Our unit is fully furnished with all the comforts of home, from your toaster oven to your blender to make those famous tropical drinks. Sorry Pets are NOT allowed and this is a None Smoking/ Vaping unit. For the boaters, you will have free use of the boat ramp or contact us for information on renting a slip (association rules apply) at our marina with direct access to the ocean. We feel confident your stay will be a most memorable experience! We bought Kawama for our future retirement home. Excellent fishing, scuba diving, Snorkeling and just all round water sport destination in Florida. Kawama is on the Ocean. We do not have a beach area on the property. That area that other owners post as a beach does not currently belong to the association. It is privately own, but due to the by-laws they must provide access to owners and guests of Kawama thus you do have an easement 12 feet to access the ocean. You have ocean shore access, a ramp and a stair case to assist you in getting to the ocean. You can swim and snorkel on our ocean area as well as in our lagoon that is stocked with tropical fishes. However I want to advise you on the beaches in the Florida Keys. All beaches in the Florida Keys are man-made. We do not have that surf which creates the soil erosion to make the beaches. Pending on the tide and current, one day we will have clear shore line area another day we will have seaweed accumulate on the shore. This is normal for the Keys. Boat Ramp (All Vessels entering Kawama must bring proof of liability Insurance of $300,000.00 or higher) Marina Boat Slip Rentals (fees).
One of the many projects a host has to do is pest control. Since our home is part of gated community with a Home Owners Association included in our fees is interior and exterior Pest Control. As of this writing our monthly pest control is provided every second Tuesday of every month. These days are subject to change without prior notice.
Please be aware of this when you book and reserve our home as we want this service to be provided to our home.
Home Owners Association has advised they will start with the painting and window sealing effective July 1, 2024 and will continue to mid Aug 2024. This renovation is for re-stucco of the Spalding areas sealing windows and exterior painting . This work will not start till after 9:00am and will be finished by 5:00pm daily Monday to Friday only till job is completed. I want to make sure you realize this as the project may be on going when you will be here should there be any delays or extension. This renovation process will not hinder you from enjoying all the amenities we advertise for our home.
