Wild Sage Barn was built in the 1800's by German immigrant settlers. Originally, it was a two-story barn made of hand-hewed limestone. Renovations added a living area, kitchen and bath. Authenticity of early settlers is found on some of the door frames which has penciled accounts of crop yields for 1889 and 1890. Built on a ten acre “out lot”, today it maintains the countryside atmosphere on the current two acres, even though it is located a few blocks from Main Street.
Inside this elegant barn you will enjoy the magnificence of the high beamed ceilings and original shake ceiling over the original part of the house. The master bedroom is a loft overlooking the fireplace in the open living area. It is majestically decorated with a king bed as the focal point of the room and topped with a beautiful comforter and skirt.
The living area, kitchen and bath have rustic cedar walls and ceiling. A limestone fireplace with a Texas Lone Star is delightful on a cool day. The kitchen is equipped for light cooking. A clawfoot tub in the bathroom overlooks a large oak tree and wildlife from the wooded area, providing privacy and relaxation.

Wonderful quaint little 2 room cabin. we were surprised that the second room was downstairs/basement type but loved the atmosphere. We were also surprised that there was not an oven to use. However we improvised for our dinner and it was lovely. Sitting on the porch we saw gorgeous deer and a little coyote. Definitely the retreat we needed!! Thanks for hosting us!!
Quite very peaceful feeling of tranquility not wise for individuals who are loud

It was a nice, quiet get away in a quaint setting.
Relaxing, charming, and cozy experience. We loved seeing the deer coming from the woods nearby. Owner was very nice to chat with, and gave us privacy needed.
We celebrated my youngest daughters 50th birthday, enjoying the winery’s, shopping, food and Oktoberfest! This cute and cozy cabin was perfect for the 3 of us. Nice crisp mornings sitting outside with deer, coffee and cardinals. Perfect to hang out after a long day!!! Bob the owner was very personable and helpful.
Great trip!!!
I was very pleased with the property. What I wasn't pleased about was the note in the cabin that said if we use the second bed we would be charged an additional $25!!! I paid for a 2 bedroom place .... why the extra charge???
Rented this cabin for two nights on the weekend for my wife’s birthday. It was a relaxing getaway and we all enjoyed our stay. Makes me want to move out of the city!
What a great place to stay! Cozy little barn conversion from the 1840’s. Less than a mile from main street but with the charm of an old times. Has everything you need. Will stay again if available!
I booked last minute . check in was quick. Guest house was lovely. Very historic .

We enjoyed the house and quaintness. The rather junky patio and backyard was not real nice to step out and see. The backyard could have been more pleasant to enjoy. For old folks the tub was hard to get in and out of.
