Pond-Front Passive Solar Architectural House
Welcome to this beautiful 2br house right on Horseshoe pond, only a 50 minute drive from Boston!
When not kayaking or fishing, enjoy fun activities on the outdoor patio, dock, firepit, relax on the hammock or swim in the pond!
The upstairs has 2 bedrooms and the main bathroom. All rooms in the house have beautiful water views! One large open concept room downstairs containing living room, sitting area, kitchen, and dining table
The space
This environmentally conscious custom A-Frame house was built in 1984 by a WW2 Hero Phil Peters and his Architect Wife Dolly. Phil received a Purple Heart and was at the Iwo Jima Flag Ceremony. The Peters’ built the house with the environment and nature in mind. The passive solar cylinders provide extra heat during the winter, two tunnels connected to the pond that bring in cool air, and the iconic triangular exhaust throughout the house that increases air flow!

- The architect intended the bedroom walls to be open as well, so that the heat and venting efficiently from the lower level travels throughout the house. In this house, you don’t have to shout to reach someone in their room.

- 1950s typewriter for guest book!
- Kitchen supplies (enough plates, bowls, utensils for 12 people, French press, kettle, knives, convection oven, powerful electric stove, new stainless steel samsung fridge, large microwave)
- 2 Large couches suitable for sleeping (IKEA KIVIK) and a Day bed suitable for sleeping (you can move the ottoman to create a long bed!)
- Smart home features (lights, digital assistant, digital lock, door bell cam, nest thermostat)

- Cornhole, 2 recliner chairs, 2 tailgating chairs, 2 ice skates (size 8, 10), Spike Ball, beach towels, fishing rods, and extra outdoor table all included in the closet!
- Garden with perennial flowers (bloom early spring)
- Fisherman's Paradise! Year round fishing (carp, bass, mackerel etc) - stocked by town of Merrimack
- Pond freezes around December for ice fishing and Ice skating
- Lots of interesting wild life (beavers, birds including bald eagle, turtles, turkeys, etc). The beavers love to hang out right by the house in the water!

- Merrimack Premium Outlets (3 min drive)
- Lots of hiking trails near by like Bensons Park, hiking trails in Hudson NH or copper door
- Close to wildcat falls, fall mines, Parlee farms, Kimball Farm Miniature golf and adventure, Pheasant Lane mall, 3 minute drive from anhauser Busch factory
- Restaurants Buckley steakhouse, Cottons, Hanover ChopHouse, The capital Grill, Tripoli Pizza, Oak Craft Pizza, fancy that tea house
- 10 min drive to nashua shopping area (all big box retailers)
- Groceries and Mcdonalds within 2 minute drive
- Skiing( 25 mins to Mcintyre Ski area, 45 mins to Pats Peak, 1 hour to gunstock, 47 min to Crotched Mountain, 1 hour to Wachusett, etc)
*We do have a pet fee for extra cleaning required. $150 for 1 pet. $200 for 2 pets. More than 2 pets must contact us directly. Please pick up after your pets. WE will charge excess cleaning fees if pet waste is left inside or outside of the house.
Guest access
Guest have full access to the house and backyard. There is a detached garage (completely separate building) unit (owner unit) that is not part of the rental
Other things to note
Since the house is on water near other neighbors, the noise carries easily. In respect of the neighbors, there is a strict quiet hour policy starting at 10pm outside. Guests must be inside after 10pm
