Great Location
Cute and comfortable cottage with a nice courtyard to relax in. Was very close to public transportation. Street car and magazine street lines. Friendly and safe neighborhood right next to the park. We really enjoyed our time there.

Excellent location
The apartment is located in a central residential neighbourhood, a short distance from all other districts in the city. The studio itself, although small, is very functional and opens on a pretty coutyard, allowing guests to spend leasure time outdoors. Parking is quite easy on the street. The only inconvenience we experienced during our one-week stay was ongoing noise during the day, due to 1) building crews renovating a big building just behind the studio, and 2) the dog next door barking a lot. Otherwise, it was very pleasant.

Wonderful place to stay
CoZy and clean studio with lots of thoughtful touches. It is in a perfect location for New Orleans stay. We absolutely loved the area and ease of getting around, I really don’t think you can find a better area to stay. Everything is very well kept inside and out. We had little hang up for arrival not having the code or being able to get ahold of the owner , I think just happen to be an oversight and we understand things happen every now again. It all worked out great still. She followed up and made sure everything was great and was very courteous. We would most definitely stay here again.

Cozy studio in a great location!
Great retreat for us during a fun-packed wedding weekend in the Garden District. Well-stocked and comfortable. Great bed/sheets! Highlight is the large enclosed patio space. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet our host, Matilde, but she was very welcoming and helpful via text!

Gorgeous, hidden gem, perfection 👌🏻
There could not be a more perfect location in all of NOLA than this little space 😍 The owners are quite possibly the sweetest, most-generous & kind people we’ve ever met. The guest house was clean, convenient & decorated with fabulous art...we found ourselves wanting to chill in our room & the courtyard as much as possible. One block away from the cutest eclectic shops, coffee shops & restaurants...this is truly a hidden gem in the city! Matilde & her husband were just amazing & even leant me their last gate key when I left mine at a friend’s house...just such sweet people ❤️Thank you both so much !

Wonderful experience, gracious hosts, perfect location.
This accommodation provided the perfect place in which to make forays into whichever direction we desired into New Orleans. Using public transit kept things simple for us and this property afforded us the ideal location. Our abode was clean, inspiring, and fully adequate for our four days. Our gracious hosts completed the “picture-perfect” experience.

Great Place to Stay!
We greatly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well appointed with coffee (with all the fixings), laundry detergent, folding lawn chairs and even bus schedules. We rarely moved our car from the free on-street parking, since the bus was conveniently located right outside our door. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cottage apartment in the garden district
peaceful, clean, modern, well appointed with gracious hosts (although I did not meet them in person), back yard, and wonderful location. Walking distance to the convention center, St Charles Streetcar, and Magazine St. A gem!

Fabulous Location
Experiencing the historic Garden District was a revelation. Many trips before to New Orleans were in other parts of the city. We walked so much more because of the proximity of cafes, bistros, coffee shops and boutiques. A lovely park is steps away. The beautiful lush greenery of mature big trees makes it so lovely. The secluded, well appointed garden also was a big draw. The room itself is roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed the sophisticated art too. We were there during Jazz Fest and the Lyft drivers were invariably only 2 minutes away !

A beautiful little spot
Matilde and Gustavo were wonderful hosts...and so were their cats. The courtyard is great for lounging and it’s quieter than being in The Quarter...yet, just a short Uber or trolly rides away

Beautiful place to stay.
We booked a trip to NOLA and selected an apartment to stay in that is owned by the same people as this one. When our flight dates changed and I asked if we could extend our visit Matilde said it was already rented but she offered this cottage for our first two nights. She was so very sweet and very accommodating to us, which we really appreciated. The cottage is behind Matilde and Gustavo's home. It's quiet, beautifully decorated, and has every amenity that we could think of. Matilde and Gustavo were so welcoming when we arrived. They gave us numerous suggestions on where to eat, places to see, etc. This location is awesome, with so many things to do within walking distance. The true charm of NOLA is here. We enjoyed strolling down the streets and looking at all of the architecture. After our second night Gustavo moved our luggage to the apartment for us, which was so thoughtful. We didn't have a car and didn't know what to do with our luggage during the day. We didn't need to worry about that! Matilde and Gustavo are gracious hosts and we look forward to coming back to stay here again!

Comfortable studio apartment just a block off Magazine Street
Went to NOLA for my husband's birthday, looking for a relaxing weekend. Just steps from Magazine Street where you can find a wide variety of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. St Charles Street trolley is a few blocks away, and an Uber to the French Quarter was just under $7. Quiet, safe neighborhood. The studio apartment is in the back yard, and is surrounded with lush greenery and patio seating, perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Owners were very friendly and welcoming, but not obtrusive. Found parking close but most spaces were full during our stay. Will definitely try to stay here on our next trip.

Fabulous Rental
This rental is perfect for a New Orleans weekend getaway. My husband and I travel frequently to New Orleans to visit our daughter. We have stayed in many hotels as well as rental properties and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice this time! Matilde and Gustavo were so warm and welcoming throughout the entire weekend. The location is perfect for those who are visiting for the weekend or enjoying a longer stay. We were able to walk to neighboring Magazine Street for food and shopping. It is also within a few blocks of St. Charles if you want to take the streetcar either to the French Quarter or Uptown. We had a car for the weekend and parking was easily available on the street in front of their house. We would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to New Orleans!

Great courtyard getaway close to the Convention Center and Garden District Amenities
This was a great little bungalow for the price. It was within a short walk to the convention center and right around the corner from all the Garden District attractions. There was a wonderful coffee shop a block away and lots of great restaurants and shops. The hosts were very nice and made sure I had everything I needed when I checked in. I will bring my husband next time and have a nice weekend getaway.

Tranquil get away
I loved the cottage! It was very comfortable, relaxing and clean. Matilde was excellent to work with too. She quickly responded to any questions we had and I loved the adorable cats in the courtyard! :) I would stay here again if I was back in New Orleans. Oh...and the location is awesome! Very close to all the shops and restaurants on Magazine Street.

charming, comfortable, lovely home and area
The little cottage was quite lovely, tucked behind an equally charming little on a pleasant street across from a park. The owners were very warm and inviting and responded immediately to text with various questions. It is lovingly maintained and I have no doubt set up anything with less than perfect the owners would rush to remedy the situation. I am definitely going to stay here whenever I'm in New Orleans.

Cozy Cottage
My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was exactly as described by the very gracious owners, clean, and perfect for the two of us. The location was convenient to restaurants, shopping, and the park for enjoying walks in the neighborhood(Surrey's is a must for shrimp & grits!). Definitely a wonderful NOLA experience! Thank you!!

Location, location, location
My wife and I had such a great time staying in this garden spot in the Lower Garden District. First time in NOLA! We bought jazzy passes on line before we left home enabling us to ride ALL buses and streetcars for days. And the bus stop to the French Quarter is right outside the front gate. The return bus stops one block away. The St. Charles streetcar is a short 10 min. walk away, through a quiet little park. Perfect. A car in this city would be more of a hassle than it's worth. This is a secure lodging with very interesting plants and outdoor seating. It's like a studio apt., with a stove, fridge, utensils, and work space cart. It could've used a saucepan, is all. We just boil some eggs and have cheese, tortillas, crackers, nuts, beer, pop, for breakfast and snack things. Otherwise the restaurants in NOLA are outstanding and we were in oyster season! Two places we lucked into were Tracy's with the best po' boys we ate, and Amici's that has all their bottles of wine half price on Wednesdays and suprisingly good food (cold seafood salad and a pizza were delish, but the dishes that went by us looked good, too.). Both are on Magazine. The owners of this lodging are on site, very gracious and interesting. Matilde recommended a couple great places to eat. Her art decorates the bungalow and is really quite good! The bath is small but the rest of the place is quite spacious so we didn't have any problems. The hot water takes a while to get to the faucets but it is hot. The light bulb above the kitchen sink was out but we never told them about it because it wasn't that important to us as the place is well lit. We just kind of forgot. Sorry Matilde, we should've told you before we left. This location is perfect for a couple that likes to explore. It was our 25th anniversary and we are considering making it an annual trip and we will stay here, again.

Greetings! We are Matilde and Gustavo, both visual artists. We came in 1999 to NewOrleans for an exhibit of Gustavo and barely few hours later fell irrevocably in love with the city.
Gustavo is a well-known artist and regularly shows abroad and other cities of the United States. His work (and mine) are permanently on display at Kezic Gallery in the FrenchQuarter. You might want to organize a visit to Gustavo’s art studio in the Bywater.
We moved to New Orleans where we found a perfect mélange of village and city life with great entertainment. We are foodies, finding wonderful dining experiences in New Orleans is easy and are plentiful. We stroll while sipping our drinks (it’s “legal” here) and enjoy our architectural treasures in the afternoon, meet friends or chase fabulous music at the many venues and festivals around the city. And most of it, if not all can be done walking!
We are owners and managers of our property. We like to personally greet our visitors if possible. We are attentive to all of our guests needs and inquiries but understand that we are not part of the planned vacation. We are available if needed.

Why they chose this property

In the Lower Garden District we found the perfect mélange of village, rural laissez faire and city life and entertainment. A walk in the afternoon by Magazine Street or hearing the fountain of the Coliseum Square at night is enough to fall in love over and over again. We are in the middle of the city, in our own little gorgeous oasis

What makes this property unique

Enjoying the peace of this cottage is a luxury. Being in the middle to all #NewOrleans is unique.
