About this property

Wood Lake is a 500+ acre lake - great for boating and fishing and just 90 minutes from the Twin Cities. The cabin is well maintained with 2 large bedrooms, a spacious loft, bathroom and kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. We are on Big Wood Lake with 140 feet of lake shore. The fishing is awesome and the site for a number of Bass tournaments. If you are looking for more than lake activities there are 3 - 18 hole golf courses nearby and Siren, WI is close by with restaurants, bars, lodging, movie theaters and miniature golf.

The docks are included with the cabin and there is a nice public landing on the lake.

Perfect Getaway Cabin!

Our family loved our time here!! Beautiful cabin with plenty of games for the kids. The pontoon rental was the icing on the cake. Wood Lake is a hidden gem.

We have been going to this lake for 40+ years through many generations and after we lost our last cabin we found this one. Hands down this is the best cabin we have ever stayed at with everything you need to enjoy fishing or recreation.

We love the location. The cabin was very comfortable and had all the amenities. The cabin was clean, and the pontoon worked great. The owners were very quick to respond with any concerns or questions. We have rented it 2 years in a row and both times we have had a great stay.

Beautiful cabin on an fantastic lake

This is a beautiful cabin with everything you need to enjoy the lake. They do have TV and internet if some in your group need that, but the main attraction is the fishing / pleasures of the lake. You can water ski, pontoon around,or fish. In the evening they have a firepit over looking the lake to reflect on your day. We hope to keep coming back for many years.

Great Property

Perfect private lot and accessible to everything you need because stores are just a few minutes away. This cabin has everything you need - paddle boards, swimming dock, fire pit, fully stocked kitchen and boat available to rent. Loved it!

We have stayed at this VRBO about 8 years and we always look forward to next years "cabin week". We always rent the pontoon for a sunset cruise around the lake. It is a five star for sure.

Great Cabin on a Great Lake!

We loved this cabin for our family. It had everything we needed and more. We had a 3 year old and 1 year old. The cabin was perfect for them to crawl and walk around. The outdoor space is perfect for yard games and relaxing. We loved the speaker system in the house and outside. We rented the pontoon and used it multiple times a day. Geoff and Katherine responded to any messages extremely fast.

Fishing Getaway

My dad and I had a good time. Weather was very good for the most part. Beautiful sunsets. Pontoon was very nice..could have used a depth finder. Fishing was steady but a lot of small panfish and crappies. Cabin was spacious and clean. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend.

Quintessential, picture-perfect family cabin!

Our family had the most relaxing getaway over MEA at this quintessential, picture-perfect cabin. The pictures don't do this gem justice ... it is truly the cleanest cabin we've ever rented. The layout is perfect for a family (open but with plenty of space for everyone). The owners have thought of everything. Extra hooks in the rooms/bathroom and bedroom mirrors are features you never knew you needed until you realize you don't have to store your towel on the floor and you can put your hair up in your bedroom while someone else is showering. The huge windows and main gathering space were perfect for cozy fires, games, reading, chatting and sipping hot cocoa. And we loved the coffee table by the fire for putting together a family puzzle. We were thrilled to discover how private this cabin is ... so many cabins are squished in so tightly together but this one is spacious and private inside and out. Early morning fishing on the dock felt mystical with the fog/mist and we felt like we were the only ones around. We went for a couple of hikes nearby and stopped (twice!) at Burnett County Dairy for a treat. It truly was a wonderful getaway and we hope to return!

Perfect Cabin Get-a-way

Awesome little retreat up north! Great lake to pontoon on. Cabin has everything you need to cook all of your meals if you decide to eat in. Beds are comfortable. Nice fire pit right by the lake. Gracious hosts!

Annual Family Retreat

One of the nicest vacations our family has taken here in the midwest. Every year we look for different lake locations whether in MN or WI. This Lake Shore Cabin was perfect from the cabin location, fishing, pontoon excursions, sunsets from the dock to all the additional amenities that were available to our family. Cabin was spotless and was loaded with all you would ever need for a great weekend. We would do this again in a heartbeat!

We are renting our family cabin. Our children have grown up on the lake and have learned to ski, wake-board, tube and fish on Big Wood Lake.
