About this property

Mountain Estate On 34 Acres

We have private, quiet lodging on our 34 acre estate away from the main house. Open space all around. No highway noise out here. The vacation rental is a chalet style second story lodging on top of a large garage not used during the rental months and it has your own private entrance, driveway, and a private yard with a picnic table in the trees.
There is also a covered carport, plenty of parking and a pull through if you have a boat or trailer. There are 2 bedrooms, both with handmade log beds, comfortable bedding, and quilts. The bedroom windows do overlook the owner's property behind the rental.
There is a1 bathroom with a tub shower combination with plenty of large soft towels. There is a washer and dryer for your cleaning needs. There is wood flooring throughout, with throw rugs to give you that feel of rustic lodging in the mountains and granite counter tops in the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen has the utensils you need to enjoy cooking. A breakfast bar or a table that seats six will make anywhere you eat enjoyable. Or if you prefer to eat outdoors, there is a BBQ and a table with seating on the balcony deck in the trees so you can sit, eat, drink, and enjoy your meals viewing the great rocky mountain range. The living room has a new queen sofa sleeper and love seat that is grouped around an entertainment center for relaxing after a day of exploring Glacier Park, Flathead Lake or one of the many other beautiful areas to visit. We have high speed wireless internet and a large flat screen satellite TV. We also have hiking on the estate or nearby. Jewel Basin is only 7 miles to the trail head , Strawberry lake is 4 miles to the trail head, and 5 miles to the Peters Ridge trail head.
If you feel like a lazy day by Krause Creek , which flows through our meadows below the mountain range, you can have a picnic with your own picnic table with breathtaking views of the Swan range. There is also huckleberry picking in the area and your hosts can give you a few directions so you can have the experience of picking your own berries. Located halfway between Bigfork and Kalispell, against the Rockies. Flathead lake is 10 miles south, and Glacier park 30 Miles north. Fun in every direction.

Great, comfortable stay at a clean, well equipped house for our family of six. Excellent location for privacy and close proximity to all needed amenities, food etc. Served as a convenient home base for our daily Glacier activities and the owners were super helpful with our requests.

Awesome beautiful place.

Secluded Serenity

Wonderful (upstairs) cabin with everything you could want. This is one of my favorite VRBO rentals of all. Cozy, but not cramped. Great amenities, clean and well appointed. Wildlife on the property and sometimes at your front door. Beautiful, quite and far away from the crowds at GNP. A perfect place to unwind.

Wi girls trip to Glacier

It was a beautiful property right outside bigfork surrounded by a well maintained woods on the owners property. The mornings were great waking up to deer in the yard. Not far from Glacier and the Flathead National Forest. Perfect for outdoor adventures.

Beautiful Setting

We enjoyed our stay, so much. This property is in such a beautiful setting and the home is very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. At the end of busy days of sightseeing and visiting with family in the area, it was wonderful to come back to this beautiful, relaxing home. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is definitely off the beaten path. The only hiccup was when we arrived the owners were not expecting us - apparently Vrbo did not inform them that we had booked!!! Not good for you Vrbo!! They were very gracious and apologized even though it was not their fault. Other than that, our stay was great!

Very Quiet and Relaxing

We were very happy with our stay. We were just as content hanging out at the cabin for the day as we were venturing out. We would definitely stay here again. The balcony patio was a great place to start and end the day. Everything we needed was already at the cabin.

Great Place For Your Getaway

We enjoyed our Montana vacation and this Vrbo provided a quiet place to stay, while enjoying our morning views of wildlife. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary items you need to cook. We enjoyed eating some of our meals on the deck. The place is well kept and we had no issues with checking in.

Lovely property

We were in Kalispell to visit family that lived in the property on the same road. Was very convenient and very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodations could not have nicer. It is very nicely appointed and the beds are especially comfortable. Needed to contact owners regarding the television and they were readily available and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this property.

A little piece of Paraduse !!

Everything exceeded expectations !! The cabin was very nice , cozy , and clean with all the amenities !! The deck was a favorite place to watch wildlife , view the mountains in the distance, eat outside, and just sit and take in the smell of the trees and the beautiful surroundings !!!

Beautiful home on beautiful property

We stayed here for 3 nights as our final stop on a week in Montana. This was the perfect ending to our vacation - the house is fantastic and the hosts are just as great! The lot is private but adjacent to the hosts' home (nice in case you need anything), the wildlife was fun to watch (deer, turkeys) and the location kept us relatively close to Glacier National Park without being surrounded by other tourists. The home is well equipped and very nicely decorated; it's obvious the hosts care about their rental and renters. I definitely recommend this place!

Very nice

Drove up from Missoula and stayed here for a couple nights on our way to Galcier National Park. Had a fun time at the Great Bear Festival in Kalispell. Hiked Mt. Aeneas, which was a short drive away. Wanted to do Strawberry Lake too, but, the Mt. Aeneas hike drained us. This stay had everything we needed.. a grill to cook out on with a little deck to enjoy the night sky. Everything was so clean and comfy. We enjoyed ourselves here for sure!

Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer

Because of our schedule we were only able to stay for 2 days, and really would have liked to stay for more! The cabin is very comfortable, has pretty much all you would need for living, and Debbie has gone over and above and provided some of the little extras that aren't necessary, but are nice to have. The view is wonderful, and we enjoyed barbecuing, eating, and having our coffee in the morning out on the deck. It is a peaceful place to visit, and we would return in second! Thanks for sharing your home!

Peaceful retreat

Very relaxing place to stay. We visited glacier national park and wanted a quiet place to land each night after a day a the park. This fit the bill perfectly. Took about 45 minutes to get from the property to the park gate. Along the way saw some beautiful scenery and lots of deer. Enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning watching the deer, squirrels and rabbits. Owners are great to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. Great experience!

Just a little less than we expected

PROS: Great opportunity to see wildlife. Saw deer, turkeys, and much more CONS: I thought the listing used the term privacy pretty loosely. Wasn’t expecting the main bedroom view to be overlooking the owner’s house. Additionally, some of the pictures I believe were taken at the time the cabin was built, as the trees towards the mountains are now much larger.

What an absolutely wonderful home away from home. The cabin is spacious, fully stocked with cooking utensils, and located in a remote enough spot to see lots of wildlife. Debbie and Evan did everything to make us feel welcomed, including muffins for the first morning, a personal tour of their beautiful home and grounds, and even lent us bear spray for our daily hikes in Glacier National Park. We really enjoyed our evenings hanging out on the porch, talking, playing cards, and watching the wildlife. We saw three different black bears (that we called Winnie, Mr. Black, and Mr. Big), wild turkeys, white tailed deer, a snowshoe hare, chipmunks and squirrels, and a robin family with a nest of baby birds that progressed in stages throughout our stage. Just a terrific time at a great place.

Absolutely Perfect

This place was everything we wanted. Although we didn’t get to see any bears on the property, we did get to see a shooting star while we stargazed from the balcony. This was the perfect spot for us to come “home” to everyday after exploring Glacier National Park. The place was stocked with almost everything we needed to have some meals in, and grilling on the balcony had spectacular views. The beds were really comfortable, and it was nice to have a choice between a softer bed or a firmer bed. I really appreciated that! The only thing that didn’t go our way was that the morning we left, there was no hot water which made for an uncomfortable, quick shower. I’ve seen some comments about the internet having issues. My phone did just fine with the wifi, while my boyfriend’s phone kicked him off about every five minutes. Not sure if it just depends on the service provider or not. Again, this place was beautiful, and I’ve told all my friends how perfect it was!

Peace and quiet

Up in the woods no neighbors around at all. If you want to be close to town but out in the woods this is perfect. Very nice cabin. 2nd floor so there are stairs. If you want to be very close to the park like 15 mins this would not be the place. It was 45 min to the park but we had road construction as well.

Evan and Debbie both work in Kalispell. In our spare time we are usually fishing, hunting, rock hounding, or visiting relatives and sightseeing around Montana. It depends on the season or weather. We compete with each other all year to see who can catch the biggest fish. He knows the area very well and has many a hunting story to tell. We are always willing to direct you in the right direction to enjoy our local attractions. Debbie is an artist who does a little bit of everything, be it sculpture, painting, or making jewelry out of antlers.

Why they chose this property

Flathead Valley is a recreational paradise, with spectacular scenery. We live southeast of Kalispell at the base of the Swan Range of the Rocky Mountains. We like it out here because you can relax without any noise.

What makes this property unique

The mountain view is what made us buy this place. After a busy day at work we both look forward to coming home, eating dinner, sipping a glass of wine, relaxing, and the mountains are always right there to look at from the house or deck.
