About this property

Alamo Spring- Country Cabin | Comfy Cabin

Natures lovers, walkers, cyclists and motorcycle riders... we have found the property for you. Your host has a definite idea of what Texas is all about and is anxious to share this love of Texas through his cabins. Located just across the street from the well known and popular Alamo Springs General Store and Café these cabins are not only beautiful and private, but they are comfortable too. Each cabin is set up for a romantic or just a casual weekend driving through the countryside. Let us introduce you to Alamo Springs Country Cabins.

The Country Cabin (1) and The Barn (2)
The first two cabins “The Country Cabin” and “The Barn” offer a rustic elegance. Each cabin has a long front porch decked with comfy rockers to enjoy a view of woods and wildlife. Inside these one room cabins you will find a king bed topped with luxury linens and fluffy decorative pillows. The bed is facing the open living along with the leather sofa (also a full size bed) and both are placed to enjoy the television and fireplace. A fully equipped kitchen has a range/oven, large refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster along with the table which can easily seat 3—4 people. Guests favorite part of the cabin probably will be the bathroom with it's large corner whirlpool tub so important for those special weekends. It also has a separate shower. Ever taken a shower or washed your hair in rainwater? These cabins are supplied with pure, sparkling, clean and refreshing rainwater- and it tastes so good, you'll want to take some home.

Just outside the cabin your host provides a parking pad for motorcycles. Along with the special treat of having Alamo Springs General Store and Café across the road, guests may also be interested in the Bat Tunnel located just a short walk away. The Bat Tunnel is open in the evenings during the summer months. The cabins are only a short drive to Luckenbach. This special property has quickly become a favorite of outdoor enthusiasts.

For each extra person after the first two in your party, there is an additional $32/extra person/night (before tax) charge.

The home is pet friendly and will accept up to four dogs. However, there is a pet fee of $32/dog/night. Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation.

Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Beautiful Romantic Cabin!
The layout is perfect for a romantic weekend. The decorations are simple and tasteful. The bathroom is laid out perfectly with great lighting. It is a little further away from Fredericksburg than I realized, but it actually ended up being a beautiful drive from the tasting rooms and downtown.

Enjoyed the stay!
Nice stay, but a little weed maintnence along the path to The Barn would have been nice, lots of small burrs in that path. Might lok at the outside door handle into the cabin, very loose and wobbly. Love The Barn or The Cabin, stayed in both a few times! Our go to place close to Fredericksburg!

Disappointed
Your service has always been great! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. However, the "B" for breakfast should be taken out of the BNB. The breakfast food that was left in the icebox would have been great if it wasn't all expired. The eggs, sausage and the biscuits all expired in August or September. I took the liberty of throwing them all away so the next guest would not have to see that. There was no soap, bar or wash. We had to take a shower with the hand soap until we could get to a store to buy some ourselves. The shower curtain really needs to be either washed really well or replaced. We will definitely use your service again but will not have the Country Cabin on our list to rent again.

Out in the Country Stay
On short notice, we booked the Alamo Springs cabin. It's definitely outside Fredericksburg but within walking distance of the Bat Tunnel and Alamo Springs Cafe and on the way to Luckenbach. The cabin isn't much too look at from the outside but is cozy on the inside. The bed is lovely and lots of space in the bathroom. My husband likes baths and I like showers so the set-up worked well for us. I appreciated being able to use the antique vanity when the the bathroom was occupied. The couch is worn out and should be replaced and it would be helpful to have another towel bar or hook in the bathroom. We appreciated having eggs and sausage in the fridge and a bag of ice in the freezer. Note that the bed and the couch occupy by the same room. We would stay here again when we can come back and view the bats!

Alamo Ranch Cabins
We loved being out in the country. Seeing the birds and other wild creatures such as wild turkey on the way up. Rocking on the porch was peaceful. The perfect get away.

We loved this rustic cabin, with modern kitchen and bath. Porch sitting and drinking coffee watching the sunset and beautiful view of woods. Was so perfect for us.

Beautiful!
The cottage and surrounding property are beautiful. Cottage was very comfortable. The breakfast supplies in the frig were great. The hostess was very accommodating when we had to leave early because of a death in our family back home. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5, and we knew about it ahead of time, was no cable service or wi-fi. Would definitely stay here again.

Lousy Experience
We traveled to Fredericksburg for an anniversary celebration (a time of relaxation and refreshing). We choose High Meadow Cabin for its quaint ambiance and its location/location/location to the town/wineries. We understand how stuff happens and please note that John Marek at High Meadow Cabin was a most gracious host. I wish we could say thank you for relocating us to the not very clean Alamo Springs The Country Cabin; where there is no quaint ambiance, nor did we have our desired location/location/location! You placed us in the boondocks, far away from the plans we had for our anniversary celebration and in a secluded place we would not have chosen for ourselves. We have vacated The Country Cabin early morning (Saturday, 05/21/22), and returned home a day early, very disappointed. Please refund our third nights lodging to my credit card you have on file. Sincerely, Royce Hall

We Keep Coming Back
This wasn't our first time at the Country Cabin, and we have stayed previously at the Barn. It's so good that we invited friends to join us and they stayed at The Barn. The facilities are always clean. We enjoy the solitude of the location.

Fantastic!
What can I say?? The place was great! Feels very secluded, but you are fairly close to town, and across the lane, street from the Alamo Springs. Place was clean and very, very comfortable! We will definitely stay there again!!

Exceptional Stay
This place is a gem. I am not going to lie.... the limited internet was a blessing. We needed to unplug from the world and take time for myself. Although we were briefly disappointed that feeling went away quickly as we found other things to do with my free time that we have not done in a long time. Thank you for the restful week! We will be back!

Lovely house, great location —for some things
The house was perfect for most of the things that matter most to us. Beautiful setting, great porch for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Close to some quiet hill country roads for bicycling. There's a short hiking trail behind the house and much more extensive trails right across the road at the “Bat Cave State Park”. The Burger place next door bills itself as one of the top three burgers in the state and it didn't disappoint. The only caveat, and I'm not sure if it's a negative is that our cell signal was very weak the whole time and the house WiFi also ran weak. The problem is that we use online resources to find restaurants and attractions and many other things. I know lots of people are trying to get away from their phones and computers and would regard being unplugged as a plus. Overall I give this place 5 stars enthusiastically. The owners responded promptly to texts and/or phone calls. We'll be back.

Nice and Quiet
My wife and I really enjoyed the stay. It was just perfect for a quiet romantic weekend. Given the small size of the cabin the bathroom was surprisingly large. It was easy to get to, but also a bit remote. Everything was clean and well stocked.
