Clean property and great location for a weekend Steelers game. Short walk to the incline and ferry. Short walk to a couple of nice restaurants. Great communication with property management.
My husband, mother-in-law, two kids (ages 4 and 1) and I stayed this past weekend. We loved our stay! The owner had completely baby proofed the home with baby gate for stairs and kitchen, outlet covers, high chair, pack n play and booster seat, as well as an abundance of toys. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels. Parking on the street requires you to be slightly on the sidewalk, but that pretty standard in Pittsburgh. From the house we walked to breakfast, the lookout points, and the incline. Great place to stay and would recommend.
We came into town for a preseason game and the house was perfect. The only downfall was there was no mention of the amount of stairs, and maybe I missed it, but there were a ton of stairs. Otherwise the stay was perfect, and the host had everything there that one would need.
Communication with host was awesome. Her home was very comfortable and homey. The neighborhood could not be better, with restaurants and activities so close by.
This rental was in a nice location. Just a short walk to the scenic overlooks on Mt Washington, as well as Shiloh St restaurants & Bigham St. The property was clean and well kept considering it is an older structure. There was plenty of room for our family, and the kitchen was well-stocked with items we may have needed especially for a longer stay. The air conditioning was struggling to keep some of the areas cool, but the weather was also hot that weekend. The units in the bedroom were good and hard to sleep with but that is just a personal issue for me. The TV did not work and neither did the living room light. The owner communicated about this issue, but the suggestion did not resolve the problem. Otherwise the beds were comfortable, we appreciated the linens , towels, and toiletries provided, and we enjoyed being so close to the Mt Washington attractions!
The property is exactly as described! These aren’t luxury accommodations. The home was clean and the neighborhood felt safe. The location was perfect for exploring Pittsburgh. The owner was attentive.
I say surprisingly good because pulling up to the location you're like, what did I book. The house is next to a vacant lot and the some of the other neighborhood homes were not kept tidy. Some had garbage spewd on their property.
Once we entered this location was saw it is an older home that was very clean. The beds were very comfy. It said it sleeps six, but one room had a trundle bed and as grown men no one wanted the lower trundle. So I made good use of the sofa in the living room. It was very comfortable.
Having one bathroom was a little tough for 4 men. We made it work.
The house has one television in the living room and none in the bedrooms. The cable channels were spotty. No ESPN or sports channels and we were there for the Steelers game.
The location was great as it was only 3 miles from Heinze Field and the casino. We used uber to and from the game. It's a couple miles from downtown. I don't recommend walking because this location is at the top of the hill. Its also 1 block down from the Pittsburgh lookout peak. Beautiful view overlooking the city.
I do recommend this location during fall and winter. The heat worked well. I didn't see any ac so I don't know how cool this would be in the summer. The parking in the neighborhood was very crowded and the streets are narrow two way streets.
We had a great time. Enjoyed the apartment and it was well stocked. Everything was clean and comfortable. We did not have trouble outside of carrying luggage. But would recommend to include that there are a number of stairs from the entrance to the main part of apartment and more to get to two of the bedrooms.
Pleasant, well maintained older property in a quiet neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Upstairs rooms were cozy. Kitchen had what we needed and water pressure was good. Would stay again.
Property is in a great neighborhood, close to everything far enough to be quiet. Great older home, incredible stained glass, roomy & clean and comfortable. The owner is amazing!
The house is fine. You should familiarize yourself with the Mt Washington neighborhood so you're not surprised. However, 30 minutes before we were set to arrive the host sent a message that she would be totally unavailable by any contact method. She said it was a special weekend for her family. Then the toilet clogged and there was no plunger and no host. This trip was also a special weekend for my family, but we got to spend a night with a barely functional toilet.

I have been living in Pittsburgh for over 37 years, and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. I work as a pediatric occupational therapist; a profession that allows me the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of the children that I service and their families. Now, through HomeAway, I can offer a warm and welcoming place to all who come to Pittsburgh and treat them to the best of both worlds: comfort and convenience.
Why they chose this property
I chose to buy this home because it offers so much. It's centrally located, you can walk and within minutes to a variety of restaurants, and shops or take the Incline, or get an amazing view of the city. The people of Pittsburgh are friendly and welcoming and Mount Washington offers the proximity to the city with the flavor of home.
What makes this property unique
One of the most enjoyable features of my home is the spacious living room and dining room areas, the large master bedroom. and the stained glass windows that give it a charm all it's own
