues.
We did notify VBRO about our experience.

Family fun!
Nice and roomy. Location to town is very convenient. Could use a frying pan and sharp knives. TV never was working with poor response from management about problem. Would have liked to watch world news!
While the building itself is dated, the interior appointments are upgraded and very nice. It has a full kitchen upstairs with fairly new appliances. The frig is really roomy, the dishwasher worked great. The heating system in the house is up-to-par for keeping you warm in the wintertime.
We didn't use them, but there is a clothes washer & dryer just off the kitchen. It is a dog friendly house and we brought two with us. Large yard and adjacent areas for them to walk.
We were a group of six for two nights, with ten more visiting for Sunday to celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary.
The total price was on the high side, but for six adults and two dogs, who knows.
I would recommend the use of this house for those looking to get away, but be close to downtown and of course the
Stanley Hotel, just .8 miles away. A nice walk if you would like to get the exercise.
This house was great. Had everything we needed. The only thing I wished I had was some kind of fry pan. Plenty of pots but nothing to make eggs in. Overall a great place to stay.
We have rented many times and this was a better experience!
It kitchen could use a few supplies
A set of steak knives
A couple rubber spatula
Skillet
A few washcloths to wipe counters and table
More then 3 trash bags
No propane for grill or fire pit
The beds were good and bathrooms we well stocked
The views breathtaking
An excellent choice for multi-family gatherings. LOTS of sleeping space and bathrooms. Beds very comfortable. We were 2 families with 3 kids under age 5 plus two grandparents. And we didn't use all the sleeping spaces.
Big main kitchen - very well equipped with more than enough dishes, flatware and lots of pots and pans. Everything in working order. Another small kitchen in the downstairs unit, but no stove there. Extra frig space great.
Decor was a bit dated and nothing fancy, which was fine for us because of then not feeling that we had to be hovering over the kids all the time because of breakables.
We were only there for 4 days so did not use the washer/dryer, which were small (apt. sized) so don't plan to wash lots of linen or towels, but fine for small loads of clothing. Outside deck (needs some maintenance but is safe) with beautiful views which we used a lot. Great gas grill in working order. And the owner had recently furnished the deck with lots of chairs so we could all have sitting space if we wanted, in addition to the table and chairs outside for eating.
We were there during quite warm days (mid-80s) but the evenings cooled off very quickly, so no AC was never a problem. Beautifully cool at night. Windows all had screens in good condition, so no problem having windows open at night.
A 5 minute drive to Safeway and town - probably a 20 minute walk, and you have to walk on a main, busy road, which is why we chose to drive when we had the kids with us.
Quite private at the end of a dead end street. Lots of space for car parking.
And - the elk who visited and had dinner in the front yard was an added bonus!
A very good choice for lots of people to stay close to town and Rocky Mountain Park.
We knew that the property was not new and needed updates. We knew some pictures might not reflect the property accurately. But, we also knew it could accommodate our large group (6 adults, 2 teens, 4 kids) and was a good location close to RMNP.
The house has many positives. We rented both floors, meaning we had 5 total bedrooms and 7 beds plus one working couch bed. It was clean. The kitchen has been recently finished and was mostly well stocked.
But we had several frustrating issues during our stay. Number one is that the dryer simply did not dry clothes. We were counting on having a washer and dryer. They were both small, which is fine, but we would put a load of socks in for an hour and they would still be completely wet. We called the office several times, and, presumably, someone came out to fix it. It still did not to work. We were told to put fewer things in the dryer. We did this, but it still did not work. We ended up simply hanging up all of our clothes inside or out on the deck. Not the end of the world, but frustrating, especially with three different families staying.
Another frustrating aspect of the property is the deck. One reviewer had already commented that the pictures showed many chairs as well as a fire pit. When we arrived, there were 3 chairs on the deck and no fire pit. No fire pit with the dry climate and a wood deck seems understandable (but don’t advertise it in pictures, please), but having 3 chairs on a property meant for 12 plus people is simply ridiculous. We called the office, and they delivered 5 or 6 plastic chairs. Still not enough for our whole family, but better than 3. The deck itself is another issue. At one point, the leg of a chair went through the wood with someone sitting on it. The wood is rotting and is a a huge safety hazard. Perhaps the reason for only 3 chairs is to discourage people from sitting on it.
Another safety issue occurred when I plugged a lamp into an outlet downstairs in a wall with wood paneling and it started smoking. The cord was completely frayed. I was very glad it had been me plugging it in and not one of the children. What a terrible fire hazard.
Suggestions:
-update your pictures (some furniture in pics is NOT at house) to accurately represent current house
-replace leather couch upstairs- it AWFUL and bed inside broken
-kitchen needs reorganizing (ex. 12 champagne flutes but 2 wine glasses, pastry cutter (?) but no carrot peeler)
The manager at discovery lodge was rude not getting not to us but to other customers. Poor communication prior to our stay and after. Not given information about how to check out, we left a message but was never returned. Discover lodge tried to change the price significantly after we were already booked. Had to get Vrbo involved. House needs upgrading, needs new carpet. Beautiful area.
Very nice, clean, large and close to everything. Management was very helpful and nice. Gave 4 stars for Accuracy Of Listing as showed a porch fire pit/chimenia but did not have one.

Family time in Estes
A little disappointed with check in. Previous occupants late checking out. Interior of property was great. Exterior is getting rough. Plenty of room for the 11 of us. All the things we needed for an enjoyable stay. Elk visited us on several occasion which the grand kids enjoyed. Overall a great week.

We loved the layout, all the rooms and the decks were great. The location spectacular. The checking was a little slow and some things need some work but it worked for us. We had a child graduating in Fort Collins and we spent the day there and then rented a party bus one night so the grad and friends could spend the night in town. We had 22 year old to 88 year old and it worked for everyone.

Pretty good
Our stay was pretty good for the price! Customer service was great. The house is not super updated and is right off the main road, but we didn't mind. Great views and close to the park and downtown. We would stay here again. If you looking for a fancy cabin, this is not it. But this is a clean VERY large home that fits A LOT of people and has plenty of refrigerator space and accommodations for a large group!

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the location and spaciousness of this house the minute we walked into it. There's a lot of natural sunlight upstairs and the 6 bedrooms makes it a perfect house for entertaining.
