SunGlade West is a beautiful 3 story home right on the beach. Only steps away to splash in the gulf. The beach is your back yard!

SunGlade West now has availability to rent both sides. East and West. Each side is a mirror image. This VRBO site is the amount for one side (5 BRM 3 Bath). Ask me about discounts. Find me “Kim Pierson Sunglade.” For SunGlade-West, the second story (main level) has a spacious living area that overlooks the private pool and the beach beyond. Our beach house is located enough away from the high rise condos that makes the beach less crowded and less chaotic. But, close enough to easily walk to the hangout and all the entertainment. The living area leads to a balcony to sit and relax. But, close enough toLook for the dolphins! This level also includes a dining room and large kitchen fully equipped, makes it easy to cook for the whole gang. Lastly, this level has bedroom #1 that is spacious with a king bed and a full bathroom. This room leads to a private balcony.

Upstairs on the third story (upper level) you have a gulf front master bedroom #2 with a King bed with its own oversized full bath. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the garden tub! This room has its own private gulf front balcony with such an amazing view that it will take your breath away! The middle bedroom #3 has a bunk bed with a bonus trundle bed. This room sleeps 4 with a full mattress and two twin beds. The front bedroom #4 is spacious with a King bed. There is a full bath shared by these two rooms. Lastly, the laundry room has a huge industrial front load Maytag washer and dryer.

On the lower ground level (1st story) you will find a warm welcoming foyer and bedroom #5. It has the same set up as the middle room on the top story with a bunk bed and a bonus trundle that has a full mattress and two twins; sleeps 4. Of course, every room has a flatscreen T.V. with cable and wifi.

Enjoy your own beach side pool complete with lounge chairs and tables. While many of the beach side pools you'll find are tiny splash pools, that isn't the case at SunGlade. Enjoy a large pool with the best views you can imagine! A charcoal grill is also provided to grill some steaks and seafood!

SunGlade is a duplex, two full houses. Each side is a mirror image. There is enough room to park six cars comfortably.

SunGlade is located in the laid-back West Beach area of Gulf Shores, just 1.7 miles west of Hwy 59 and the Hangout.

You are away from the condos and crowds, but close enough to walk to all the awesome tourist places. Also blessed to have a shopping center Across the street diagonally. There you will find a well stocked Convenient store, Liquor store, best icecream store in town, seafood market, and an awesome Restaurant with homemade items.

We ask that all reservations in June and July be made Saturday to Saturday. This helps with the flow of the rental and ensures proper and consistent cleaning. This also helps you, the renter, with your travel into and out of town. Sunglade is owned by Kim and Jeff Pierson. It’s our dream come true! We are real people with a great love for our house and are honored to have others to also enjoy our home amd make amazing memories and tons of fun! Not a corporation that owns many places. We originally bought as one side to be our personal full time home with Jeff working at the hospital. As we lived on one side, we rented the other side. An amazing life we had going! But, our first grandchild was born and we had to live by her in Auburn! We still come to the beach as much as we can. But, we now rent both sides.

Gulf Shores is a wonderful family-friendly location with gorgeous white-sand beaches. Enjoy the sand, surf and sun. Go on a dolphin cruise or try inshore or offshore fishing. Visit the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Waterville USA, the new OWA amusement park, or the Track.

Learn something new at historic Fort Morgan, Battleship Museum or the National Naval Air Museum (and watch the Blue Angels fly if you are lucky!). We even have a major Tanger outlet center just a few minutes north.

This place was AMAZING

Fall Break 2022
The location was very convenient. The beach was not crowded at all in front of our rental property. Our host was very responsive. The upper floor was awesome for our grandchildren and their parents to have lots of room.

GREAT LOCATION! Have a store a block down the street for easy runs to get stuff. Plenty of room. Beach was clean and easy walk from house. Pool was great for kids because it was only like 3 foot deep. House was clean and we had no issues with it. Plenty of stuff in kitchen for cooking in house. Would highly recommend. Communication with owner was excellent. I would book this place again in a heartbeat!

Extended Family Beach Trip
This property was perfect for our extended family beach trip. The house was well organized to give us plenty of space to be together in the kitchen, dining, and family room, and the bedrooms were spread out to give everyone space/quiet when needed. The private pool area was great when we wanted a break from the ocean. The private beach access was convenient for everyone to go back and forth as needed. They property was exactly as advertised. Communication with the property manager was always clear and prompt. They were very responsive to all our questions. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Highly reccomend this property.

We had a great week at SunGlade in Gulf Shores --- everything was exactly as shown on VRBO and we were even offered extra days on either end of the week since the property was available upon our trip dates ... that was very nice to even let us know that there was that option! Had plenty of room and my grandchildren enjoyed swimming in the pool ;-)

Perfect getaway for us, our grown children, grandson, and parents…4 generations!
Hurricane Ida tried to join us on our trip, we politely turned her away. Perfect location, close to all activities but far enough away for some peace and quiet! We loved the direct access to “our” beach and the pool was a great addition. The host was very responsive to messages. We had a great time with family.

Family vacation
We had a wonderful week at Gulf Shores! We really enjoyed the pool and being right on the beach. This house was conveniently located with a small store and ice cream shop within walking distance. We frequented the store with buying ice. The refrigerator is pretty small to hold food and drinks for our family of 13. I would recommend this place to others for their family vacation. There are a few kitchen items that need added (crock pot/electric griddle/sharp knives) but overall was a nice place to stay.

Family vacation
This wasn’t the best property we’ve stayed in but definitely not the worse either. It was adequate. Everyone had a bed to sleep in, a pool to swim in, and it is close to everything. The owners were very easy to work with and handled any issue that came up. There was more to do in the checkout process than anyplace we’ve stayed before. I am not a fan of guest washing and putting up towels before leaving. From a clean and sanitized standpoint. I think a cleaning service might do better with an industrial washing process. Not knowing the previous guests, I just wasn’t sure how well they had been cleaned. I think this property needs to have a good deep cleaning, kitchen restocked with pots & pans, and be updated some with furniture, flooring, and paint. The air duct system up stairs needs to be cleaned and sanitized. In spite of everything I’ve mentioned, we had a fun family vacation. I just think the changes I’ve suggested would make this house top-notch.

Loved the location and layout
This house is perfect for our three generation family. My husband & I loved staying in the bedroom near the kitchen as we're early risers. Our daughter & son-in-law stayed upstairs in the bedroom near the bunk room where their young children slept. The other upstairs bedroom was perfect for our son and his wife. Awesome location on a stretch of beach that was never crowded, and having a private pool was wonderful for the littles when they grew tired of the beach. Plenty of parking for our three vehicles.

We enjoyed our time at Gulf Shores, mostly due to the beach house. Everyone loved being right on the beach and also having a pool. House was clean. Kitchen was stocked nicely and had everything you could need. Great relaxing week!

Gulf Shores
Everything was as described. Had issues with upstairs air conditioning (compressor went out on recently new system). Owners acted quickly and technician came out the first night. Unfortunately, despite repairs, it was the compressor, so had to wait for repairs 3 more nights. Luckily, weather was mild so just left upstairs door open and a window open to allow ocean breezes to flow through. Owners were very responsive and offered to allow us to stay in their unit....was not necessary but gesture was appreciated. Pool was nice. Kitchen had plenty of plates,glasses, silverware. I would suggest a larger ref refrigerator when time to replace current one. Internet worked fine. Televisions in every bedroom. Beach was lovely. Plenty of good local restaurants around. Walmart was close by. Fishing charter was successful. Large washer/dryer upstairs was handy. Our first time to Gulf Shores.....have spent many vacations in Destin. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities.

Owner was difficult to work with.
The owner of this home was difficult to work with. Our stay was just after hurricane Sally hit Gulf Shores. She refused to refund our money or allow us to change the date of our stay. The island was actually closed to visitors and the beach was closed the week of our reservation. Since we could not get a refund we went anyway. When we arrived the owner’s brother was staying in the home and quite surprised to see us. We had to wait a few hours on him to clean the home and move out for us to move in. When he called the owner to inquire about our arrival, her question to me was ‘how did you even get in the island?’ It certainly felt like she was keeping our money think we would not come and her brother could use the home. I would not make a reservation for this home without trip insurance!!

Great Location, Pool, and Beach, but Property Needs Better Care and Management
The location was great. The pool in front of the home was blocked from the wind and received all day sun. The beach was just in front of the pool and was great with less people than other areas. However, the house just did not have the proper cleaning or maintenance to justify the amount we paid. We initially scheduled this for Spring Break, but even with travel restrictions from the pandemic, the Property Owner would not refund our money, so we re-scheduled in the Fall. The Owner was prompt in communication, but in my opinion, should have provided us a discount as the Property costs less in the Fall Break time verses the Spring Break timeframe. The Owner also retained some of our damage deposit for “left dirty towels in bathroom and … moved furniture and … unnecessarily dirty”, which does not seem like damage to me, but another way for them to overcharge. From reading other reviews, given the pandemic, and based on my communication with the Owner, my guess is that their business has lessened, and they are now doing maintenance and cleaning without professional help. This shows in the condition of the appliances and the musty smell and general grim that a deep cleaning would help fix. We have gone to Gulf Shores using VRBO many times and we will be going back to Gulf Shores, but we will be choosing a place with a proper property management company.

Fall Break Trip
This was a great house for our fall break trip. We had a couple of minor snags (oven falling apart, no handles/bars in the tubs) but the owner was quick to respond. The location is ideal. The pool is fantastic and spacious. Just a short walk to the beach and close to shops. The home is well stocked and was suitable for our family. The only suggestion beyond the updates needed is that the guests on the 1st floor had to travel upstairs for a bathroom and the only bathroom on the main level is in a master bedroom. Sort of inconvenient. Everything else about the stay was great!

Good location and pool but not properly cleaned and needs serious TLC
This was an expensive property that would have been justified by its location if it hadn’t been so poorly taken care of. The carpets and floors were filthy, some of the bedrooms smelled musty and the blankets and converlets needed a good wash and/or replacement. Especially during a pandemic, the washing and storage of towels and dishes should not have been left to the previous renters. Did they clean all the towels? Properly? Including the kitchen ones? Was the sponge new or used? Did we rent from them and were they responsible to us? No! At this price we expected at least some niceties. Soap for the showers/tubs, starter packs of laundry detergents, foil and plastic wrap from former guests. The house had been totally denuded of non-perishables. The pots and pans were terrible. There were no umbrellas for the pool area so no shade. I don’t know how to rate this. The physical site was great but the owners could have done so much more. With very little expense they could have made this a great rental and a wonderful experience.

My husband and I moved to Gulf Shores in 2016 and bought a duplex right on the beach! We began our journey of renting one side while we lived on the other side. I, Kim Pierson, have always manged the property which I enjoy. We recently moved to northern Alalbama to be close to our first granddauhgter. So, now we rent both sides of our dulex, Sunglade which means "a bright reflection of the sunlight on the water!' We love our beach home and believe you will too.

Why they chose this property

We love our location! West beach is the best area in Gulf Shoes. We are close enough to walk to the Hangout area, but far enough away from the high risers to crowd our beach! Our home is also across the street from the small strip mall. That has almost anything you need. The convenient store has food and all the beach things you would need. The icecream store is the same owners as the “yard!” Without the big lines. And our family loves all the food at the Beach House restaurant. They also have the store where you can buy seafood and they cook it for you!

What makes this property unique

We are blessed to have a big normal size pool! A lot of rentals don’t have pools at all. And the ones that do, they are SO Small!! If you rent both sides of the duplex, it is cool that we have a connecting door. We have a big kitchen with lots of cookware. Full size washer and dryer. Our rooms are big too and we don’t crowd them with lots of twin beds. We offer 3 king rooms. Plus the 2 rooms with full size bunk beds. Another thing I love about our home is that we have a balcony on the front of the house! Very few homes have that! I also like that we have a foyer. Instead of walking right into the stairs. We have a lot of space out front also. And of course number one thing we LOVE about our home, is seeing the “splashy splashy!!” It stinks to come to the BEACH and can’t see the beach!
