About this property

Mountain Estate On 34 Acres

We have private, quiet lodging on our 34 acre estate away from the main house. Open space all around. No highway noise out here. The vacation rental is a chalet style second story lodging on top of a large garage not used during the rental months and it has your own private entrance, driveway, and a private yard with a picnic table in the trees.
There is also a covered carport, plenty of parking and a pull through if you have a boat or trailer. There are 2 bedrooms, both with handmade log beds, comfortable bedding, and quilts. The bedroom windows do overlook the owner's property behind the rental.
There is a1 bathroom with a tub shower combination with plenty of large soft towels. There is a washer and dryer for your cleaning needs. There is wood flooring throughout, with throw rugs to give you that feel of rustic lodging in the mountains and granite counter tops in the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen has the utensils you need to enjoy cooking. A breakfast bar or a table that seats six will make anywhere you eat enjoyable. Or if you prefer to eat outdoors, there is a BBQ and a table with seating on the balcony deck in the trees so you can sit, eat, drink, and enjoy your meals viewing the great rocky mountain range. The living room has a new queen sofa sleeper and love seat that is grouped around an entertainment center for relaxing after a day of exploring Glacier Park, Flathead Lake or one of the many other beautiful areas to visit. We have high speed wireless internet and a large flat screen satellite TV. We also have hiking on the estate or nearby. Jewel Basin is only 7 miles to the trail head , Strawberry lake is 4 miles to the trail head, and 5 miles to the Peters Ridge trail head.
If you feel like a lazy day by Krause Creek , which flows through our meadows below the mountain range, you can have a picnic with your own picnic table with breathtaking views of the Swan range. There is also huckleberry picking in the area and your hosts can give you a few directions so you can have the experience of picking your own berries. Located halfway between Bigfork and Kalispell, against the Rockies. Flathead lake is 10 miles south, and Glacier park 30 Miles north. Fun in every direction.

Very Quiet and Relaxing

Great Place For Your Getaway

We enjoyed our Montana vacation and this Vrbo provided a quiet place to stay, while enjoying our morning views of wildlife. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary items you need to cook. We enjoyed eating some of our meals on the deck. The place is well kept and we had no issues with checking in.

Peace and quiet

Up in the woods no neighbors around at all. If you want to be close to town but out in the woods this is perfect. Very nice cabin. 2nd floor so there are stairs. If you want to be very close to the park like 15 mins this would not be the place. It was 45 min to the park but we had road construction as well.

Absolutely wonderful

My fiancée and I spent the long weekend here to visit glacier and the surrounding area. It’s in a great location with so many good food options around within close proximity of the park. It was fantastic to come home to a quiet location after being in the car a lot of the day. Evan & Debbie we’re fantastic and brought us over coffee when the machine stopped working and we’re the best hosts. The place was cool in the heat wave that came through!

Very nice

Drove up from Missoula and stayed here for a couple nights on our way to Galcier National Park. Had a fun time at the Great Bear Festival in Kalispell. Hiked Mt. Aeneas, which was a short drive away. Wanted to do Strawberry Lake too, but, the Mt. Aeneas hike drained us. This stay had everything we needed.. a grill to cook out on with a little deck to enjoy the night sky. Everything was so clean and comfy. We enjoyed ourselves here for sure!

Just a little less than we expected

PROS: Great opportunity to see wildlife. Saw deer, turkeys, and much more CONS: I thought the listing used the term privacy pretty loosely. Wasn’t expecting the main bedroom view to be overlooking the owner’s house. Additionally, some of the pictures I believe were taken at the time the cabin was built, as the trees towards the mountains are now much larger.

Absolutely Perfect

This place was everything we wanted. Although we didn’t get to see any bears on the property, we did get to see a shooting star while we stargazed from the balcony. This was the perfect spot for us to come “home” to everyday after exploring Glacier National Park. The place was stocked with almost everything we needed to have some meals in, and grilling on the balcony had spectacular views. The beds were really comfortable, and it was nice to have a choice between a softer bed or a firmer bed. I really appreciated that! The only thing that didn’t go our way was that the morning we left, there was no hot water which made for an uncomfortable, quick shower. I’ve seen some comments about the internet having issues. My phone did just fine with the wifi, while my boyfriend’s phone kicked him off about every five minutes. Not sure if it just depends on the service provider or not. Again, this place was beautiful, and I’ve told all my friends how perfect it was!

Beautiful!

Check in was easy and the property was beautiful. We had a scenic drive and we saw lots of deer and had lovely views on our way in and out of town! One of the nights we stayed a doe walked onto the property which we watched for quite a while from the balcony. The house is beautiful and the beds and couches were comfy. Will be coming back the next time we are in Montana!

Lovely property

We were in Kalispell to visit family that lived in the property on the same road. Was very convenient and very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodations could not have nicer. It is very nicely appointed and the beds are especially comfortable. Needed to contact owners regarding the television and they were readily available and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this property.

Great out of the way place to stay

Awesome cabin, very quite. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone coming to visit the area. Only thing that could be improved upon is the Wifi, cell service is minimal at best out there and a better wifi would’ve been appreciated. If that’s not a concern, as this is a great location to get away from the noise, then disregard. Hosts made everything very simple, cabin was clean and warmed up nicely for the cool days.

Highly recommend

We enjoyed our stay very much! We will definitely return and recommend this to anyone visiting Glacier National Park. The property and cabin is beautiful. Extremely clean, comfy beds and has everything you need. Deer and turkeys visit daily and we heard some coyotes a couple of nights. We stayed 4 nights and wish we would’ve stayed longer. It’s very peaceful and quiet and Fall is spectacular in Glacier.

Peaceful retreat

Very relaxing place to stay. We visited glacier national park and wanted a quiet place to land each night after a day a the park. This fit the bill perfectly. Took about 45 minutes to get from the property to the park gate. Along the way saw some beautiful scenery and lots of deer. Enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning watching the deer, squirrels and rabbits. Owners are great to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. Great experience!

Comfort and Serenity

This two bedroom cabin is nestled close to the mountains with fabulous hiking trails withing a couple of miles from the property. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were very comfortable and washer and dryer inside the unit was very convenient! Deer and turkeys visited the grounds morning and night. Evan and Debbie were very gracious hosts, always available to answer questions about the area. We loved staying here and look forward to our return.

Beautiful Property, Great Hosts, and Very Clean and Comfortable!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed four days here and wish we could have stayed longer! The property is gorgeous and can be enjoyed right from the deck or explored on foot. The photos truly do not do it justice: mountain views through tall trees, a stream flowing across a meadow, etc etc. The house is well-appointed with comfy beds, nice furniture, fully-stocked kitchen, and a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. If we needed anything Evan or Debbie responded quickly via phone call or text. They even brought over aluminum foil in a couple of minutes when we realized we needed some. Evan was fun to talk with and full of information about the local wildlife and hiking trails. We didn't get to meet Debbie in-person but she was very kind over the phone. They even put up a Happy Birthday sign for us and left cupcakes and candles. We loved staying at Evan's and Debbie's rental and hope to return again soon. Thanks for the great accommodations!

Hosted by Debbie

Evan and Debbie both work in Kalispell. In our spare time we are usually fishing, hunting, rock hounding, or visiting relatives and sightseeing around Montana. It depends on the season or weather. We compete with each other all year to see who can catch the biggest fish. He knows the area very well and has many a hunting story to tell. We are always willing to direct you in the right direction to enjoy our local attractions. Debbie is an artist who does a little bit of everything, be it sculpture, painting, or making jewelry out of antlers, Montana agates or anything that is from nature. She travels to several shows in the Montana area and has been successful in selling nature theme jewelry. The holidays are quite busy here and with snow and Christmas lights, seems quite magical. Lots of snow for you snow lovers! Not too hot in the summer around here either. Really nice area and climate.

Why they chose this property

Flathead Valley is a recreational paradise, with spectacular scenery. We live southeast of Kalispell at the base of the Swan Range of the Rocky Mountains. We like it out here because you can relax without any noise.

What makes this property unique

The mountain view is what made us buy this place. After a busy day at work we both look forward to coming home, eating dinner, sipping a glass of wine, relaxing, and the mountains are always right there to look at from the house or deck.
