This family seasonal home on the waterfront is secluded and serene. With direct waterfront and panoramic views, watch sloops sailing up and down the river, lobstermen pulling pots, even occasional seals leaping or sunning. Osprey routinely catch their dinner in the river. Some years, eagles nest at the top of an especially tall pine tree in view of the house.
Explore the clam flats at low tide. (Yes, there are steamer clams for the digging and clamming forks at the house if you've a mind to try.)
Walk, jog or ride your bike around the loop, a 3 or 4-mile circle of road around Stone's Point. Then relax on the screen porch with a book from a large collection throughout the house. Or choose one of the many board games or puzzles available. Of course there's a Smart TV, cable, internet and a DVD player, but who goes to Maine to watch TV?
After a home cooked lobster dinner, put your feet up in front of a cozy fire in the fireplace and remember what it's like to have no agenda at all. Or step outside and look up. With no light pollution, no place has more stars than a clear Maine night sky.
When you crave a little civilization, there are many attractions within an easy drive, many only 10 miles or so away.
