About this property

The Crystal River Casita is located just outside of the old mining town, turned artist community of Carbondale. Only 5 miles from downtown located in a private neighborhood, on dirt road, situated along the Crystal River. With pristine pools full of native trout, miles of hiking trails and the paved bike trail that access the entire valley just out your back door. Access to the Crystal River is just a 2min walk down the path. Just 5 miles south to the now famous and free hot springs "the penny pods". Or, an even better option of the Avalanche Hot Springs that requires a reservation. A short drive South is the historic town of Redstone (10 min) and then Marble (25 min). Of course the little known town of Aspen, where it's warm all year long is only 45 min drive away weather permitting. Carbondale is know as the base camp for adventure because of the central location to all things Colorado. Summit a 14er, raft class 5 whitewater, fish gold metal waters, ski world class mountains, ride endless single track, parasail or just completely relax on the brand new trex deck and do absolutely nothing but enjoy the fresh mountain air. You will stay at the fully renovated 2 bedroom, 1 bath house with a yard and brand new deck as mentioned above. We do have 2 furbabies(dogs) on this property and welcome small friendly fur babies as well. Please contact us for additional details about the house or the Roaring Fork and Crystal valleys.

Love this place

We just love this place it has everything you need. It has super comfortable beds, amazing location, and a beautiful setting, nice a quiet off the beaten path. Last time we stayed here in the winter and it was just so beautiful with all the snow. So coming here during the spring is naturally just absolutely gorgeous. We really enjoyed the hammock surrounded by the tulips and eating breakfast outside at the table on the patio every morning was everything we needed. Thank you!!

Rustic but Comfortable

Homey but showed a fair bit of wear. For example, the converter in the tub was removed but not replaced so a bath was the only option. Also, the doors leak and the outdoor seat cushions are shot. That said, the master bed was comfortable and the Keurig was a nice touch. All in all, a reasonable value for the price.

Very cute

This is a really cute place. The house was fully equipped. Very clean and nice and quiet. We really enjoyed being off the beaten path and listening to the creek. We came January so there was lots of snow and that was very fun to play in. Very close to town and all the amenities. Everything the ad says is true. We would definitely book again.

Wonderful!

This property is ideal for people who want beauty, hiking, proximity to Carbondale, Aspen, Marble and Redstone. The host was very responsive and personable. The house has everything you might need. It isn't fancy but it's spacious. We plan on returning in the near future.

Lovely stay in comfortable home

Charming Piece of Throwback

A rustic cabin on a dirt road in a quiet neighborhood. Tasteful eclectic decor. Hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating. Enjoyed small talk with neighbors on evening walks. Views to the Crystal River, red rock cliffs, and a private yard had us eating from the outdoor deck at most every meal. Temperature control can be tricky as is true of many older homes. Great access to the charming towns of Carbondale and Redstone. A great place to enjoy the simple life.

Perfect for short getaway for two!

We enjoyed how quiet and lowkey the neighborhood was, while still being able to access the towns around us as well as the many hot springs the area offered. Amazing hosts who allowed our pup to tag along. We had everything we needed in the kitchen (we brought some of our own spices too), even in single digit weather, the house was nice and cozy.

Beautiful Cabin in Offbeat Mountain Town

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. It was in a great location. The town of Carbondale was close but it still felt remote. The cabin was comfy and well stocked. We loved the property around the cabin. We would go again!

Great location

This property is perfectly located when visiting Carbondale, Red Stone and Marble. We found the house extremely clean. The beds were perfect. Very quiet area close to the river. Wonderful area in the back for our dogs. We plan to stay at the property when we visit next year. Highly recommend!!!

The Crystal River Runs Through Us

Great little hideaway! Was far enough out of Carbondale to feel 'remote', but really just a 10 minute drive! Fabulous jumping off point for mountain excursions. Loved exploring the river with my family in the evenings. Elias was always available whenever we had a question.

A slice of heaven!

There are 2 things that really matter to me when considering vacation rentals: the vibe I get from the owner and the location/view. This property comes up aces in both regards. Take a hike up Avalanche Creek or Perham Creek. Both just minutes away, but couldn’t be more different. Iron Mountain Hot Springs? Yes please! Maroon Bells? Meh, just another mountain. Just kidding!! They are stunning!

Fall 2019

We loved our fall visit to Carbondale. The weather was wonderful for viewing the fall colors from the beautiful deck & we had a very relaxing visit in your comfortable casita. The master bed was a dream to sleep in. Our pups also enjoyed their stay. A couple of beautiful large dogs came to visit as was predicted. My husband caught a nice brown on the river along with lots of little guys, who are waiting for their next encounter with the fly. It was hard to believe the snow that was predicted (& came!)for the next day (the day we left) since it was so warm & clear blue sky all day prior. A great time was had by all!

We are two young professionals who are lucky enough to live and work in paradise. We live on the property below and are available for suggestions or advise on everything in and around the Roaring Fork Valley.

Why they chose this property

I was born in Aspen and have always dreamed of owning my own home in the valley. After many years of looking for river frontage acreage, my wife and I purchesed the house in 2014 and have spent the last few years renovating the houses and property.

What makes this property unique

We have miles of trails right out your front door with a chance to see wildlife (elk, deer, bear, moose and many others) out your windows. We are located along the crystal river which is rich with native trout. We have a large and small fat bikes for use along with snowshoes, fishing poles and many other useful Colorado tools.
