Fabulous winter getaway
The home is lovely, very clean, and the views are spectacular. The space is large and functional and, although we were just a couple, it would easily accommodate six people. The furnishings and bed were comfortable - the use of the woodstove was extra special as there was snow and winter weather during our December stay. The coastal decor in the house is vey nice, including lots of local Nova Scotia artwork. The owner provided excellent communication and made extra effort to decorate the home for the holidays. Highly recommend!

Stunning views!
An incredible property with the most amazing sea views. Truly an idyllic location. The cottage is beautiful, extremely well equipped - it lacks nothing. Quality linens, beautiful artwork, it’s a wonderful property. It’s obvious that this is Catherine’s home - not just a rental. 10/10 would recommend!

Better than the photos
What a beautiful, simple but well curated home. Astounding views! We watched the waves crashing the shore and deer on the back lawn. It’s an idyllic spot. The interior design is thoughtful, comfortable and sprinkled with enough local charm to keep you smiling at every turn. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back.

Beach house beauty
Relaxing, comfortable and fully eqipped beach house in Kingsburgh. Rose cafe is just up the steet for food necessities or 30 minutes to Bridgewater if you need to stock up. But you may never want to leave the views or the sound of the ocean from the deck. The host, Catherine, is very responsive to any questions. You'll feel right at home and very welcomed.

Superior Vacation Home
Marvellous accommodation, superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need. Would be ideal for 2 couples with children. Located conveniently for beaches at Kingsburg, Hirtles, Rissers and crescent. When hurricane Lee threatened to spoil our vacation, Catherine went out of her way to adjust her plans to allow us to save our holiday. Highly recommended.

Holiday get away
The house and area were perfect. Catherine was wonderfully communicative. We found out shortly after our arrival that we lost our dad. Although our stay wasn’t what we had hoped for, a relaxing few days from the city, it became a lovely place for us to be together as a family and grieve. It’ll always be a place close to our hearts. Thank you Catherine!

Peaceful, idyllic setting
Our party of five, two couples and a singleton, enjoyed a peaceful, quiet week in this fabulous home in Rose Bay, just a short walk from one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen - Hirtle Beach. The home is very nicely furnished, with all the necessities and more! Georgia and Catherine were fantastic to work with from the rental to check-in and check-out. I highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting an escape from tourist traffic, but near enough to the spectacular villages of Lunenberg and Mahone Bay to make outings convenient and easy.

Wonderful
My family and I spent a March weekend in Catherine's beautiful home. It was wonderfully furnished and stocked, leaving nothing to be wanted. Although, it was cold outside we were warm, cozy and very comfortable inside. The layout and design (and furnishings) of the home was great for the six of us and we never felt confined or cramped. The views from the many windows was extraordinary and even lured us out of our beds at 0630 to watch the sunrise. Catherine was kind, attentive and answered all our questions in a timely manner; even looking after mailing a forgotten item. Thank you so much for a wonderful, bonding weekend that we will never forget. I would recommend Catherine's home wholeheartedly.

Wonderful Vacation in Kingsburg!
Our family could not have asked for more during our week-long stay at Catherine and Georgia's. This was our fourth time visiting Kingsburg (we used to stay directly on the ocean), but this was by far the best vacation yet! We found the house bright and airy, beautifully appointed in a light, neutral palette (no dark, mismatched furnishings here!) The setting was idyllic: perched high on a quiet, gravel road, we could look down at a small lake, rolling meadows (with rabbits, deer and even a porcupine) and Kingsburg Bay in the distance. We spent the week surfing the pounding waves at nearby Hirtle's Beach (just down the path), exploring the tidal pools in the shale and slate outcroppings, hiking to spectacular Gaff Point, kayaking on the ocean around the LaHave Islands. Lunenburg was just a 20-minute drive away for dinner, but we also took advantage of the comfort and luxury of our beach house to prepare yummy seafood feasts (try the local scallops from Adams & Knickle). All in all, it was heavenly--even the weather cooperated! Wish we were there now! Looking forward to going back :)

Stunning and Panoramic Describes it Perfectly
What a beautiful home in a beautiful area! We were there for a week and wish it could have been much longer. The house was spotlessly clean. It is within walking distance to a small beach and about a 5-10 minute drive to two other beaches (Kingsburg & Hirtles). The view from the main areas of the home and deck are truly inspiring and the surroundings are so peaceful. It is also close to various tourist destinations (e.g. 20-30 minutes to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, LaHave Ferry). Catherine has taken care of providing everything a person could need to make one's stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, and she always responds VERY promptly if you run into any issues. (We just had a couple questions about the recycling rules in the area and she was very quick to get back to us with the information). We did have a bit of a challenge finding the house initially due to a detour sign and a GPS that led us astray, so our suggestion would be that you try and arrive before dark because the location can be a bit tricky to find the first time if you're unfamiliar with the area. We have no hesitation recommending this property and would love to return someday.

Seahaven is Heaven!
This special property is such a welcoming refuge from the concerns of busy city life. Driving into the community we knew we had made the right choice to visit this breathtaking area of Nova Scotia. And sure enough, just entering the driveway to this delightful cottage sealed the deal — even on a grey rainy day!! To top it off, as soon as we opened the door, we were immediately greeted with charming, cozy comfort. It is spacious, well-appointed, and designed with a gorgeous colour palette and furnishings. The sweeping views out the large windows put on quite a show with the changing light and weather conditions throughout the day, while inside is a delightful gallery of NS folk art with thoughtful touches right down to the rope and tartan coasters. We really enjoyed our hikes on Hirtles Beach and exploring the nearby areas, and chatting to friendly locals, but truly, just staying home in this hilltop slice of paradise was a joy. You can tell this home is treasured by the owner and it is wonderful that she shares this experience with others. Thanks to Catherine for being such a responsive, generous and gracious host. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We are already looking forward to returning to this magical place and will gladly recommend it to friends.

Stunning! Everything we hoped it would be!
Our stay at this beautiful home in Kingsburg was absolutely perfect. Not only was the property absolutely divine, so was the homeowner, Catherine. She is an absolute delight to deal with and was always available to answer any questions we had about our stay- both before and during our stay in Kingsburg. Although the photos online are lovely, you don’t really get a sense of how fabulous the property is until you walk through the door. This home has a great layout with an open concept and stunning views of the water. The main living space was exactly what we were hoping for, with ample space to spread out, a great kitchen to cook in and prepare meals. The kitchen was well stocked with just about everything we needed. The decor is incredible right down to the little touches. Downstairs offered another great family room space where our daughters could sneak away, play games, watch tv and have their “own” little space to themselves! Downstairs is a bright space, very comfortable with large windows with more views of the water. We visited during the winter months so to know there was a woodstove in the living room was great and it kicks out a lot of heat!! Creates an absolutely wonderful ambiance during cold winter days! Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, linens, etc. The home offered ample space for all of us to spread out, never feeling cramped or on top of one another. The property is a short stroll to nearby Hirtles Beach where we enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach. It’s also quite to close to Lunenburg and Bridgewater for access to grocery stores, liquor stores and restaurants. We hope to visit this property again in the months ahead and highly recommend others visit it too.

Escape to Kingsburg
My wife and thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property in beautiful Kingsburg. Set on the side of a hill overlooking Kingsburg beach and the Atlantic ocean you can enjoy spectacular views each morning as you enjoy your morning coffee on the deck. The beach house is deceiving large with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms it could easily accommodate a large family or possibly even two families. The property is very well equipped with everything you should need during your stay. We found the beds very comfortable and there was lots of hot water to enjoy the rainfall shower in the master bath. Georgia was very responsive to our questions and receptive to our feedback which as you might discern was very positive. The beach house is a short walk up the road and down a path to Hirtle's beach. To truly best enjoy the beach we would recommend organizing your beach time around Low tide which changes each day, the schedule can be found on the Environment Canada website. It is about an hour walk to the end of the beach and back at Low tide. We live in Halifax ( 90 minute drive) but really enjoyed exploring our own beautiful province. We would recommend visiting Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and taking the Lahave ferry over to visit the LaHave Bakery. The fare is $7.00 each way but I don't think there is a charge if you leave your car and walk on, the bakery is a short walk from where the ferry docks. We left some brochures behind so hopefully others will do the same so that you can explore the local area. It was an incredibly relaxing week and a wonderful respite from everybody and everything. We would highly recommend this property for those looking to unwind and enjoy a beautiful part of Nova Scotia, I hope we will have an opportunity to return in the near future.

Winter Getaway at Seahaven
Having just spent five days at Catherine’s seaside haven we can tell you it is one of the best equipped and beautifully appointed properties that we have rented in the 20 plus years that we have been going on an annual Winter Getaway in Nova Scotia. As a host, she is Five Star on all criteria. In any season, this property and location would be perfect. We’re already planning our return next Winter.

A Picturesque Gem
Nothing like a little NS staycation to start my 44th year off creating memories with my fam jam. We had a wonderful weekend recharging our batteries by doing nothing but relaxing, playing games (I highly recommend “What do you Meme?-family edition”) and walking the beaches enjoying the natural beauty of NS. We love visiting the South Shore, and have stayed at many rentals over the years. @seahaven.kingsburg was definitely a picturesque gem 💎 that spoke to all of the things we love about NS. Aside from the amazing location and accommodations, our host Catherine, is one of the main reasons our stay was as enjoyable as it was. She was quick to respond, helpful, thoughtful, and it’s not hard to tell she loves NS as much as we do. The next time you’re looking for a place to stay along the beautiful South Shore, I highly recommend this property.

The Best!
Our ten day stay at Catherine’s property in Kingsburg was our second in that beautiful house. It is well equipped in every imaginable way - from kitchen to linens to entertainment - there really aren’t enough superlatives! Catherine’s thoughtful decorating truly reflects the area. She is a host who goes out of her way to make her guests’ stay the best it can be - from being available for questions to being attentive before and during the stay. We have been coming to Kingsburg for many years and hope that Catherine’s property will be available for many future visits. It’s really the best!!

Wildflowers, Salty Air and Fireflies
We just had four days of bliss at Catherine's property and can hardly wait to go back. As soon as you pull into Kingsburg you are transported into one of the most peaceful places in Nova Scotia. My husband, parents and 20 month old son came along and it was just perfection. My parents spend most of their time just taking in the beauty of the patio and on our last night spotted thousands of fireflies in the wildflower field behind the house. If you are lucky enough to book Catherine's house you will most certainly love your time there.

Hi there! I am from Ontario, Canada, a mum of 2 boys. I love my Maritime beach house but am not able to visit as often as I would like!

Why they chose this property

I love, LOVE Nova Scotia and fell in love with the pastoral views of Kingsburg. The sound of the crashing surf and the peaceful views of the grasses on the hillside make it an ideal vacation spot. Plus, access is easy to one of many, many beaches as well as the town of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Worthy destinations.
