About this property

WALK on the BEACH to Flora-Bama! 1 Bedroom @ Phoenix X

Come enjoy this newly renovated condo! As you enter, you are greeted by beautiful tile floors accented throughout by a playful palette of yellow, pomegranate, green, and coral on the walls and designer fabrics.
The living room is stunning! For your comfort, the sofa has the latest technology in sleeper sofas-a Tempur Pedic queen sleeper free of bars and springs. (No more sleeping on a trampoline!). Large beautiful accent chairs and a heathered chenille rug tie it all together. Wooden rods with crisp off-white drapes frame the beautiful outdoor scenery. All this and a large flat screen T.V. and new music sound system for enjoyment!
The color scheme continues into the master bedroom with its cream walls and luxurious green comforter and shams and colorful silk accent pillow on the king size bed. The room includes a large wall mounted 32” flat screen T.V. The adjoining bath is a lovely coral color. It has tile above the shower and granite on the vanity which is adorned by a mirror framed in beveled mirror.
The kitchen has granite countertops with a tile backsplash. The stainless steel appliances are high end including a dishwasher with a special quiet feature. Two barstools are tucked neatly under the bar. The dining area has a glass top table with expresso brown leather chairs accented overhead by a large wrought iron chandelier. The beautiful outdoors can be enjoyed through large windows while cooking or dining. And, if one wishes to venture outdoors to dine, a lovely tiled patio with table and chairs awaits them!

Overview
The condo was nice and had a great view. There was a hole in the bedroom under the tv that my one year old kept trying to stick her hand in. The rug in the living room was coming apart. I would not recommend using the sofa bed as you could feel the springs, it was very uncomfortable.

Bring your TP!
Everything was fine with rental but was a bit disappointed there was only one roll of Toilet Paper. Went to front desk and was informed we are provided “complimentary” roll and after that it is up to you! Seems a bit harsh especially learning around midnight on Saturday. If that is policy maybe front desk could sell rolls so you are not forced to leave property! 😩

First what went right: Room: Furthest away from the restaurant FloraBama. You'll want this because outdoor live music until 2AM only works if you plan on being up that late daily. The view of the ocean was ideal for us. We could see the waves come in but had less innate fear of a high balcony with small kids. The sinks were deep, the shower was powerful, and the couch did fold out into a bed, which we used. The dishwasher was a newer model and it did well with our dishes (of which there were plenty provided). The furnishing were adequate for the most part; it wasn't luxury but that wasn't important to us. Phoenix 10: Walking distance to one of the prominent restaurants in Orange Beach, no DD required! Indoor pool was great, kids loved it - outdoor pool was good too - these were well maintained. The staff were as helpful as they were allowed to be. Now what didn't go right: Room: We had stayed in a Phoenix (V) before but it was private owned, when a small problem arose, the owner got back to us next day and remedied it for us, our vacation was not impacted. This room is owned and maintained by BRGC. We didn't understand that would be a problem until it was. The room was still dirty despite the multi-hundred dollar cleaning fee attached to the room. There was a used toothette flosser in the bathroom (could still be there for all I know, it was on top of the shower where I didn't need to and choose not to touch it). The dishes required scrubbing to remove the food of previous renters from them. While its tacky not to clean your own dishes, I had hoped the cleaning staff would have picked up the slack. To be fair, a scrunge was included in the starter package and I used it so we could cook breakfast the next days. These minor cleaning issues may be a result of there being a short-handed and rushed staff secondary to covid stimulus checks and unemployment. However, the following issues and why this review went from 5 stars to 3 were the real noteworthy pickups of this review. The kitchen chairs were disintegrating. They were composed of a faux leather that must have been cleaned too many times. The black substance was flaking off on our clothes, the floor, sticking and being tracked around by our feet and shoes. The screen door fell off its tracks and nearly got my 4year old - when I told BRGC about these problems, they said, tell the front staff. I did. Nothing happened since; I hope they fix it for future renters.

Clean, but modest.
Good experience, even though I could have stayed a week in Cancun at an all inclusive for what I paid for 4 nights here. Nice balcony, clean environment. Fully stocked kitchen. Front desk very nice 24/7. Very comfortable sleeper sofa. Sheets provided didn't fit (fitted sheet), but front desk provided an additional top sheet. No blanket provided for couch. Very noisy at night, which is OK till 10:30, then we had to call to get security (as did many others). TVs worked properly. We were at the far west end of the property, which is as far from the FloraBama as possible. This is a good thing. Second floor property which was not at all easy for two older ladies to make their way down very long hallways and through several double doors that were not automatic. I won't stay on second floor again because of that. Otherwise, a pleasant stay. Wonderful weather, and water was beautiful.

Phoenix X was expensive and average.
Have stayed in several different units in the Phoenix X previously. This one was certainly OK, but $1500 for 4 nights seems really excessive. The closet doors in the bedroom didn't close. We had one roll of toilet paper. No laundry detergent - most condos almost always have at least one little packet. The couch which unfolded into a bed was very comfortable, except the fitted sheet didn't fit no matter what we tried and we had to go down to get another fitted sheet. Very inconvenient to be on the second floor. From what I understand, the other floors have open walkways so one can get the carts through. It was very difficult for two older ladies to get two carts through at least 3 double doors as we were at the very end of the complex. TVs worked properly. Balcony was quite nice. It was very noisy at night, and we had to call several nights after 10:00. The front desk was extremely nice. The young man setting out beach chairs was very, very nice. All in all a nice visit, just didn't really seem worth the price. I can go to Cancun to an all inclusive for a week for that much.
