The space

A 50 hectares farm of wild mountain landscape, tamed by an artistic settling with unique craft safari tents embed in nature.
The land is a retreat by itself. Bathed by nature under an amazing starlight sky, Quinta Alma is a beautiful composition of hills and valleys, with a water stream and a 5000 square meter lake, surrounded by wild flowers, seasonal forest berries and mushrooms, ancient and recent trees, owls, eagles and wild boars. Bird watching, stargazing and trekking are just a few of the many meditative activities that you can embark at Quinta Alma.

Guest access

Guests have access to walk all around the 50 hectares as long respecting the non-fire and non-smoking. They can swim in the lake and enjoy a private beach.
Breakfast is self service and you can choose from home made tricks, local production greens and fruits, and healthy starters.
We have bikes for guests to use but you also can bring your own; and we have a small telescope for a summer Moon hunt in the warm summer evenings.
The breakfast deck is also a common relax lounge with books and board games, Wi-fi, and some Hammocks in the pine shades.
If you want to spend a day in the beach we can prepare a picnic basket just for you, or a Special Breakfast/Brunch so you don't leave your Safari Tent that day (prices according to different menus).
In Quinta Alma there is also a place for kids to play :) a wooden playhouse, and outside games and toys are ready for the small adventurous kids. This Area is in front of the chill-out area and breakfast, so parents can see their children without being right above them.
Childcare or babysitting for parents to have a romantic evening might be also possible under request.

Other things to note

Quinta Alma is a place for Nature Lovers :) and to reconnected again with Mother Earth. Although all interiors are thought and prepared for your maximum comfort and pleasure during your staying, please remember that we are in Nature. Our advice is that you to bring some comfort shoes and a small head or hand light :)
It is also highly recommendable to bring binoculars for birdwatching.

Location · Joana’s home is located in Aljezur, Faro, Portugal. It’s 31 miles from Portimão Airport. It’s 24 miles from Airport Faro Transfers.
The neighbourhood is great , a lot to see and enjoy, fantastic food and restaurants, thermal waters in Monchique, just 30 minutes away into the mountain. You also can enjoy horse ridding, amazing trekking, local food markets and fairs...
Surfing is hot in the area so you can have surf lessons or surf trips.
Off road is also highly enjoyable and there are several renting options around.
For those who like massages and well being therapies - this is your spoiling spot! We can help you find your professional expert and also guide you to the Monchique Thermal waters, one of the best in Portugal.
For the ones who like to party, the area has some interesting offers, specially in Summer. For example, every Friday there is a special meeting called Happy Friday's Pizza night, in a hidden spot in the mountains, and some special flea markets on every different Sundays.
If you appreciate organic and less organic greens and fruits, you can help yourself every Saturday at the Aljezur market… right from the producer to your basket.

Getting around

The best is to have bring a car … this area of the country offers the best natural treasures, like world class beaches, natural trekking and amazing birds. However, public transportation is not the best here. We believe this is also why the beaches are not overcrowded even in August...
We are half an hour away from Lagos, and in the middle of Costa Vicentina, so a lot to explore and be amazed in a 50km ratio.
