In the lovely Shenandoah Valley, close to Luray, Virginia, you'll find Hawksbill Retreat Log Cabin #8, where you'll find the ultimate romantic escape. Our 45-acre refuge, which is conveniently located to Luray and the Shenandoah National Park, offers peace and relaxation as well as breath-taking panoramas of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We have recently finished renovating this log cabin, which features one bedroom, with the intention of offering it to couples looking for a romantic retreat. A big stone fireplace, a brand-new queen-size log bed with a luxurious foam mattress, and a custom-tiled 2-person shower are all featured in the open floor plan. You can take in the breathtaking scenery of the mountains while you relax in the comfort of your bed thanks to the large glass French doors.

Take your morning coffee onto the covered porch, where you'll find two rocking chairs where you may relax while taking in the tranquil atmosphere. A private hot tub, a fully functional kitchen, satellite TV, and WiFi are all included in the cabin's amenities. A passionate evening beneath the stars is the perfect time to take use of the fire pit, swing, and outdoor charcoal BBQ that are provided.

Because of its proximity to Luray, the majestic Luray Caverns, and the breathtaking Shenandoah National Park, Hawksbill Retreat Log Cabin #8 makes it easy to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation and breathtaking scenery that are available in the surrounding area. Lovely Getaway
Brief two-night stay. Cabin was lovely. Faux fireplace a surprisingly nice touch. Hot tub was amazing. We saw a shooting star and four deer while we were in it last night. View spectacular. Hosts responsive. Mostly stocked kitchen to prep our meals. Wifi was spotty throughout stay and kept kicking us off but we still got cell service so it was fine. Sat TV never cut out but a smart tv with apps would have been preferred. Two person shower very nice. Comfy bed. Peaceful and quiet and only 20 min from Luray. A great Thanksgiving getaway.

We absolutely loved staying here! We came for our 5 year wedding anniversary and were so happy with our visit. The property was easy to get to, and we had everything we needed! The view from the porch and Adirondack chairs was beautiful! We went hiking to Hawksbill Loop Trail and had an amazing anniversary dinner at the Chophouse in Luray! Would definitely book again!

Lovely cabin but read the fine print
We had a lovely two nights at this cabin bringing in the New Year. The property was as-described and everything seemed clean. It's a cozy studio cabin with one main room and a bathroom. We loved the indoor fire place and the hot tub. The listing does note exactly what they provide at the house, and we were glad to have taken note so we made sure to bring any essentials that wouldn't be included. As others have noted, the property managers do require a lease to be signed along with a copy of photo ID either faxed or emailed. Make sure to give yourself the required time and technological access to accomplish this, as you will not receive the passcodes to enter the property until then. The property manager also are not working during the weekend so it's best to make any arrangements with them during business hours on weekdays. This is not a knock on the property but just to help other renters set expectations to have a smooth and stress free check in.

Amazing trip
The property was spectacular. From the hot tub to the fire pit there wasn't a bad place to take in the sunrise (or moonrise) over the distant mountains. The location was great to get to the surrounding sights (Luray and Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park) and various wineries and breweries. We had a fantastic time and hope to make another trip in the future.

My wife an I went to the cabin to get away from people and life in general. It was GREAT! Very little as far as other people, plenty of privacy, awesome views, everything was clean and comfortable. Two points to note though, with 2 shower heads going at the same time, the water tank can't keep up for 2 separate showers back to back and the other issue... Non stick pans... Bring your own or get cooking spray... Otherwise an excellent stay, thank you Randy!

Nice--But Short of Expectation
It isn't bad, but it isn't what we had hoped for based on the listing. --The listing says it is a 1 bedroom. It is not a one-bedroom--there is no bedroom--so your bed is out in the living area. It's my thing, but I hate living with my bed--I much prefer a one-bedroom (with a bed in a separate room) but this wasn't it. --We got there a little early, and the cleaning person was not wearing a mask--I hate to be a freak, but they promised that staff wore PPE, and she wasn't. ---The approval process was followed by contact from the owner, who sent us a separate 4-page lease that we had to sign. That seems kind of weird. It is a serious legal document that basically makes the renter responsible for everything possible. That isn't a normal VRBO requirement, and it was off-putting, as was the fact that I had to provide them my credit card info again (after the VRBO booking). IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING, booking on the run, and got a confirmation from VRBO and thought you were done, you may run into a problem if you overlook this Step 2 of the process, which is more onerous--including the requirement to sign the document, create a PDF, and email it back. --The cabin is located in a "cabin subdivision"--all the trees were cut down (I guess) to put in the development. It would have been nicer if they left (or planted) some trees, so you actually felt like you were in a more wooded area. I imagine it can get pretty hot in the summer, as it is totally exposed. --I don't understand why the coach is along the wall, at a 90-degree angle to the TV that is mounted at a neck stretching height of 8 feet above the floor. It's kind of a bus station waiting room layout. --It is nice enough--but these issues just let us down, and the facility did not meet our (high) expectations.
