Read the Reviews First!
The home itself had a nice layout for 3 couples and in a pristine location. Spectacular views, but that’s really the only good things we can say. We had very poor communication from the property manager, Robert right from the get go. We literally sat in the driveway shortly before checkin still waiting for check in instructions. There was zero firewood for the two fireplaces (we were supposed to have the first night). The hot water knob on the sink in the master was broken off and the hot water in the Elsie bathroom didn’t work at all. There was a blood stain on the master bedding and used tissue on the floor on the master bath. Several light bulbs were burned out or missing completely. The dishwasher didn’t work . It just gave error messages so all dishes had to be washed by hand. The upper oven didn’t work either. The hot tub was warm the first day but then cold the second. The jets on it didn’t work at all. Robert the property manager, when he did communicate with us, finally got us some firewood on the third day and got an electrician to give some heat on the spa on the third day, but we got the impression he really didn’t care about the condition of the house. The house was obviously built in the early 80s and needs some serious updating. Read the previous reviews! We did not and finally did while we were there and saw similar reviews. We definitely would not recommend staying there unless you don’t mind lots of issues and poor communication from the host.

Worst place to stay - stay away!
We had a horrible experience with this rental. We never received any check-in instructions ahead of time and had to call VRBO for help since the host, Robert, was completely unresponsive. We finally got the details after we got to the place. When we arrived, we found multiple broken appliances. The worst issue was that the heater did not work at all, leaving the entire place freezing. We had to rely on the fireplace just to keep warm in the living room, but since the bedrooms were upstairs, they were unbearably cold. We ended up sleeping on the couch instead of in the bedrooms.Additionally, the dishwasher and oven were completely broken. We sent numerous messages to the host and called several times, but he did not respond. When he finally replied—10 hours later—his only solution was to say that the fireplace should be enough to heat the entire house, which was absolutely not true.We also contacted VRBO multiple times, but they were not helpful either. We have always had great experiences with VRBO rentals in the past, but this was by far the worst stay we've ever had. We will never return to this outdated and poorly maintained property. If you're considering this rental, stay away—you’ll only end up disappointed!

Spacious Log Cabin Style Lodge - Great!
We loved the three separate rooms, each with it's own bathroom. The large kitchen and dining room were perfect for our needs. We also liked the "mudroom" to take off our boots after a long day of hiking and store them there with our hiking poles to keep the rest of the house clean. Having the nice laundry area was super important as we stayed almost a week and went through a lot of clothes hiking all day every day. Great place!

Please do not post the below comment
Not for website publication: The towels and sheets were washed with a very strong-smelling detergent that was difficult for may of us to tolerate. Switching to a scent-free detergent would be an easy fix.

As advertised
Truly exceptional property that is a real treat to stay at. A bit dated in some aspects but truly a beautiful home built with gorgeous woodwork. We saw deer drinking from the stream every morning while having coffee on the deck and enjoyed the stars at night from the jacuzzi. Good idea to bring your own pillows and shower stuff (shampoo, conditioner, body wash).

Love the Chalet
We stayed here in March 2022 for a snow experience and were looking forward to our stay in June 2023 for a summer experience. It didn’t disappoint! We love the spaciousness of the chalet, the hydrotherapy pool, and proximity to everything in the June Lake loop. Due to the extreme snow and resulting melt, the basement was slightly flooded, as water seeped up through the slab. We were just careful when we had to use the washer/dryer and otherwise avoided the basement. It did not affect our stay at all, but wanted to give a heads up since this is probably something they’ll be dealing with for a while. The kids enjoyed the small rock climbing wall down there last time, and we avoided it this time. We can’t wait for 2024, as well will definitely be back!

Cozy Gem in June Lake
The chalet is a beautiful place to stay and fortunate we found this gem in June Lake. Snow was piled everywhere but were warm and secure in the chalet and able to use the hot tub to enjoy the day and starry nights. This is a perfect vacation place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of the place.

Perfect June Mtn. Snowboarding lodge
The chalet was just what we expected and hoped for to facilitate a few days on June Mtn. Great location. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. Plenty of space and great for just hanging out after a long day on the slopes. We plan to stay here again.

Another Great Stay !!
Enjoyed relaxing in the cabin. I love drinking coffee by the wood burning stove in the morning. It was cold outside but very warm and cozy inside. Did a little skiing at June Mountain and hung out at the spa at Double Eagle resort. . Some cold beers at June Brew. Cooked up some spaghetti in the kitchen . Then watched a movie in the great room with the fireplace going . I’m making plans for my return later this winter and a summer stay as well .

Great! Loved it!
Perfect base of operations for June Lake, Yosemite, Bodie, and NE Sierras. The house is roomy but cozy. Nice kitchen. Only complaint was a fishy smell from the fridge, but we cleaned it and got rid of most of the odor. Will definitely rent here again!

Be warned! No curtains. Not Modern. Not Luxurious. Circa 1970's.
While the location is wonderful, communication with owner, prompt, architecture beautiful, ammenities are outdated -- our guess circa 1970's. It simply wasn't "modern" nor "luxurious." Spa never warmed beyond bath temperature and spa cover is so old with cracks it can't keep the heat in. Kitchen was an irritant rather than a relaxing and enjoyable space -- cupboard doors clap loudly when closed, microwave is circa 1970 (Amana radar range), cookware is mostly a mismatch of what may have bought also in 1970's. It was an irritant to use. There are no curtains on windows in the master bedrooms - very early morning sunshine directly on our faces forced us to an early rise until we chose to buy eye masks. We thought we were paying for a "modern and luxurious" home to enjoy cooking, hot jacuzzi's, and late morning, wake ups in addition to the magnificent June Lake Loop. While we loved the lakes, we'll return next time to true "modern and luxurious" Mammoth Lakes rental.
