Awesome sunsets and quiet starry nights await you at this very clean and cozy one bedroom home situated at 1700 feet on two lush acres of the dry and sunny side of Waimea Town. From here you are only minutes away from the finest beaches (such as Mauna Kea and Hapuna, water activites ( sailing, fishing, whale watching, great snorkeling and diving), dining and golfing the Big Island has to offer.

This thoughtfully built home is serene and quiet located where the temperature provides warm days and cool evenings. The tranquil property is lavishly and organically landscaped with a variety of tropical fruits (We Like To Share) flowering plants and trees.

A Comfortable and tastefully furnished living room provides space for a relaxing read or television viewing and opens out onto a large private lanai. Luxuriate here in the serene setting or nestle into the tropical furnishings.

The separate master bedroom offers a queen size bed and luxurious linens. The private bathroom includes a washer and dryer for your convenience. For a real treat... experience the additional outdoor shower garden under the stars.

Quiet and comfortable

Quiet and comfortable. Matt was available for help with quick response. Enjoyed the neighborhood and convenience to kawaihae harbor and beaches on west side of island.

Such a lovely place

Gorgeous property, very quiet and away from traffic noise. No A/C, but fans were set up to circulate the cooler outside air in the evening and we slept comfortably. And it stayed cool during the day when it was closed up. I’m sensitive to cleaning products, and it was nice to see natural/fragrance free products were provided. He set us up with a starter kit of coffee, and there were oils and spices set up in the kitchen for our use. Kitchen was well equipped. Easy to drive just 10-15min to the Kahala coast beaches, shopping and restaurants in one direction, and Waimea in the other. Very spacious and comfortable for the two of us.

Pristine - solitude. Matt and Rose are unparalleled hosts, attentive and invisible. Has everything a couple needs to enjoy the quiet, calm, bucolic nature of west Waimea. We are planning our return already - but for much longer.

A week near Waimea

This property is clean, attractive and peaceful. We did feel closed in by the structure and the lovely but gated garden. In an area with sweeping views of hills and spectacular sunsets, we had to go on a long walk or get in the car to see them. The privacy has this downside.

Spacious and well appointed modern yurt. Take your relaxing stay in Hawai’i up a notch and enjoy the outdoor shower under swaying palms with private bamboo walls. Locate best beaches on the island at the state beach with fee parking and two other hidden beaches requiring limited free day pass at Mauna Kai and Mauna Lea Resorts.

This cottage was quiet, very clean, all amenities needed for a week stay. Outdoor grounds pleasing and interesting. The hosts were cordial, available and excellent communicators. Great value for a couple.

Cool Place

We rented half of a duplex yurt on a nice piece of property. Nice location, out of the way but close to town. We were there during a high wind advisory in February, so we had plenty of wind. We drove down to the Kona area for a snorkeling trip and had beautiful weather. We drove to volcanoes national Park and it rained up there a lot. There are many microclimates on that island to explore. Furniture was very comfortable. The bed was great. The refrigerator was missing either a drawer or a shelf, I couldn't tell, and the clothes dryer had some funky temporary knobs. Other than that, everything was in great shape and the property owner was responsive.

Great Location with lots of space

Located between Kona and Hilo (about an hour to each) if you want to visit them but far enough away from the "city" where you can enjoy the quiet and village life. I'm not sure I ever figured out how the multiple yurts were connected or how many different residents there were but we rarely saw anyone else during our 11 day stay. The weather was great - cool enough at night to not require air conditioning but warm and sunny during the day with plenty of breezes to keep you cool. The outdoor shower was an extra special touch and really made you feel like you were vacationing in Hawaii. The kitchen was fully stocked with every gadget you could possibly need but note that save for the very basics (salt, pepper, oil, coffee, sugar) you will need to stop at the grocery store for all of your foodstuffs. Plenty of towels and bath supplies, thanks for also supplying us with the beach equipment, that came in handy. The outdoor area was great and we many nights we made use of the very nice grill. Quiet, comfortable and peaceful with a responsive host - we had no problems during our stay and would stay here again on return trips to the Big Island!

Pleasant and relaxing stay !

Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends ! House is quite and peaceful, with nice layout, quality interior furnishings, beautiful garden and patio. We liked, that the entrance hall has chair, bench and large beautiful wooden desk there you can comfortably place things before taking your shoes off. Сeiling fans in every room kept a nice air circulation on hotter days. Kitchen is spacious and guest room is nicely appointed with a comfortable couch, armchairs, nice dining table and beautiful, probably custom made window curtains. Bedroom has pleasant to touch, high quality bedding, comfortable mattress, blinds and window a/c to keep it dark and cool for a truly restful sleep. We deeply appreciated fragrance free space, bedding towels and ...teapot ! Comfortable beach chairs, towels and umbrella were provided. It's an amazing location for a stargazing. Host Matt was friendly, helpful and even generously offered to use oranges from his trees. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some minor minuses and suggestions for improvement: Dryer's control knobs were broken and one of the ceiling fans closer to kitchen area was making a squeaking noise when rotating. Windows near the deck and slab under the outdoor sink need some light cleaning. It would be nice to have a larger towels which you can wrap around yourself.

A Delightful Property

As we visited our Son and Daughter in Law, this property served as the perfect location. The property, originally intended to be a single housing unit, is a super nice Yurt that has been divided into several apartments. The division created a unique floor plan for our unit, and left me scratching my head until I figured out the purpose as related to the overall division of the Yurt. We were fortunate to have the property to ourselves for most of the two weeks we stayed and the serenity was amazing. However, the sudden division cutoff (without space between units) can intrude on the serenity if you get disrespectful neighbors; or you yourselves are disrespectful neighbors. We have communicated directly with the property hosts to identify some issues, and their response was positive, quote, "We try make our place as nice as possible, and we’ll certainly work to fix these problems".

Tranquil and ideal spot to explore Hawaii from.

The little house was spotlessly clean and had everything and more we needed. The outdoor shower is a simple luxury that we loved and the only shower we used. Somehow feels very private with garden and patio and we didn't hear any other guests. Also, great spot to explore the best beaches of Kohalo Coast and Waimea is a busy but nice little town.

Clean quiet home base in Kamuela

The property is a permanent yurt, physically connected but separated from two other yurts. The layout is very comfortable, with a nice outdoor shower and back deck. You can hear neighbors from the back deck, but otherwise it is very quiet and secluded. The property hosts live in a separate house on the property. Matt was very kind and helpful, hands-off, and responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely and quiet

The property is as described. It's a unique structure based on a Yurt. Intriguing layout. Beautiful grounds, 5 minutes from Waimea, 15 minutes to South Kohala, convenient to both. Matt was extremely friendly. We appreciated the comfortable bedding, the coffee grinder and the French Press, and learning to compost. The property is not completely private. There are 5 separate living spaces on the grounds, so be prepared to make adjustments to others. A nice stay, away from the coastline, in the cool and quiet country.

Great Experience

Easy to rent. Great location for easy access to all central and northern parts of island. Lynette was very helpful. Fresh tangerines, lemons, and oranges right outside the door. Quiet and beautiful place. Would rent Aina Lani again.

Very Special Peaceful Place

It was yurt magic. Waimea has the most perfect climate on the Big Island and this modern yurt was one of the nicest places we've stayed. Loved that outdoor shower, kitchen, etc. The owners were also very good about meeting our fragrance free needs, since chemical air fresheners, scented laundry detergent and dryer sheets can make our vacations a living hell. Frankly, I'm a little hesitant to heap too much praise for this heaven on earth. Its kind of like keeping your favorite restaurant secret so crowds don't spoil it. But that wouldn't be fair to the owners who did a spectacular job of making our stay welcome.

Unique property, convenient location, and great outside shower!

We were very pleased with our stay! We instantly felt at home on the Big Island. The property is very unique - circular, as shown, with a nicely open, elegant floor plan. The entire space is clean and modern, and the kitchen is especially well-furnished. The back patio and yard are private and roomy. The whole property really feels like a home, not like "a rental". Our stay was in October, a hot month in Hawaii. The apartment cooled off nicely after being closed up during the day just by running fans, and we were comfortable sleeping at night. As the owner explained, this has to do with the higher altitude, which is noticeably cooler at night than the Kona coast. The location is residential and relatively free of congestion, but still a convenient 5-10 minute drive west to excellent beaches or the same distance east to a good variety of restaurants and shops in Waimea. A real highlight of the property is the outside shower. It's spacious, completely private, and feels wonderful in the morning. Plus, it's environmentally conscious and keeps excess humidity out of the house. We looked forward to each shower! Overall, this is a well-appointed and comfortable apartment with some unique and memorable features.
