The experience we had with this stay was flawless. Everything that was in the listing was accurate and factual. We messaged the host a couple of times for some misc. questions and got a very quick response. The property was extremely clean, comfortable, quiet, and had all modern amenities you would expect. The views of the lake and mountain were stunning. I can without hesitation recommend this property to anyone needing a quiet and stress-free place to unwind. We stay in this region a lot and if this property is available, it will be our 1st choice.
Thank you
House was very clean and well equipped. Quiet and serene setting. Peaceful and relaxing. Home owners were very nice and responded to my questions promptly. Had beautiful weather the entire week of our stay. Love the beautiful state of Maine!
We had a great time. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over lake. Near hiking and biking trails. Lots of bodies of water to SUP board on. Pleasant people in and around town.
Lovely cottage right on Moosehead Lake. Located close to town of Greenville , Comfortable and clean. Beautiful deck looking out on the lake. The house is equipped with everything you would need. The area is magnificent. So much natural beauty. We fished and kayaked and took long drives taking it all in. Hosts Steve and Barbet are friendly and responsive to needs. This rental is fabulous.
It was very well maintained and fully equipped. It had everything you could want. Barbet greeted up when we arrived, showed us inside and told us about the area. She even had homemade bread and jam for us which was a very nice touch and it tasted delicious. There was a gas grill that we did our cooking on and a washer and dryer in the basement that we used to wash a load of laundry. The area is very beautiful. We fished a couple of times but didn’t catch anything. We drove a lot of back gravel roads and ended up seeing 9 moose which was very exciting. We hope to come back again sometime.
My 2 grandsons and I stayed for 3 nights as we were working on our property on the Toe of the Boot in Rockwood. The place was spotless on arrival. It was os quiet at night and the beds were so comfortable. We have been to Rockwood and Greenville on many occasions. We have tented on our property, stayed at luxury B&Bs, stayed at local motels and camps etc. This place is right at or near the top for cleanliness and solitude. Looking forward to a return visit in the future.
The house may not be much to look at from the road but do not be fooled. The inside is very nice and had all the amenities we could have wanted. As others have noted, the cleanliness really stood out when we arrived, too.
The location is fantastic, right on the water with the mountains in the background. We enjoyed watching the ducks play on the dock, and were lucky enough to see and hear loons once too!
We wished the weather had been better so that we could have sat outside on the deck or the Adirondack chairs more than we were able to do.
If we choose to visit Moosehead Lake again, we would definitely rent again.
This was the perfect getaway. Location is ideal: close to downtown, on the water, easily accessible. We have been wanting to share Moosehead with our friends and this was the perfect place to stay and base our adventures from. Barbet was a thoughtful host and really had everything well organized and available for us. There is nothing that we would have changed! (except for maybe different beds in the second guest room, twins were small for adults). Thanks for a great weekend!
When we entered the home, we immediately felt welcome. It was very clean and decorated so nicely with moose themes. Unfortunately it was a rainy weekend so we were not able to enjoy the porch or grill, but the kitchen was well stocked so we were fine. I really appreciated that basic spices and seasonings were available. The jam, syrup and poppy bread gift was a nice surprise. The neighborhood was not what I expected. I thought we would be more secluded and closer to the lake rather than to the road.
The property and location met all our expectations. The host were great, the property clean, and Moosehead Lake is a special place. The area is at the doorstep of the North Maine Woods, home to a wide variety of wildlife, hikers trails, and beautiful remote lakes and ponds. Even though we had several days of rainy weather there was plenty of things for us to do. One of our best vacation home experiences.
This was a great place to call home base and enjoy all the great things the Moosehead Lake area has to offer. The home was wonderfully appointed and vacation ready with lots of amenities that we didn’t expect. The location is perfect and close to all the Greenville restaurants as well. We highly recommend this property if you are looking to stay in this area.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed having this as our home base. It was close to town & on a side street so it was quiet. It was the perfect size for the 3 of us and VERY clean! All the amenities you need too. I would definitely recommend this rental !
We loved staying at this cute cottage! Spotless, beautifully decorated, and the view of the lake was gorgeous! We enjoyed watching the seaplanes come and go too! Our weather was perfect and allowed us to sit out in the Adirondack chairs to watch the lake. We hope to be able to return someday!!
For our first time vrbo-ing it was fantastic. There were 3 of us and the house was the perfect size. Beds were great, slept well. Thanks for a great time. We hope to be back.
We had a great stay at your cottage. I read comments about the air planes but we didn’t have any issues with the noise. And that’s from someone who hates noise pollution. Thank you for a wonderful, clean, safe, and comfortable place to call home over the long weekend.
We stayed here last year and couldn't be happier with the location! Very clean premises, excellent communication with owners, plenty of provisions as your home away from home. The property is a cental location to town, Moosehead Lake and beyond. We brought our boat this year and utilized the available dock. Hope to return next year!
We had a wonderful weekend stay in Greenville. This house was immaculate! Very close to town and everything we wanted to go do. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and relaxing! Highly recommend!
The home was lovely! It was updated and had everything we needed. The master bedroom was spacious with French doors looking out on the lake. The bathroom was spacious as well. We loved the home.
We were not pleased with the location next to train and planes taking off. It was however close to town.
Road construction directly in front of Our house. There was continuous noise and ground shaking from heavy equipment 20 feet away. One of our vehicles got a chipped windshield from flying debris.
Not sure if owners were aware of this construction. If we had known we would have rescheduled or looked for a different location.
