About this property

Building 120 years old private house

It was renovated Kyomachiya 120 years ago, located 10 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station. We are receiving fire station and Kyoto city approval with motto of guest safety and security. It is a consecutive building tenement where lower class samurai and townspeople lived in the era of Samurai. Black pillar keeps things of that age as it is. There is a moat kotatsu in the living room and you can relax well. I sleep in bedding in a tatami room. Up to 3 people are the best, but you can prepare a futon for 4 people. There is a small back yard and you can see the garden over the shoji, raccoons and frogs are waiting for you. To Fushimi Inari Shrine, 5 minutes by JR from Kyoto station, 6 minutes walk to Toji (walking in the morning ...) 15 minutes by bus to Kiyomizu Temple, then on foot, Gion, Yasaka Shrine, Nishiki Market Kinkakuji It takes about 40 minutes by bus from Kyoto station and then you can go to Arashiyama sightseeing, trolley train Kintetsu train to Nara, a lot of deer, JR to Uji of tea,
If you ride the bullet train, you can go sightseeing in Hiroshima, Itsukushima Shrine,

Excellent experience with stay at Yui guesthouse
My wife and I had a wonderful stay for 3 nights during our time in Kyoto. Mr. Yoneda reached out to me several days in advance of our arrival with check-in information along with photos to show clear directions from the train station to the house. He greeted us when we showed up, explained all that we needed to know about the house and ensured that all of our questions were answered. The accommodations in the home had what we were looking for in Kyoto: a traditional Japanese-style townhouse with tatami mats and Machiya wooden architecture that is prevalent in Kyoto along with modern comforts to make our stay comfortable and complete. The house is tucked away from the local street that provided privacy, peace and quiet. The house is also perfectly located just minutes walk from the Kyoto Station with all the public transportation connections we needed to all the sights we visited as well as the presence of nearby konbini and shopping mall. The nearby coin-operated laundromat was a welcome added bonus that we took advantage of. The house was clean and tidy and had more than enough space for my wife and I to enjoy. Our host also provided written instructions to make things clear on how to operate the home appliances. It had most of the conveniences expected in a modern Japanese home. Thank you Mr. Yoneda for your hospitality and for opening up your home during our visit in Kyoto. Our memories of Kyoto have certainly been enriched with our stay at the Yui guesthouse.
