Peaceful and perfect describes S'more Fun located in Traverse City on Bass Lake. This home welcomes guests with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The living room has a cozy fireplace and beautiful lake views. The kitchen is fully equipped and "eat in" for morning gatherings. Up the stairs a large family room. A large-screen tv and a pool table provide entertainment, and a queen futon is available. On the lower level are three bedrooms. The lower level is a walk-out basement with 7-foot ceilings. The master bedroom has a king bed and a spacious walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms each have 2 queen beds. The home has central air conditioning, a gas fireplace, and wifi.

Outdoors is a beautiful landscaped space. The waterside features decks and a patio area for the fire pit. There is plenty of outdoor furniture too. A dock and canoe round out the outdoor amenities. Bass Lake is a great spot for fishing too! The yard area is a perfect place to play Bocce ball or croquet. The Game room in the garage includes ping pong and more. Stunning sunrises and starry nights are just some of the highlights to enjoy here.

This area is just out of town but close to everything. Visits to Interlochen/Grawn, Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula, or downtown Traverse City are all easy drives from here. Incredible Mo's Family Fun, grocery shopping, and farm markets are about 10 minutes away.

Check out local wineries, breweries, and specialty cheese shops like "the Cheese Lady". Enjoy fantastic restaurants and food trucks in downtown Traverse City. Visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes, cycle the Heritage Trail, and visit the Cherry Bowl Drive-In for family fun. Things to do in the area are endless. Come and see what all the buzz is about.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very happy with the rental location and amenities. Overall, it was a great experience. The cabin we originally booked had an issue arise prior to our arrival and the booking company was able to transfer us to a different cabin within the same area. Communication throughout the process was quick and efficient. However, as someone with allergies I feel it is important to note that there was an excessive amount of dog hair on the furnishings and it was evident that the property had not been deep cleaned (dust, toilet with pee dried onto the seat, etc.) we decided to give the company the benefit of the doubt as this may have been due to the unexpected change of cabins. Would stay again.

The view was everything!

The view from the living room is wonderful. We didn't even turn the tv on during our stay. Sitting on the deck for morning coffee was calm and quiet. Lots of wildlife to watch. The bedrooms on the lower level had trouble connecting to wifi. But overall our stay was great!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very disappointed in a house that cost as much as this one. For what we recieved we could have stayed in a nice hotel for much less. The house was dirty, the yard was very weedy. The lower deck needs to be replaced, not even safe to walk on but you wouldn't walk on it because of the weeds. Touched the blinds and they fell off. Kitchen had tiles missing, when we called to discuss we were told this was the owners responsibility. The floors had dirt on them like they weren't cleaned, but we sure had to have it all ready to go by 10 am on check out day. Skip this place.

S’More Week

Sunrise and sunset were beautiful from the large window in the living area. Having the kayak was a nice plus for us. The property management group were simply Awesome. I called with questions several time and they were always helpful and responsive.

Great location, decent house.

Overall we had a good time on our trip, but it had a rough start. Upon arrival the code we were given for the keypad did not work and we had to call the after hours line. It was then told to us they knew they keypad wasn’t working from the previous renter, we were directed to keys other locations on the property. I was called the day before to verify I had received the check in information, knowing the keypad didn’t work would have been helpful to know and would have saved a phone call later. After getting into the house we found dirty towels piled high in the laundry room, all beds unmade, and the house had not been cleaned. Another call was made to the after hours line. They did take care of it with an emergency cleaning and had people there within an hour (shoutout to the ladies that did come, they were very apologetic and focused on everything we asked). But it was a quick cleaning and trying to entertain small children who want to explore and are hungry after traveling was a challenge. It was a rough start but the lake was beautiful. Perfect for swimming, canoeing and kayaking.

The property was perfectly set up for my 3 adult sons and their significant others/friends. The pool table in the upper level family room is perfect! The views of the lake were a huge bonus. Huge accommodating kitchen for all 10 of us for games and dining.

Great place to stay

We all had fun in the play room. Kitchen was stocked well. Beds were comfy. Plenty of room for a family vacation. One of the showers leaked so that should be addressed. Overall a great place.

Perfect Family Weekend

Our family weekend of 8 adults and 1 grandchild(4 yrs) fit very comfortably into the home. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds and view of the lake. The upper pool/entertainment room and kitchen were great for us all to gather. Great location for venturing out too.

Great location but could use some TLC

The location and view of the home was fantatsic. You have a beautiful view of Bass Lake from every room and the game room woth pool table was a huge plus. Short drive to downtown TC and other attractions. The main complaint was the water smelled extremely badly of sulfur. Property manager told us to just run all the taps and open the windows but this only helped a little bit and the smell was still there by the end of our short stay. They never sent anyone out to look at the water softener (which is clearly the problem). Other things we noticed that could be improved were small but would make a big difference. The tile in the main entrance is cracked and broken, garbage recepticles outaide were overfilled when we arrived, bedding was stained, and the floors were filled with sand and dust. Overall minor problems and a good place to stay.

Reviewer Comments: Bass Lake is a smaller lake with much less boating activity than Silver, Long or Spider Lakes - which makes it ideal for kayaking and fishing. The house is very close to the water but shrubs are beginning to take over the pier. The house is a lovely retreat to bring the family to. I do wish there was a curtain over the bedroom door (which leads to a nice deck) because the morning sun is very bright coming thru the patterned film over the glass in the door. The property management company is amazing - we had no water when we awoke on a Sunday morning - called the emergency number and Jack had a plumber there within the hour. Found the well pump was not working and needed a "well" guy to check it out. On a Sunday? Right. Again, Jack came through and the well pump was replaced, which was a fascinating operation to watch.

Property was nice. The only thing I would say is the stairs are not great, a few in our family slipped on the stairs. We were in town for a wedding so only had a short stay.

Absolutely Wonderful

We had such a fun time staying at Smores fun. Our group came up for a soccer tournament, the kids had a blast being able to play outside, had space inside to play, and enjoyed the ping pong/Foosball/pool tables. The house was clean and well set up for our stay. Close drive to town and restaurants. Would recommend and will also look into it next time we're in town. Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: Our first stay in this lovely home that is close to everything you need - downtown Traverse City, restaurants and groceries - IF you decide to leave this great place. Three levels, well laid out, with a large game room on the third level with a 65” tv. You can tell the owners take pride in their vacation home with the upgrades they are doing. Bass Lake is beautiful and quieter than Silver Lake or Spider Lake (both at which we have stayed) - much less boat and jet ski traffic. The fire pit right by the beach area was a perfect way to end the day. We were so glad to find a house that didn’t have a steep decline to the beach area - so much easier when carrying towels, food & kids. The management company was the best we have ever dealt with - very responsive to any question we had - and this was our 8th year to rent a vacation home in Traverse City for 3 wks. We have found the perfect house for our summer vacation in Traverse City.

Perfectly located Lakehouse

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I will start by saying our week vacation spent on Bass Lake was amazing! The lake was perfect for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing, which we did each of these daily. There is a nice little sandbar which we could swim to as well. I just wish the house had one additional kayak! Each night we enjoyed a nice fire, listened to the sounds on the lake and looking up at the stars. The house had a perfect layout and space which accommodated our family and dogs perfectly! The covered porch was amazing to sit on especially in the morning or when storms rolled in (thankfully we didn’t have much rain!). The location of the house was fantastic in proximity to Downtown Traverse City, Suttons Bay, and the Costco, Sams, Meijer and Target.A few negatives though included the leaking pea trap in the laundry room and in the kitchen it sounded like the dishwasher was constantly running. These pipes were in our bedroom so we had some background noise while sleeping. We did call but they said they were unable to bring someone out to have it fixed (understandable to find maintenance people but didn’t make it any less annoying!). We also wanted to try playing the WII one afternoon and it was broken! We replaced the controller batteries and tried a few things with no luck! Again this wasn’t a deal breaker just a slight disappointment. The garage was a great space with the ping pong and additional games, thankfully we didn’t have to use this much because of the near perfect weather! I did notice they also had 2 nice bikes with helmets but we didn’t utilize these. The pool table inside is in okay condition but didn’t have sticks that were usable, again thankfully we didn’t need inside entertainment. Overall minus the few issues it was a fantastic stay, beautiful family friendly property and we would go again!
