FREE Park+Walk Dntwn! Famous 1918 Historical Stay

The location couldn't be more ideal! Just a short, delightful .5 mile stroll takes you to historic St. Augustine, where cobblestone streets lead you to charming shops, delightful restaurants, and unique ice cream parlors. No more parking headaches, as you can now explore the city at your own pace.

Our historic home, built in 1918 for the banker of St Augustine, offers the perfect blend of old-world charm with Heart of Pine Floors and a fresh, contemporary look thanks to recent remodeling. With four dedicated parking spots, convenience is at your doorstep.

When you're not exploring downtown, you can head to our favorite beach, St. Augustine Beach, only 5 miles away. There's plenty of parking, public restrooms, and a plethora of amazing restaurants. Wednesdays boast a fantastic Farmer's Market, and in the summer, you can enjoy free Wednesday night outdoor concerts. The beach itself is perfect for sandcastle building and surfing, and we provide boogie boards, beach chairs, and towels. If you prefer, hop on our free bikes and cruise downtown in no time.

While the beach is a treat, downtown St. Augustine offers an enchanting world of its own. Picture yourself strolling the charming streets at night, with twinkling lights and the melodious sounds of music filling the air. There's a wealth of great restaurants, fascinating history, and friendly people—all within walking distance from your doorstep. If you need suggestions, just ask for our list of recommended things to do and restaurants. The most difficult part of your trip is making the decision of where to enjoy your meals because of the plethora of options.

The Casa Almeria is ideally located near the heart of the Historic District, just a few blocks from St. George Street's walking district. You'll be surrounded by other beautiful historic homes and quaint, tree-covered streets. The famous Castillo de San Marcos, historic churches, museums, and a treasure trove of restaurants, shops, bars, galleries, and antique shops are just a short walk away. Park your car and forget about it—you won't need it while exploring the wonders of St. Augustine.

Inside the Casa Almeria, you'll find a beautifully refurbished vintage home with a mix of heritage and modern conveniences. You'll enjoy classic and crisp linens, soft towels, and a fully stocked kitchen to prepare delicious meals at home. Gather on the back porch for evening cookouts or watch a movie on the large screen TV in the family room. Wake up to the scent of fresh coffee as you admire the peaceful neighborhood from the front room.

With four bedrooms accommodating up to ten guests, including a king bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and shower, a second king bedroom connected to a full bath, and a queen bedroom connected to a bathroom, there's plenty of space for everyone.

The amenities at Casa Almeria are designed to enhance your stay. Relax in the sunroom at the front of the house, enjoy outdoor dining on the porch at the rear, or bask in the sun on the open patio. Stay connected with WiFi, and make use of the washer and dryer during your stay.

As for proximity, the highlights of St. Augustine are all within walking distance. You can explore the charming downtown attractions, restaurants, trolley rides, wax museums, pirate ships, mini-golf, history, and endless fun at every corner. And if you feel like venturing out, Vilano Beach is just 2.6 miles away, and St. Augustine Beach is a mere 5.5 miles away.

St. Augustine is a city steeped in history, and you can explore its rich heritage by taking the Old City Trolley Tour or visiting the iconic Castillo San Marcos. Stroll down St. George Street, filled with local flair shops and restaurants, and you might even encounter pirates or Spanish conquistadors in period attire. As the day draws to a close, take a romantic walk along the waterfront, where the sunsets cast a magical glow over the picturesque Bridge of Lions.

When you choose Casa Almeria, you'll have the entire home at your disposal.

So, come and immerse yourself in this historical neighborhood adorned with renovated and restored houses. The quiet, shaded street is just a short walk away (only 982 steps, less than half a mile) from the vibrant historic district.

Parking is a breeze with 4 available spots in the driveway. Once you arrive at Casa Saragossa, you won't need to use your car again, as you can explore all of downtown by foot. However, you'll need a car to reach this fantastic destination, and from there, the magic of St. Augustine awaits you!

My wife and I and our 5 children live nearby in Florida and love to visit St Augustine often even for our kids field trips. We love being hosts and making your experience as enjoyable as possible so you can make forever memories.

Why they chose this property

One of the most highly rated and frequently booked homes in St Augustine, this home is known for it's preserved history and carefully curated historical furniture and decor. Originally built in 1918 for the banker of St Augustine, much of the original home has been preserved including the original pine floors and the chimneys in the house. Over the years and as recently as 2025, updates have been made to modernize the home while preserving the historical character of the property.
Each item in the home has been carefully selected for it's historical significance. Some of the furniture is older than the house! The full bed was manufactured in 1896! Many other items you will see throughout the home are from days gone by in America's historical city. You will be hard pressed to find another home in St Augustine that has received as much attention to detail in the furnishing and decorating while also ensuring your comfort and security.
We have two large living spaces that are connected so you can enjoy space together with your group up to 10 guests comfortably.
We have 3 bikes available for your use to cruise around St. Augustine and avoid wearing out your feet while enjoying the breeze of biking.

What makes this property unique

Step into history with Casa Almeria! This house is like a historical museum with the art and decor from the last one hundred years. Yet it's fully functional and comfortable home that has been updated throughout it's history.
Enjoy the unbeatable proximity to downtown so you can walk on the shady oak covered streets dangling with spanish moss.
