About this property
Beautiful all-new 5br/5.5ba home with private beach and hot tub in Union Pier!
Welcome to Whitecap in Union Pier! Your dream beach vacation starts here, in this light-filled, family-friendly, new construction home with private access to Lake Michigan and one of the very best beaches in Harbor Country! The open plan main level offers a fully stocked kitchen with quartz counters, stainless appliances, a generous island with seating for 5 and an adjacent dining area that comfortable seats 8 around the table. The coffee pot is a classic drip-style (BYO favorite coffee!). The living area welcomes you with a cozy sectional sofa, gas fireplace, a reading nook and lots of windows that bring in the beautiful natural light. The TV is streaming only, so sign into your preferred service and enjoy! Step out onto the spacious front porch to listen to Lake Michigan and watch the neighborhood go by.
The main level primary suite has a king bed, walk-in closet and a recliner with a reading lamp for when you need a little quiet. The en suite bath has a beautiful walk-in tile shower and dual vanity so everyone has room to get ready for the day. A sliding door takes you out to the back deck to enjoy a cup of coffee or stare up at the stars.
The main level also includes a large pantry, a half bath, and a laundry room with Samsung washer and dryer. You'll find the gas grill on the back porch - just take the door out from the laundry room! The grill is hard-line connected to the gas, so be sure to shut off the gas line at the base of the grill when you are done cooking!
Upstairs is a second lounge area with a couch and recliner, and another TV that is streaming only. Don't forget to log out of your accounts before you head home! You'll also find a wet bar with a mini fridge and a sink, as well as a coffee station with a Keurig (BYO coffee pods), and a table that's perfect for games, puzzles or catching up on a little work while you travel. The front bedroom to the left has a double bed and a rocking chair, plus a sliding glass door that takes you out to the upper level deck where you can hear the waves and listen to the birds. The en suite bath has a walk-in tile shower and is stocked with hand soap, towels and a hair dryer.
The bedroom to the front right has a king bed and also opens out to the upper level deck where there is plenty of lounge seating. It's a great place to start your day or to sneak away for a little peace and quiet. The attached jack-and-jill bath has a bathtub with tile surround and is stocked with hand soap, towels and a hair dryer. On the other side of the bathroom is the fourth bedroom with a full-size trundle bed and a small couch. The fifth bedroom offers a queen size bed, a desk and chair for checking your emails or relaxing with a journal. The full bathroom next door offers a walk-in tile shower and is stocked with hand soap, towels and a hair dryer.
The walkout lower level offers yet another great spot to gather on a large sectional sofa for a movie night on the streaming-only TV. A game table is ideal for cards, board games and puzzles. There is also a full bath with a walk-in shower that is stocked with hand soap and towels. Grab a towel from our "Vespa" towel stand and head out one of the sliding doors for a soak in the hot tub (hang your wet towels on the hooks in the nook when you come!). Gather around the fire pit to make s'mores or just relax by a crackling fire and enjoy our spectacular starry sky at night. The outdoor shower is also an important stop when you get back from the beach! Please do not rinse sandy bodies off in the bathrooms - use the outdoor shower!
Ready to head to the beach? We have 10 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas and 1 wagon in the garage ready for you to pack up to head to private Gordon Beach. Check the map in our welcome booklet and on the fridge for directions. Be sure to bring the Gordon Beach flag with you and - more important - remember to bring it home with you at the end of each day! Lost flags will result in a $50 replacement charge.
Do you drive an EV? If so, pull into the left bay of the garage and plug in while you're here. We offer two garage spaces, plus an additional two driveway parking spaces. Be sure to go slow and look around before you pull out of the garage or driveway - Townline can be a busy road in the summer as it is also the path to one of our area's public beaches and is a popular walking route for our neighborhood people, pets and kids!
Please note that our neighbors on both sides of the house are NOT rentals, they are owners who live here most of the time. Be courteous and observe quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. Please keep the porch neat, put your trash and recycling in the receptacles, and be a good neighbor. If you need anything during your stay you can call us at any time - we are here to help and want you to have a wonderful time at Whitecap! Although this is a new rental, we are experienced owners who live locally. So reach out with any questions or concerns, or for recommendations on where to eat, how to find a babysitter, things to do and more!

About the host
Hosted by Heather Gradowski

We have lived locally most of our lives! We love southwest Michigan and love to share it with our guests. Please don't hesitate to ask us about the best places to eat, can't-miss things to do, or even just how to find your way around our local communities!
Why they chose this property
This is a quaint, quiet beach community where many generations of families have gathered for years! Our beach is among the best in the entire country! Relax and read a book, walk for miles searching for beach glass, float in the Lake or just sit down and take in some of the most beautiful sunsets you will see anywhere on earth. You'll see lots of neighbors walking their dogs, taking a stroll with grandkids or just relaxing at the beach. You can walk to Black Currant Bakery for coffee and pastries, or swing by Milda's Market for delicious homemade sandwiches, soups, drinks and all kinds of groceries and goodies. Stock up your drinks and grab the little grocery items you forgot at the Union Pier Market. Restaurants are just a quick walk or ride down the bike path.
What makes this property unique
We have a terrific location, just a short walk to a private beach, and easily accessible to everything you want to do in Harbor Country. This is a brand new home designed with families and multi-generational groups in mind, so there are lots of places to spread out or gather together, both indoors and out.
