About this property

All you need to bring are your clothes & sunscreen, we provide the rest!

Come escape to our sanctuary on Amelia Island. It's all about comfort, affordability and all the little details needed to realize that. Yes, that includes everything you would expect at a friend’s house from washer & dryer to spices. Show up with some comfort food, drinks and your clothes & sunscreen. All the rest is taken care of. Stroll to the beach, plan your adventures and relax.

There are a few things that we respectfully request of you, that will help to keep our villa in clean, healthy & comfortable condition:
Before you leave please make sure the dishes are either clean or being cleaned (in the dishwasher).
Please remove the sheets from the beds that you used before leaving & start them in the washing machine. Please try to keep up with washing the beach & bath towels so that we are able to accommodate the guests checking in after you leave.
We require you to take out your garbage upon checking-out. The dumpster and recycle station is at the far, back end of Amelia Landings.
Please return the thermostat to the temperature of 78 degrees.

Quick Summary: 2 bedrooms, 2 queen beds, 2 baths, 2nd-floor walkup, non-smoking, no pets, next to pool, community grill & tennis/pickleball courts, private path to a public beach access (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach).

You can expect plenty of extras that no place else will provide from olive oil & spices to beach chairs & coolers. Grab some fresh local shrimp, cocktail sauce, a few cold drinks and just waltz into our sanctuary. It will be spotless, the beds comfortable, the linens luxurious, numerous DVDs & books, fast, free & secure internet along with tons more. Plan on sitting under a fan on the screened in porch, enjoying a relaxing sense of perfection. Our slice of paradise on Amelia Island was lovingly remodeled from sub-floor to ceiling in early 2013. Everything is in pristine condition.

This condo is OWNER-MANAGED AND MAINTAINED. You will not hassle with a third-party rental management company; we are owners who care for our guests and the property. We live right here on the island and will personally make sure everything is ready for your arrival. If there is anything amiss we will take care of it quickly. There will be enough dishwasher and laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, basic kitchen supplies, and coffee & tea to get you started for your 1st day or 2. Before strolling to the beach you can load up the beach dolly with towels, umbrella, chairs, cooler and picnic supplies. It would be a bit much to list everything so please ask if you have any questions.

The rich history and natural beauty of Amelia Island begs of you to indulge in the creation of memories that will last a lifetime. This is why we manifested this get-away. The miles of pristine beaches, spectacular parks, clear, calm Atlantic waters and quaint charm has lured generations of travelers to Amelia Island. Our family is no exception.

Amelia Landings is a short 7-minute stroll down a private path (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach) to 1st Ave and a public access to the wonderful sandy island beaches. Although we set the villa up as a retreat for our family and friends to escape to, many families with youngsters, groups of golfers and friends getting away for a long weekend have found it to be perfect as well.

Our villa is a bit over 800 square feet with an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, dining and living areas. (Check out the floor plan in the pictures.) It is on the second floor of a three-story (approx 18 stairs) building closest to the pool, tennis courts and picnic/grill area. Unfortunately, there is not an elevator in the building, (it is NOT handicapped accessible). Amelia Landings is a pet-free community so no pets are allowed on the property.

Great location. Clean and comfortable unit.
This was our second visit to this Amelia Landings unit, and we only wish we could come back next year. The unit is just as described. The screened in balcony (many balconies here are not screened) is a wonderful place for reading, especially in inclement weather, or a glass of wine before dinner. It is just around the corner from the pool, and only a 5 or 10 minute walk to the beach. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped, and we enjoyed re-heating the great foods we purchased at the weekly farmers' market in Fernandina Beach. This is just what we needed for a break from late winter in New England.

Also in perfect proximity to everything. Walking distance to beach, short drive to historic district. Perfect little hideaway spot for a relaxing vacation. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Great place
We had a wonderful stay at Gretchen's condo. She provides everything you could need, including all kinds of kitchen essentials, and beach provisions., It is positioned wonderfully for seeing all that Fernandina Beach has to offer and the condo itself is in great shape. We hope to be able to come again.

Roomy, yet cozy
My husband, adult son and I stayed in this unit for six nights in mid-December. It was very comfortable, had everything we needed and more. There is everything you need for a trip to the beach; beach towels, pool noodles, beach chairs, pool floats. You don't need to bring any of that with you. The screened back porch is lovely for eating "outside," with a table and chairs, and we put the leaf into the dining room table which makes room for six (or a 1500 piece jigsaw puzzle). The kitchen is updated and outfitted nicely. We did several loads of laundry in the surprisingly large washing machine (stacked with a dryer on top). The master bedroom bed is very comfy (on the soft side). The guest bedroom bed is harder but still comfortable. The two bathrooms offer the choice of a roomy stall shower (master) of a tub shower with removable shower wand (for washing little ones, guest room). The desk in the living room is great for setting up a laptop, and there are lots of brochures for places to eat and things to do on display. There are tons of books (my husband said he'd read most of them, so, right up our alley) and movies, games and puzzles (see dining room table comment). The condo was spotless when we arrived and there were lots of towels, hangers and blankets. Gretchen was available and responsive to anything we needed. I'd definitely come back. In fact, I stayed an extra day!

Amelia Island condo rentl
This is the second time we stayed at this Condo. It's very convenient to the beach. Some of the furniture was updated since the last time we stayed. The screened porch had new furniture and is really nice. I did not recommend any activities but the owners have a nice collection of brochures and leaflets with restaurants or activities on the island or close to the island

Love the large screened in porch
If your goal is to get a little more space for your money in a location that is near the beach but not on it then you will enjoy this location. We started each day with coffee on the large screened in porch that was shaded all day and very comfortable. Many Condo's have a minimal porch area but the screened in porch area at this unit is huge and because it is shaded by large tree's it adds a very enjoyable space to the unit. The walk to the beach was as advertised, very easy down a private path through the woods. Scott provides beach chairs, umbrella's, Augers to seat the umbrella and several floats and beach toys, and a cart for taking them all to the beach. We utilized the bikes that Scott offers a couple of times although it was a little hot this week for long bike excursions. Also squeezed in one game of tennis using the racquets provides which were quite sufficient for our amateur skills. The Wifi and TV service was quite good and the unit has a large library of books available for your reading enjoyment. The kitchen is well equipped to cook if you choose, although we only cooked breakfast a couple of days during our visit. We found that Scott was very quick to respond to our communications and the unit was as advertised. If we return to the Amelia area we would certainly rent this unit again.

Quiet, clean, peaceful and convenient
Scott and Lu's place is great! We enjoyed the split floor plan - our daughter felt like she had her privacy as did we! Clean, comfortable, and all the amenities of home. They have thought of EVERYTHING. Check-in was the easiest we've ever had! Proximity to beach is excellent and a just a short drive to downtown shopping and restaurants. The screened porch is HUGE! We took advantage of meals out there and felt as if we were eating in the trees! Pool was peaceful to float in after a day in the pounding surf! Privacy is amazing for a condo community. We will stay with them again.

Great place to stay!
I can't say enough about Scott's place! It was perfect for my sister and I to visit. It's homey, clean and well taken care of with everything you would want to relax and hang out or grab the beach chairs and water toys to enjoy the ocean or pool. We loved the screened in porch that overlooks trees common to the area. It was quiet, just what we needed. The condo is on a second floor if that isn't an issue with outside stairs to access. Scott has well stocked his place with amenities that you might need from cooking to first aid. If more is needed he is only 5 minutes away! Scott offers detailed reviews of local restaurants and other places to visit on the island. The downtown streets are fun to walk with many shops to explore. A park, just 2 minutes away is part of a fort that offers an interesting history. There is plenty to do for 4 day to week long stay. If you read his description on line and it's a fit you will enjoy this place!

Wonderful Unit
We had a great time at Amelia Landings. The owner was very kind in that we had to reschedule twice and he was very accomodating, that is rare. There was everything in the unit you could possible need. We enjoyed, swimming, biking on the beach, walking, lots of athletics, went to some local restaurants and listened to some live music on the beach. I would recommend this unit and would stay there again. Maria B.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay. The condo is well maintained, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I especially appreciated the notebook with recommendations and instructions. Obviously we were in someone else's home but the way it was set up made you feel welcomed immediately. Coffee, filters, condiments, OTC drugs, collapsible cooler, ice packs in the refrigerator, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrella with cart to carry all. Would I come back,? Yes; planning on it. Next time with the kids, pending college break schedules. Would I recommend? Absolutely. This was our first experience with Homeaway and VRBO. It was pleasant and easy. Thank you Scott and Lu for making us feel welcome, without ever meeting you. Bob Frank

Great for the techie
I needed to set up my computer, monitors and VOIP phone so I could still do some work. We've rented multiple places over the years and this is the first to have a great desk, along with direct access to the router on a high-speed Internet connection. You can tell that the owners pay attention to details and really try to provide all that you may have need of. We plan on renting there again.

Beautiful!
We loved the condo. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed! The condo is so private with lush trees surrounding it. Our kids often felt like we were in a jungle with all the birds and frogs chirping throughout the day! We also enjoyed the closeness of the pool and beach. We were also close enough to drive to the Main beach so we checked that out too! Scott's guide to places to see and eat was very helpful, we ate at T-Rays and they certainly have the best burgers! The kids wanted to eat there every day! Thanks again for a great stay! We definitely will rent from Scott again! We wanted a place that we can rest and relax and Scott's condo made it easy for our family to have this time together!

Little Gem!
Scott and Lu, Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We feel in love with everything atmosphere, condo location the beaches and downtown! Scott's guide was very helpful( Timoti's, Fantastic Fudge, The Salty Pelican, and 29 South were the restaurants we went too and loved the....good eats!!!). We went exploring with our bots to Fort Clinch and found these amazing shark teeth! As far as the condo...it exceeded my expectations...For anyone renting here, all you need to clothes and personal items. Scott and Lu do a fantastic job in providing everything from coolers to boogie boards, beach chairs, towels, toys for the kids...so pack light! I can go on and on.... Coming from Miami wanting a relaxing place to disconnect and enjoy the family, Amelia Island and this condo were exactly what we were looking for. So thank you again for sharing your little gem with us!!

A Walk Down Memory Lane
This property was excellent for my sister and I to enjoy a nostalgic weekend remembering the fun days we had as children visiting relatives at Fernandina. The facility felt like home with its decor and layout. It was situated within a short driving distance of restaurants and shopping.

We spent a happy month at this condo. We enjoyed the privacy of the large screened porch, the proximity to the pool, the short walk to Egan's Creek Greenway and to the beach. Also, we liked the short walk to Slider's Beach Bar on the beach where we imbibed in a few beers and great salads. Groceries, pharmacies and historic downtown Fernandina were a short drive. The kitchen was well equipped with spices, pots and pans, as well as new appliances. All beach necessities -chairs, umbrella, beach towels were provided by owner. Our stay was excellent thanks to the owner attention to details. We were even offered a mid-month cleaner and linen change. We'll come back for sure.

Just what we needed!
I looked at quite a few places and read lots of reviews before making the decision to stay here. We loved the serenity of the complex, nicely landscaped and shaded, with a sense of privacy while being so close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach! The short-cut path to the beach was a pleasant walk, about 5 minutes. There is also plenty of free public parking at different locations along the beachfront if you choose to drive instead of walk to the beach. The unit has a nice floor plan and a cute updated kitchen. The owner of this unit is very thoughtful and accommodating. The the pool was nice and clean. The screened-in deck on the back is large and comfortable. We were surprised at the number and variety of shops and restaurants in the area. There are local restaurants and boutique shops in the beautiful historic district near the marina (we shopped and ate lunch in the afternoon and went back the next evening for dinner) as well as many of the chain department stores and big box hardware stores, all within a 5 to 15 minute drive. There are several blocks of early 1900's homes that are quite impressive. We enjoyed a visit to Fort Clinch State park which was very close to Amelia Landings. This is a great place to stay!

We were very happy with this condo rental. The location could not have been better as we could walk to ocean in minutes but had the pool when the weather was too chilly for the beach. The condo was very well equipped and very clean and updated. We appreciated the bikes that were supplied, we used them almost every day of our two week stay.

Felt like home
I'm a little late on writing this, but the praise is LONG overdue. We came down to Amelia Island to spend Thanksgiving with family and by the end of the week we felt like we were part of Scott's family. The personal touches in the house were amazing, there wasn't anything we could want for, right down to a handwritten not upon arrival which really turned my day around after 20 hours on the road battling bad weather. We will be back as many times as Scott will have us and as many times as we can make it to town to see the family. God Bless You and thank you for a lovely holiday, Scott.

We had vacationed on Amelia Island for many years when we finally decided to buy our vacation home. We never looked back & in 2015 we decided to make the move to live here permanently. It was the best decision we have ever made. This is truly paradise and everyone who lives here is happy. We walk on the beach every day, it's an excellent way to relax & re-group.

Why they chose this property

This condo was remodeled from sub-floor to ceiling during first few months of 2013. There is nothing that wasn't replaced right down to the outlets and light switches. There is a new oversize Carrier HVAC system to keep you comfortable and an oversized hot water heater to keep the shower flowing at the right temperature. We use high-quality linens. The kitchen is stunning right down to the Pfaltzgraff dining set. We now have an inviting place to relax and play that is away from the everyday distractions. This is not your typical full-time vacation rental it is a home.

What makes this property unique

The back deck is screened in with 2 ceiling fans overlooking a stand of old southern live oaks and a comfortable view of the pool. The angle of the building shields it from pool 'noise' affording it the best of both worlds, a view of southern live oaks, the pool and noise free solitude. With 6' sliding glass doors to the living room and master bedroom this space instills a tranquility that is hard to beat. When reasonable we sleep with the doors open and listen to birds and breeze. This is a quiet complex with very few rentals so you will rest peacefully even with the bedroom door open. The new floating floors are great in bare feet and clean up nicely. Of course, the kitchen is spectacular.

The 7-minute walk down a shell and boardwalk path (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach) will take you to the stunning Amelia Island beaches. The sandy beach extends for miles in both directions. I just love early morning strolls on the beach or a nice afternoon drink under an umbrella with my feet in the sand and a good book. The surf and sand are better babysitters than the TV any day. We have all the basic beach amenities including an umbrella, beach chairs, and towels.

There are so many local attractions, fantastic food, boating, fishing and spectacular golf I can't imagine being bored. A stop at Atlantic Seafood in historic Fernandina Beach after a stroll through the unique shops and you will be able to cook the best local seafood imaginable. I'm a bit partial to the fresh Mayport shrimp, blackened or pan seared served with a salad or just steamed with a fresh cocktail sauce eaten on the deck with a cocktail.
