This is the largest of our 1930’s Cabins and will sleep 11. The Great Room has an oval dining table with 6 leather chairs and can take a couple folding chairs to seat 8 next to windows with a stunning view of the lake. Also this large L shaped Great Room has 3 Bunk Beds that double as a Futon Couch during the day and makes into a Double/Full Bed at night with a Twin Bed up top. During the day, they are couches and at night beds giving plenty of seating space. There is a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a large fully appointed kitchen with small eating space, refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. The bathroom has a period cast iron crow-foot bathtub converted to a shower. The spacious deck has a awesome view of the lake to watch your family play, table and chairs with your personal charcoal BBQ. In the bedroom there is a window A/C and two portable A/C units for additional comfort. Wi-Fi available but bring a good book to RELAX and get away from it all for a while!

Had a great time!

It was everything it said! Rustic for sure. It’s a great place to unwind. Our three teen boys put their phones away and fished and enjoyed each other. Ron and Bob were excellent and very much great host.

Do your research on the area

Ron’s cabin and property are exactly as described- rustic and cozy, away from it all, great spot to relax. However, climate change has hit Clear Lake really hard and the low lake levels have been the perfect breeding ground for foul smelling, pervasive algae. We had a bunch of teens in our group who were so excited to fish off the deck and swim (description on website is jump off the pier, tons of swimming fun) but that wasn’t possible due to the algae. It was so thick my son’s lures were lost. Ron and the caretaker Bob were communicative and kind. They told me the weekend they were there was the worst in the 50 years they’d been on the lake. I know this was out of their hands. But I do think they could change the language on the website to describe the reality of visiting the lake. Had we done some research ourselves, we would have skipped Clear Lake since being in the water was actually why we came. If that’s not a big deal to you, this place is great to relax and enjoy the shade from the many trees and breeze (assuming the stench isn’t there that day).

Nice lake front location

Cabin is rustic but functional. Property is in a secluded area with a great location for lake access via a boat.

Private Beach, Gorgeous Estate, Great Hosts

We took our c-level leadership team up to Clearlake for a weekend retreat and choose Honeymoon Cove because of the FANTASTIC REVIEWS, especially since they upgraded the grounds and buildings and new DELIGHTFUL MANAGERS came on board. It's not a five-star resort, but that isn't what we were looking for. The large cabin was the PERFECT CHOICE for us, bigger than what we needed, but rustic, unbelievable view of the calming lake, tons of shade everywhere, great amenities, BBQ both on the deck and down on the grassy picnic area next to the PRIVATE BEACH, and the internet was much better than expected. The 15-minute ride up the peninsula was a SPECTACULAR DRIVE, lake views on both the left and right side, which most people probably miss who stay in town. One recommendation, BOOK EARLY. By the time we booked a few weeks out, only one cabin was available -- it turned out great for us, but I have already booked both a cabin plus the luxury apartment for next year (gotta see it to believe it, although I really like the 1930s CABIN EXPERIENCE, which maintains its historic charm and rustic feel even though it was upgraded with A/C and tile and marble counters, etc).

Private getaway

Access here is limited so no crowds to contend with though no stores closer than a 20 minute drive either. Shaded private beach and dock with space for 2 boats. Scenic views, air conditioned cabin. Great fishing too as we caught largemouth bass, catfish and bluegill right off dock and beach. Cabin 1 sleeps 11 but it is tight and 3 must be on top bunk. Dog friendly too.

Clear Lake's hidden gem

Honeymoon Cove Resort is the hidden gem of Clear Lake. My family visited there for a week this June. There were 11 of us ranging in age from young children to grandparents. We stayed in the Rustic Cabin and it was perfect for us. The cabin has clean, comfortable accommodations, a nice kitchen, a deck with a private BBQ, and a beautiful view of the lake and the beach. The beach is gently sloped and the water depth increases gradually. It is perfect for children to play and enjoy the water. The resort property is just beautiful. There is a large shaded grass area where the kids can run around and play as well as cute little get-away areas to read quietly or have a glass of wine. There is also a hammock and swings to just relax and enjoy the beauty of Clear Lake. Since the resort is located in a cove, the water is clear and calm and it is great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. The managers, Susan and Ray, were very sweet and helpful and made our stay a wonderful experience. My family fell in love with Honeymoon Cove resort and I’m sure you will too. We can’t wait to go back next year. I give Honeymoon Cove Resort 5 plus stars. Bindy, Bob, and family

Beautiful Relaxing Retreat!

An amazingly tranquil setting for which the pictures don't do justice! The cabin is rustic but very clean, and you definitely feel like you're in a private oasis. We brought our boat and two dogs, launched and docked the boat right in front of our cabin, and didn't leave the entry gates except by boat for the next four days. There's a cute waterside bar/cafe about 5 min. boat ride, then charming Lakeport about 25 minutes by boat. The owner and hosts are amazingly welcoming and will answer any question, offer suggestions, and do everything to make your stay perfect--ask them in advance or when you're there what to do/where to get anything and they're more than happy to help. We're actually heading back already again this weekend and can't wait!
