The house is a great home & the size was perfect for our family of 16. Pool was awesome as well as the quiet neighborhood, privacy & beautiful beach. However, the home needs a lot of TLC, both inside & outside, and some serious deep cleaning. Hostess was good at answering any questions. Overall, perfect vacation!
My family really enjoyed our week at Bahia Largo. We had a family of 16 (3 kids, 4 teens, 9 adults). We had plenty of room. On the listing it doesn’t mention the sleeping porch, but the teens enjoyed this room for extra space. From the drive way to where we set up our chairs on the beach is about 500 feet. Easier walk than some of the ocean front high rises we have stayed in. The house is part of a neighborhood so you don’t have to worry about lots of traffic driving by. The pool was a good size and had shaded areas which were appreciated in the afternoons. Overall I would recommend this home to other guests!
With the places across the street going over 14,000 a week this place is worth the price , great access to everything and the pool on property.... excellent
We had 3 generations staying at this property and the two levels were perfect for being close but still seperate. The neighborhood is quiet, the beach is less than a 2 minute walk, the pool is a great way to spend the hot afternoons and the host is responsive and very easy to work with. The beach was not crowded and the surf was calm for the kids.
The house is definitely dated, but fit our needs just fine! I would stay here again and again!
Our family had a great time. MaryNell was awesome and so quick to respond for any questions or issues. Beds could use an update, but overall great location and great vacation house! Would stay here again!
Our family returned to Bahia Largo after a number of years. It was like coming home.
It’s the perfect place to stay for large families.
We will return!
Thanks MaryNell!
We loved our stay at Bahia Largo! Plenty of space for our large group- the 2 full kitchens made mealtimes so much easier. Great location- super close to beach access (2ish min walk) and nice neighborhood. All the greenery around the house made it feel private. We absolutely loved the pool and backyard space! MaryNell was a great host as well! We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely come back!
The house is only steps from a very secluded beach area. The very private and partially shaded pool area was perfect. My grandson could’ve played on the swings all day. The house was as listed. It is not the most updated and the kitchen could be better stocked for those who prefer to cook at home, but the value compared to surrounding homes can’t be beat. We would stay again.
Pool was nice and clean, description was accurate. This is a somewhat dated home, but overall good shape. Top unit a little nicer than lower unit. Easy access to beach.
This beach house was exactly as listed. We utilized the house for a small backyard wedding reception. It met our needs well. Although second row, you are literally steps from the waterfront. The house is very charming full of unique decor and family photos. Owner was communicative and accommodating. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The only 2 points of improvements that could be made is an updated router for wifi (it was slow or would drop totally out at times and the mattresses/box springs are in need of upgrade. Would stay again!
Bahia Largo was as listed. Great location, across the street from the beach, with beach access just two houses over. Decent sized pool for our large mixed age group (17). Some of the bedrooms were small, but there was ample living space. Entire house works for a group as well as separate families. At times it was annoying (rain/young kids) that the only way to access each level was the outside steps, but we knew that before we rented from the listing. I think by having two separate levels it provided more privacy and less noise. Mary Nell was very responsive. House had a few beach chairs, sand/pool toys, basketball/football/volleyball for our use. Ample parking. There are a few "luxury beach houses" across the street that would of been fun to have rented for each couple/family to have larger bedrooms and private bathrooms, and a more modern house/living experience, but when you think about being in the same location/same beach, why spend literally 4 times the amount of money for 1 week at the beach??!! Thanks for a great AFFORDABLE beach week MaryNell.
Wonderful family getaway - adults and kids from ages two through 12 enjoyed our stay! Location was wonderful with a short walk to the beach and the salt pool was refreshing and very enjoyable by all! The property was perfect for our family’s needs! The owner did a great job communicating.

Review of property from family vacation
Proximity to the beach was perfect, and private pool (albeit with no frills) in the backyard ideal. The beach felt semi-private and was away from the hustle and bustle. Unfortunately the pool cycle was not set adequately to handle the traffic, and by end of each day the water was cloudy and dirty. The owner sent the pool guy over once, after we complained, but that helped for just a day. If you were lucky enough to draw a room on the second floor, it has been somewhat renovated, and has some nice extra space with a screened in porch and sunroom. If you drew the “can’t do stairs” card, you were less fortunate. The first floor does not appear to have been touched up/repaired/anything since the place was built. The refrigerator door had bungee cords provided to keep the condiments on the shelves. I can never understand bathrooms that are meant to serve 8 sleepers that have ONE towel rack. We had to shift the bed in our room, and it was clear that the floor hadn’t been cleaned under/behind/alongside it in a very long time. We found trash and numerous other people’s belongings. While making our beds with linens provided (for a fee of course), we discovered that the mattress pad likely hadn’t been washed in years either – sporting various pubic hairs, stains, etc. The check-out instructions are very clear about separating dirty linens from towels before leaving – with NO reference to leaving comforters or pillows in a pile to be cleaned also. They clearly had not – the pillows stank, and one by one members of our family got sick throughout the week.
Finally, the toilet in “our” bathroom, which is right off the living room – so open to folks in the pool, folks visiting our floor - and serving up to eight sleepers, was out of date and inadequately sized for such a potential capacity. It clogged several times during our stay and we were able to unclog with the plunger provided. However, as we were rushing to make it to the airport and meet the 11am deadline of checkout it clogged again so we notified the cleaning crew as they entered. We were not halfway across the state when we received a notification that the owner had charged our credit card an additional fee for cleaning. That was on top of the cleaning fee already assessed. Our guess is the cleaning crew tried to flush and when it started overflowing, they panicked and blamed us. For the age of the property, it is overpriced. For what we paid, we expected a higher level of amenities and cleanliness.
MaryNell was easy to communicate with. Can't beat the location, a one minute walk to an excellent beach, very uncrowded and clean. Enjoyed the pool and backyard. Highly recommended.
We LOVED this older shabby chic beach house! All the books you'd ever want to read while enjoying the beach, great beachy art and wonderful photos of Long Bay and MB all over! Mary was extremely prompt helping us when we had a few questions too. Absolutely recommend renting this double family house! 5 minutes to Market Common, literally a private beach with no crowds. Thanks Mary!
This house had everything our team and coaches could have possibly needed. Perfect location with the beach and pool. And plenty of space for them to let out their energy with the basketball hoop out front. Many memories were made at this house this week. And the owner of the house was very accommodating and great to work with. Highly recommend!!
This is our first experience renting a house. The house was as expected. Property owner was very easy to contact and work with. Location was excellent, maybe a minute walk to the beach. Yard and house were big enough for us all the spread out. Would highly recommend!
The actual house is a little dated but value is terrific. Ideal for 2 family situation due to layout and 2 kitchens. Beach access, privacy and the entertainment value due to shell & shark teeth hunting plus quality of sand is as good as any I have been to over 35 years.
