Lovely Beach Cottage at family-friendly Wrightsville Beach, NC (Wilmington, NC), 2 bedrooms + one bedroom downstairs separate from the upstairs, 1 bath + half-bath with downstairs bedroom, outside shower, front porch with swing & rocking chairs for reading, dozing, chatting, happy hour, people watching. Cottage sleeps 6. Located in the heart of the island just off Lumina Ave by the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk. We are 2 minutes from the waterway and 3 minutes from Oxford Street beach, walking of course. 8 blocks from Roberts Market, Tower 7, The Trolley Stop, and Kohl's Frozen Custard. Farmer's Mkt every Mon morning. Activities at the Wrightsville Recreation Center. Oxford is a quiet street of nearly year round neighbors. No by the night availability, only by the week or month availability. We offer our cottage for family vacations or business travel. No renting for high school/college spring breaks, sorority or fraternity parties, church groups, bridal/wedding parties. Must be 25 and older. Thank You!

Just a magical week at beach cottage!

We had a great week in Wrightsville. Property was so close to beach, shops, and restaurants. The cottage had everything you would want and need for a stay. It was cozy and comfortable.

Great little place

It was a cute beach cottage in a great location. It was the perfect size for us. The location was a quick walk to everything which we loved. My only complaint is the mattress in the bedroom to the right of the bathroom sagged in the center.

Cant imagine a better vrbo experience

Incredible location- close but not too close to the water. Far enough from the main intersection to avoid evening traffic noises. Walkable to town, pier, etc. The property itself was awesome. The layout was perfect for us- 2 tweens (m/f) and parents. We didn’t even use the lower level bedroom during our stay- the upper level was just right. We really enjoyed our stay, and plan to be back with Irene again soon.

clean and updated unit

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The upstairs was really nice. It was updated, clean and comfortable. The downstairs (which was separate) was small, cramped and not as warm as the upstairs. So, we didn't use it. The only complaint of the upstairs would be the beds. Any time you made a move, they were loud, so made it difficult for my husband and I as we were constantly getting awoken by each other's moves. Otherwise, the property was as advertised. It would've been nice to have a tv in at least one of the rooms, but not a huge deal. We loved the porch! Also, the area was super quiet and peaceful.

Great cottage. Load up the wagon, cross the street and you are at the beach! The home is lovely and very comfortable. Looking forward to our third stay next year.

Wrightsville Beach Oxford Street

We had a great stay here. Location is a short walk to the ocean. The outdoor shower was a big plus for us beach folks. Upper floor bedrooms were nice and large and living space is very comfortable. My hubby and I stayed in the lower level bedroom which is smaller but it didn’t need to be bigger as we only slept there. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is both a washer and dryer on site. Parking area is large and you can park in a covered area. We found the beach equipment to be very helpful - a tent, wagon and umbrella. We recommend Irene’s home to travelers to Wrightsville Beach area.

Comfy Family Cottage

A bad first impression, because the broken porch rocker was the first thing we saw. I reported it, but it was not taken away or replaced. Loved the light airiness and cool comfortable decor. Clean, but I rated it just ok because of many roaches. Well-equipped kitchen. I would book again, but we need another bedroom and bathroom for our 6 adults

Ocean Getaway

This was our first visit to the ocean as a family. Both of my kids will be going off to college in the fall, so we wanted to take some time to relax, explore and experience something new together before our lives take new paths. This was the perfect cottage! My son took the space downstairs, making it feel like his own living area, while my daughter had one room upstairs, and my spouse and I had the other. We were able to make memories cooking soft shell crab together for the first time, as well as other fresh seafood, with no incident or stress. The short one block walk to the ocean public access point allowed us to enjoy visiting the ocean every day, even several times a day. We watched the sunrise, walked between Johnnie Mercers Pier and Crystal Pier, and sought out beautiful shells all on the same day, at different times. The outdoor shower and on prem laundry facilities were a life saver. It was a home away from home, with all of the amenities, and the decor truly made it feel like an ocean side cottage. We would happily repeat this vacation, including renting this property.

Lovely coastal cottage

Our stay at this lovely cottage was simply ideal. Our week at Wrightsville Beach was lovely and the time at this beautifully appointed and perfectly located home made the trip truly restorative and restful. The events of recent months left my husband and I stressed and exhausted. Our week at this beautiful beach cottage provided the respite and peace we needed. We certainly hope to visit again. We had a great visit to Wrightsville. As a family of four, we loved the proximity to restaurants/ice cream. Our one recommendation would be the addition of a grill.

Wonderful cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this cottage. The house and property was very clean and Irene was very responsive to my questions and needs. Also, the cottage is very quaint and is situated in a great location on Wrightsville Beach. I would recommend this property to anyone and plan on returning.

We had a very good time and very satisfied with the home. The beach chairs were good so we did not have to bring our own. The best was the wagon it made the trip back and forth so easy, we did't have to carry anything. My husband enjoyed in the out door shower. Parking was good being undercover it kept the cars a lot cooler. The only thing we wished you had was another TV and in the master bedroom some place to do hair and not use the bathroom. We had a wonderful time in your home. Thanks Pat

Simple but Wonderful Vacation

Our stay in Wrightsville Beach was wonderful. Great weather the beach was fantastic. The house was excellent as well. This was my second time staying here and i enjoyed it as much as the first. The A/C works perfectly. The Master bedroom is roomy i would suggest you bring your own pillows to sleep on as well. Both bed rooms met our needs and the kitchen has plenty of storage and all appliances worked well. The outside deck with the rocking chairs to me is the best part, having breakfast or a late nignt drink is recommended The bathroom although small has adequate storage and a fine working shower. There is also an outside shower in the garage which i used. The washer and dryer work great. There are plenty of chairs and a wagon to bring to the beach. The cottage has another bedroom downstairs separate from the main house. My oldest son stayed there. It may not be for everyone but queen bed, bathroom and privacy await you. I absolutely loved this cottage and plan on staying there again in the future.

We have lived in Raleigh, NC, for 30 years, although I originated in Washington, DC, and my husband in North Dakota, combining a military family and an academia family. We both went to school here in NC at UNC-CH and NCSU.

Why they chose this property

We love WB for its family-friendly atmosphere and because many of our favorite things to do here are within walking distance, and it's only 2 hrs away from where we live in Raleigh. Our cottage is located in the heart of the island, 2 blocks from recently restored Johnny Mercer's Pier where you can pick up Sunday papers. Our 2 daughters grew up spending summers here and have many fond memories of time spent with friends and family.

What makes this property unique

Our cottage was built in 1939 and has the charm and coziness of an older cottage--good bones, you might say. The sunrises, sunsets and breezes on the porch are soothing, as are the birds chirping in the mulberry tree and Chinese Elm outback. Breezes from the ocean and the sound flow through, lulling guests to calm, peace, connectedness.
