Lovely Christmas Dtay in the Smoky Mountains

Had a great time, enjoyed all the amenities, plenty of space for our 7 adults, nearby to good hiking areas. Would have appreciated/needed more towels in the bathroom… need to replace the lacking pool cue chalk and ideally the bridge support for the pool table/cue shots.

Oasis in the woods

The property was lovely with a fantastic view. The children were surprised and then delighted by the bear family that occasionally appeared on the porch. We stayed for 6 nights, and had good access to facilities while at the same time were outside any tourist traffic. The drive up the hill to the property is narrow and steep.

Family Getaway

The directions to the cabin were accurate and easy to use. The area is very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the view from the cabin decks. The family played pool and hung out in the late evenings. Thank you to the owners for sharing their lovely cabin with us.

Vacation

We all had a BLAST! The very first day we were greeted by a mama bear and her two cups! It was such a site to see. The view is anything but lacking. It was absolutely stunning! Plenty of room in the cabin, our 10yr old boys loved playing pool, air hockey, darts, and foosball!

Great mountain getaway

This place has a great view of the mountains from the deck, well appointed kitchen, and bears! It worked perfectly for our yearly trip with friends. It was located close enough to everything we wanted to do giving a secluded home base. Communication with host was speedy when needed! We had an issue with a neighbor and the host was quick to help out with that! Much appreciated! The only things that could have been better are the cleanliness of the hot tub, the upstairs jetted tub and the downstairs shower. They were not enough to mess up our trip which was amazing!

Love this place!

My family (along with two others) had a great experience at this cabin!!! Open and spacious floor plan, lots of hang out space, huge dining table, nice bedrooms. Huge deck with gorgeous views (and a hot tub!). Cozy fireplace. Super close to the national park and some great hiking trails. I like that it felt secluded. So basically it was a really great place! As a bonus, this owner was so nice and easy to work with. Would definitely go back!

Amazing cabin!

This cabin was awesome - you should book if only for the views. This cabin is in a really quiet area, so it's incredibly private! I can't recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back! I would say one minor thing, put your heaviest sleepers in the basement bedroom. There is a utility closet in that room and some piece of equipment that kicks on throughout the night that is quite loud.

Smith’s 2022 Vacation

We fell in love with this experience! We are a large family and this home provided us with the comforts and space we needed for our family! Morning spent on the porch with breathtaking views that never got old with coffee to evenings in the hot tub or if it was raining we spent in the game room with family tournaments. Not only was everything about the home perfect, the hosts were amazing with communication and answered any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone & yes we did get to see the bear come up on the porch!

Good property for multi generation family

Over all a good place to stay. A couple appliances did not work properly. Krueig had to be unplugged and plugged back in to get coffee. Blender didnt work. Mid deck view and upper deck view were spectacular. Game room activities were fun and entertaining on a rainy day. Neighborly bears towards the end of the stay came and visited the mid deck daily. Would stay here again!

Secluded cabin

House was nice size for our group of 9. It was clean. Only suggestion is to update kitchen utensils. We like to cook and the knives were extremely dull. The can opener barely worked. Other than that we had fun hanging out in our down time playing pool, air hockey, darts, and hanging out in the hot tub.

A gorgeous view!

Our family stayed at Antler's Mountain Lodge for Fall Break. It was an amazing location -- serene and beautiful, while still being conveniently located to Smoky Mountain National Park. The view from the rocking chairs on the porches is breathtaking. The home is large, and there was plenty of space for 2 large families to spend time together as well as each of us have our own separate space. There is a great fire pit outside the home, where we enjoyed roasting marshmallows. We even saw a bear in the driveway! We loved the fooseball table, pool table, and hot tub -- ample entertainment for the kids! There is a path behind the home that leads to a small waterfall, which was a fun find! We will definitely stay here again!

Close to Perfect!!

Overall a great experience. The cabin is as shown in the pictures, spacious, and well kept. It was clean and comfortable. Communication with the Kuhn’s was great, Sally was very responsive from the start when we needed to know about parking and pulling a trailer full of motorcycles (which worked out great). Finding a place with a Mountain View and that accommodates a truck/trailer is not easy! We were blessed with bear sightings everyday and gorgeous views. Every place has something that can be improved but this one has been the beat and we plan to visit again. Six adults, a truck, 16’ trailer, car and 3 motorcycles and still had room to play cornhole and relax!

Amazing view

The house was overall amazing. Large comfortable beds, comfortable sitting areas and the most amazing deck with the most amazing view. We had 9 people in the house- 5 kids (ages 7-17) and 4 adults. The only thing that might have made it better was instead of 4 king beds to maybe have one room with 2 twins or something where the teens didn’t have to share a bed (siblings fight and so that created tension with who gets the big bed and who has to sleep on the couch). But at the end of the day- that has nothing to do with the house and how amazing it was. It did work out well- the view man- worth everything. It was great to have a large enough kitchen to cook several meals and a dining room table to seat us all. Sally was so easy to communicate with and was helpful on recommendations for our trip. 100% would do this place again.

Great place in the Smokey Mountains!

We had a great time at this cabin! I would definitely recommend it to others. We would love to go back sometime. The place has great views; including, each day we were there, we saw bears around the place and we all thought that was exciting. Being at the end of the road, it had plenty of parking and was very secluded. It's really close to the Great Smokey Mountains park entrance and Townsend! We enjoyed ice cream down in Townsend each night. We had some multi-aged kids as well as some elderly grandparents and the place worked out great for everyone with plenty of space. The air hockey, pool table, and foosball were definitely used. The wifi worked well too. We went to either Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg each day too and that worked out well. Thanks for sharing your great mountain cabin with us. It was a great place for a summer family vacation. You did a great job with your communications. I really appreciated your welcome text and the instructions on the refrigerator. Thank you!!!

The Perfect Combination of Seclusion and Access, Indoor Luxury and Outdoor Fun

Over the Labor Day weekend, our group of two baby boomers and eight Millennials could not have been happier here! Everyone said that your lodge was the perfect place for them to enjoy some peace and quiet while sharing the love of friends and family. Thank you for having a large dining table where we gathered to talk about our lives and share stories and laughs. The kitchen was very well supplied with all that we needed. Even our guest who is a professional baker was happy! The furniture, linens, woodwork, hot tub, everything was top notch and in very good condition. The quiet and seclusion of Antlers Mountain Lodge was just what our group of busy people needed. The stars at night are amazing and we saw the Milky Way! We could not do that if we were in the middle of Gatlinburg! The view from all three floors is so beautiful and relaxing. The woodwork throughout lodge brings nature inside and adds to the relaxation. It is an easy drive into Townsend to buy groceries, eat a nice dinner out, or get some great soft-serve ice cream at Burger Master! The park is just ten minutes away. In short, we want to come back next summer! Thanks again for sharing your mountain getaway with us!

Amazing Cabin and Views

Cabin, location and views were amazing. The owners were very helpful and even allowed us to arrive early due to us having a 6 hour trip with an infant. Cabin was as described and amazing. Cleaning crew could do a little better on their part. Just had some pans that weren’t cleaned thoroughly. We just washed and used. We stayed during Christmas of 2022 when the winter storm came through and the only issue we really had was how cold the lower was with temps so low. The upper level would get warm and heat would cut off because thermostat were upstairs. Tried adjusting but wouldn’t go above 75 degrees. We went and bought some electric heaters and enjoyed our stay. We will definitely try to book again (when warmer) and definitely will recommend to others. Thanks for sharing your home we had an amazing Christmas in the mountains.

Beautiful VRBO

This was a beautiful home and we so enjoyed the view! There was a bit of a hiccup checking in because the code would not work, but we were able to contact the owner and get a new one right away. Thank goodness the 2nd code worked because the bear paid us a visit while we were unloading our cars! We also were very disappointed that the indoor fireplace would not work but I believe that a part is needed. The owner was very easy to get hold of and the house was fully equipped with everything that we needed! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

About the host

Hosted by Karl and Sally Kuhn

Host profile image
We both grew up in Arkansas but with school have lived in Texas, Florida, Tennessee and Maryland. We eventually ended up in the Nashville area.
Our favorite family vacation is hiking, especially in the Smokies. We are trying to hit all the national parks with our kids.

Why they chose this property

We love the outdoors which is what drew us to this beautiful secluded cabin. We bought the cabin to have a vacation home that our kids would be drawn back to every year as they get older. We hope you and your family will enjoy it as much as we do and will use it to lure your family back together at special times.

What makes this property unique

We love the seclusion of the cabin and the changing views from the porch. Every 15 minutes the shadows and clouds have changed the incredible views off the deck. We also like the the easy access to the park and love being able to sneak in through Maryville instead of getting stuck in the traffic of Pigeon Forge.
We come to the Smokies to get away from it all. This cabin allows you to do that while still being within striking distance of all the go karts, funnel cake, and outlet malls we can handle.
The 9 acres has a stream and waterfall which was an added bonus we discovered after we bought it. Our kids have now become expert salamander hunters in the creek below the falls.
