About this property
Lost River WV 2-br 1-ba cabin (Unit A)
NOTE (7/27/20): This is Unit A. Our family will likely be staying in Unit B during your stay. This allows for full social-distancing as communication would be via text or email.
We have a 2-bedroom, 1-bath cabin in Lost River, WV. It is all on one level. It is a nice mix of local and DC weekenders. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The second bedroom has two twin-sized beds.
The cabin has a landline telephone but there is no cell phone reception. We have high-speed fiber Internet as well as streaming Netflix. We have a new, 39' LED tv. There is no cable television and local television stations are not available.
This unit is adjacent to our other listing: HomeAway 3512252
Because this is our vacation home, we do not have trash or recycling pick-up. You will have to take your trash and recycling back with you.
We're roughly 10 miles from Wardensville, WV and roughly 30 miles from Moorefield, WV. Moorefield is a good town for Walmart, lunch, a movie theatre and bowling alley.
Very close by are two restaurants: the Lost River Grill (5 miles away) and The Guesthouse Lost River (3.8 miles away). The former is more low-key, and the latter is a bit more upscale.
Trout Pond Recreation Area (about 5 minutes away by car) provides a nice lake that you can walk around (and swim in during summer), a camping area, and a playground for kids.
The nightly price quoted here INCLUDES 6% West Virginia Lodging Tax as well as 6% Hardy County Lodging Tax.

About the host
Hosted by Kelly Vielmo

Hi everyone,
My name is Kelly and I live in Washington, DC, with my husband and our three recently-adopted children. We live across the street from the Eastern Market Metro Station and rent out our downstairs apartment.
We've been renting our DC apartment (underneath our house) since March 2012; we've begun renting our WV cabins since Jan. 2013.
My husband works for the federal government, and I work for a global consulting firm supporting the federal government on sustainability issues. We have thoroughly enjoyed our weekends at our WV cabin -- and hope that you will enjoy it, too!

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property as an easy get-away from DC city-life. It's just about 2 hours from DC so we usually spend 1-2 weekends per month here.
