About this property

Rustic Historic Mountain Cabin by Pikes Peak.

This historic rustic log cabin built in 1953 sits near the foot of Pikes Peak, America’s Mountain and Pike National Forest.
It has been updated and restored.

Though the cabin sits at about 7800' next to Pike National Forrest and is usually a comfortable temperature inside, we have added Central Air Conditioning for some of those hot summer days and for those coming from the high summer heat states, rest assured you will be cool at our cabin.

It has the original pecan hardwood floors, tongue and groove indoor pine siding and imbues the essence of Colorado Mountain living.

Kitchen lighting has been updated and lights added for ease of preparing and cooking meals.

Central Air Conditioning cools the cabin quietly and ceiling fans in the bedrooms help bring in the cool fresh mountain air at night.

There is plenty of "off street parking" at our cabin for multiple vehicles and motorcycle or ATV trailers or both. One bay of our two car garage might be available for ATVs, motorcycles or kayaks, Please inquire if interested, it is not available for vehicles.

The 1/2 acre lot is lush with flora & fauna, birds and deer are always around.

In the winter season when the there is snowfall the roads to the cabin are plowed and well maintained.

Extras! Extras! Extras! Area rugs all have extra thick padding, 500+ thread count sheets, bathtub/shower has the 1/4 circle shower curtain rod for added room when showering, fog-less vanity mirror, ceiling fans in the bedrooms to bring in the cool fresh mountain air, closet lighting, dimmer switches on most lighting.

Very Strong WiFi.

WiFi is fast. Recently clocked at 352 Mbps. Enough to handle multiple devices streaming HD videos, video conferencing, Zoom and gaming at the same time.

Sitting on half an acre in a small mountain community of other homes, our cabin backs up to 95 acres of the Wallace Open Space Preserve and beyond that is 500,000+ acres of Pike National Forest with hiking trails, lakes, reservoirs and Pikes Peak.

Most properties next to us, which you can see are also on 1/2 an acre or so.

The wrap around deck with patio table and sectional patio sofa is great for listening to songbirds, wildlife, deer and sipping hot chocolate or a glass of wine.

Four reclining outdoor lounge chairs are near the back gate for further star gazing and relaxing.

Beautiful mountain get away

Picture perfect cabin tucked in the side of the mountain in an adorable little town. Views are amazing. Hiking out the back door. Close to Colorado Springs. House is exceptionally set up with everything you would expect and much more. Kitchen is very well stocked with many many dishes. Linens, towels were top quality. Host was a book with everything you could ever want laid out for guests. Highly recommend.

Christmas Surprise

My family and I stayed for a few days shortly after Christmas. The cabin was very nicely decorated for Christmas which was an unexpected but nice surprise. It made the stay much more cozy and relaxing to finish out the year. The host was pretty responsive and answered any questions that we had. The cabin was well stocked, clean, and very nice. If we visit the area again, we will definitely be back.

Classic Colorado cabin

The cabin was very cozy. Great decks to watch the wildlife from. Had as many as four deer hanging around at one time. Owner was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely go back again. back

Perfect get away

This cabin was better than I imagined! The host was very attentive to any questions. There is anything you could think of if you forgot something. I definitely couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay! We love to hike so we were even able to go out the back and hike the trails. We had deer also come and lay in the front yard!! Perfect vacation!

Best experience I could have asked for!

The first time using Vrbo and it turned out SO good! Now I don't know if it's typical for hosts to put it the effort that mine did but they really make sure you have a wonderful time and I can not recommend this place and this host enough! We are going to keep them in mind if/when we come back! This was the best trip with the best cabin in the best place! We could not be any more happy! It was perfect for our anniversary trip alone and we even said it would be perfect to bring our daughter next time! Absolutely in love and didn't want to leave. Thank you!

Awesome cabin

This cabin was more then we ever expected, it was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen even has a dishwasher to use after you have cooked in the fully stocked kitchen. We have never stayed at a place like this and i am sure we will be disappointed in any others that we might stay in. To top it all off when we were getting ready to get in the car to go home the biggest most beautiful rainbow bid us farewell.

The cabin location was secluded and quiet. The large porches were wonderful for sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. The cabin was so well stocked and everything was in great working order. We had a lovely time!

Cabin in the Woods

The cabin is beautiful. We were hoping it was more secluded than it was. The neighbors were right next door on both sides. There was barking dogs until late in the evening. Kevin was a great host, he let us use the garage for the motorcycle and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.

This was the most lovely stay. Everything one could need, from bathrobes to ice, (and everything in between), was provided. The outdoor spaces were comfortable and great for bird and wildlife watching. The beds were great. Everything was delightful and I hope to book again.

Enjoyed our stay for five days. Comfortable living room furniture and bed. The deck was relaxing for morning coffee. Saw one deer in drive on two occasions. Nice location for relaxation but close to many attractions in the area.

Better than the reviews!

Most of the reviews cover the basics of why this place is so nice and comfortable. Yes, it’s the best stocked cabin we’ve ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many. The beds were comfortable with lovely bedding. I had my choice of different pillows!! Found one that was perfect. Nice robes and special socks/footies for inside wear. Used the crockpot for chili!! The hiking right out the back gate was delightful, and not strenuous. Great set-up in the living room for watching a movie in the evening after shopping or hiking all day. Safeway and Walmart right up the highway about 5 miles. Decent restaurants close by, and so close to all the attractions.I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. Thanks to the friendly hosts!!!

Great little cabin!

The cabin is well located - close to Colorado Springs, Pike’s peak, and the Garden of the Gods. It is well stocked and Kevin’s recommendations were great! Would recommend to anyone coming to the area.

Peaceful Mountain Cabin

This place was even better in person. Beautiful flowers, wonderful semi-wrap around deck/porch, big front windows to enjoy the wildlife! We enjoyed the birds, chipmunks, and deer. Kevin has a plethora of sight-seeing brochures, trail maps, and suggested adventures. We loved the beds and pillows. Cabin stocked with amazing blankets, personal hygiene stuff in case you forget anything! The appliances seemed newer and there was even a dishwasher which is a plus! WiFi worked great if you need that! The local restaurants were wonderful. Thank you Kevin for a great, peaceful get-a-way!!!

Peaceful Mountain Cabin

We spent 3 nights here with our family of 4, including 2 teenagers. The cabin is adorable and so cozy. We really appreciated the central air conditioning. The wraparound deck was a perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or relax after a long day of exploring the sights. We loved the trails just outside the cabin. Our teenagers were thankful for the fast Wi-Fi which was faster than what we had at home. The owners were easy to get in touch with and really paid attention to all the little details that made us feel welcome and comfortable. My only wish is that we could have spent more days at this cabin!

Perfect Getaway!!

The cabin and the entire rental experience were awesome and exceeded all expectations. The cabin was exceptionally clean and the furnishings very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the spices and oils made cooking quality meals easy!! The deck has great furniture and a nice Weber grill. We loved sitting on the front porch in the mornings watching and listening to birds. And the deck was great for afternoons and evening sunsets and stars. Being able to access so many trails from the back of the property was super convenient. Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. This location offers access to so many activities both locally and within a 30-60 minute drive that it makes a perfect base for great getaway.

From the outside to inside it makes a statement that I am a rustic looking cabin in Colorado with forest trees all around and near the foot of Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the USAFA is about 30 minutes away
