Had a very nice stay. Robert was very nice. Did enjoy the hot tub but we didn’t explore the woods. It rained all day for couple of days. The house was just like it said. Clean and spacious.Would like to stay again. Thanks for your hospitality.
Robert was very kind and welcoming. The house was comfortable and nice. We loved being able to invite other family members for brunch and had a great time.
We stayed here for our daughter's graduation weekend and it worked perfectly. We had plenty of room to spread out vs. staying in a hotel room, and it was easy to get back and forth from campus.

Quiet and peaceful, just what we needed to slow down
We really enjoyed having a place off the beaten path. The fire pit and hot tub were both very nice. The accommodations were clean and Robert provides a fully equipped kitchen. I hope to stay there again during another season.
Absolutely love the house and property! So beautiful and relaxing. Rooms all very spacious especially the master suite. We are definitely returning. Thank you for sharing this home Robert!
Our group absolutely loved our time at the Elm House! Our group of friends reuniting together for the weekend enjoyed all of the amenities on offer, especially the hot tube! The house was very spacious for our groups and fully furnished with everything to cook and grill within the house. We were also impressed by the amount of towels and linens available for our stay. The hot tub robes were a nice bonus too! Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the woods around the property, but the whole area looked beautiful. Also within close distance to Oliver Winery and Bloomington to explore either! Would highly recommend this property and we would stay there again!
I sent something just a few minutes ago. It was a splendid two days, just to fast!

Country Retreat
This is a lovely home for a family or group. We really enjoyed the deck and beautiful master bedroom with balcony with a beautiful view of the property and trees. There were so many birds and listening to them and watching them was so peaceful. We also loved the surrounding woods and hiking available from the property. The house is simple, but clean and has everything you would need for a relaxing getaway.
We had a great time at Elm House. A group of 7 moms escaping for the weekend. Went to Nashville for the day. House was equiped with kitchen supplies and bathroom towels and was very clean. Plenty of seats for everyone to sit and enjoy our time away.
Our biggest regret was not getting out on the trail behind the house!!!
The house is spacious and set in the woods. Hot tub is large. Walking trails out the back of the property was a quick jaunt and fun to travel. Our teenagers enjoyed going to Lake Lemon, a 7-minute drive from the house. A winery was within a 5-minute drive. Note: cell service is quite limited in the area. All-in-all, an excellent place to stay!
The house was very clean. I had plenty of space for the 7 of us. The worse thing was the distance to Nashville, In and the road to get there. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay and don’t want to leave it is the perfect place to stay.

Great family setting
Very clean and spacious home. This is our second year celebrating our Thanksgiving here. Because of the time of the year we are unable to take advantage of woods and trails. I think it would be a great place in the summer. We did enjoy the hot tub though. Nice equipped kitchen to prepare our thanksgiving meal. Conveniently located to Bloomington. We hope to make it a family tradition.
Robert has worked so hard to create a peaceful, relaxing place...inside and out! He provides so many little things that you might not realize that you need until you get there...like Kleenex and a fan! It is truly like staying in a "home away from home"! We loved that the hot tub is open to the sky to watch the stars come out at night. And we enjoyed the screened enclosure, where we were able to play games until bedtime! We definitely hope to return! It would be GORGEOUS in the autumn!!!
Property was adequate but very far off the beaten path. Could not get uber service and very dark winding roads leading to property. Just be aware as I would not want to make this drive in the winter.
House was older, but was clean and off the beaten path. We enjoyed our stay. There was a little too many special rules, that made the stay a little uneasy. And a high cleaning fee, when you are expected to do much of the cleanup yourself. That said, we did enjoy the property. Bob would respond quickly thru text messages, would answer within a few minutes. I would recommend it to others.

Nice Place
We took our annual girl trip which includes our 88 year old Mother, 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. Found our home clean and comfortable. Had a well stock kitchen as far as kitchen utensils, dishes and pots and pans. We enjoyed watching movies in the evenings. We did not try out the hot tub or fire ring as it was very hot while we were there. Nor did we venture out and do any trails due to the heat. The Elm House met all our needs and we greatly enjoyed our Girl Trip this year.

Peaceful home on 100 acres with hiking/hottub/wineries nearby
We had our annual girls' weekend here (5 of us) and really enjoyed it. Robert is very accommodating. When we got lost trying to find a winery, he gave us directions on the telephone. The property has three short maintained hiking trails, a hot tub and a beautiful winery within five minutes drive! The only negative is that the listing says the three bedrooms have queen size beds, but they are actually a full size. That made it a bit uncomfortable for two women to share two of the beds. Other than that...it is very peaceful!
My family lives in Ohio and we meet up regularly with friends who live in Illinois. We split the distance and find places to stay in central Indiana. Our kids are 9 and 6 so we look for places that lend themselves to outdoor adventures. This has been one of our favorites. There are many well-marked trails on the property, streams good for exploring, and a few "nature observation posts" (hunting blinds) to climb. in addition, the laserdisc collection was outstanding. We were able to show the kids the original Star Wars movies as they were before Lucas started tinkering with them. The 9-year-old is also recently obsessed with the 1960s musical Camelot and did a dance of joy when she found it in the library. Amazing.
The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking. The hot tub was appreciated after some long hikes.

Spacious and clean country setting
We came into town for a family reunion. The owner was gracious and allowed an early check in. The house was clean and spacious. It slept eight of us comfortably, with handicap access on the 1st floor. We even had additional guests over on our second night, and there was plenty of room for all of us in the large living area. We enjoyed a family movie on the big screen TV the first night of our stay. We loved the large collection of laser disk movies. It was an unexpectedly cold weekend in April, the ample fire wood around the fire circle allowed us to enjoy a nice bon fire the second night, and some even braved the hot tub. It was obvious the owners take pride in their property, they left detailed instructions for everything in the home. We would have loved to walk some of the detailed trails the owner left, but our time was short. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property as the last parcel of the original farm dating back to the 1860s. It is now part of our 103 acre managed forest. Enjoy your stay with access to the forested trails, wildlife ponds, birdwatching observation towers and still be within easy driving distance of all Brown and Monroe counties have to offer.
What makes this property unique
Enjoy all that nature and the surrounding communities have to offer during the day and a relaxing hot tub in the evening followed up by a movie on the large screen TV, listen to your favorite music, or just visit with family and friends.
