Our 1926 Spanish villa -- 'Villa Barajas' -- combines historic character with modern features. Enjoy an authentic local living experience, in luxury style, with the comforts of home!

The Carrara Suite (#3323) on the second floor is a sunny, comfortable 1 bed, 1 bath retreat for two (just under 400 SF). The famous white and gray marble for which the suite is named graces the bath as well as the dining table. Overall, the feel is urban, sexy, modern and minimalist, with black, white and shades of gray...

Gorgeous original hardwood floors, large windows, exposed brick, fine cabinetry and furnishings, deep Euro tub/shower, central heat/AC, washer and dryer in suite, all new fully equipped kitchen and bath.

We also provide amenities -- K-cup and French press coffee makers, beach towels, blow dryer, iron, luggage rack, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, hand soaps, other essentials. WIFI and smart TV -- Stream your Netflix and Pandora while you relax or enjoy a light meal in the suite.

We have a 500mbps WIFI network in the unit -- nice and fast -- and 4 other networks in the building, all of which are accessible to all guests, so it's pretty much bullet proof service if your unit's network happens to go down.

Spacious grounds with gas grill, ping pong table and delightful seating areas. Walk a few blocks to Balboa Park, restaurants, cafes, golf, community pool, tennis, recreation. 5 minutes to downtown -- Little Italy, The GasLamp Quarter, Seaport Village, Convention Center, the famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and museums, Old Globe Theatre. 10 min to beaches and other major attractions, including Coronado Island and Seaworld.

RENTER BEWARE!
RENTER BEWARE! This small rental unit comes with a rental agreement which is not immediately obvious in the listing. You are required to comply with many surprising provisions that no ordinary renter will want to be bound by. Be sure to find and carefully read this rental agreement before pushing the “Submit” button and ending up with onerous and unreasonable obligations under a NON-CANCELLABLE contract. Regrettably, I was an unwitting victim. ALERT; these Hosts’ other Villa Barajas rentals appear to have the same rental agreement attached to them too.

The unit was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. We had everything we needed and we were within walking distance of my daughter and our new grand baby. The only thing we thought the unit needs is a screen on the bedroom window. We were unable to enjoy the San Diego evening air for fear of mosquitos coming in.. Also, the screen in the bathroom has a gap so we did get some mosquitos through that window.

Beautifully updated condo. Had just the right amenities, like a hotel. Enjoyed the Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products. Very responsive property manager. Parking on street was not a problem. Two side notes - One of two chairs were broken, which would have been nice to have as a place to sit to eat, since it was my husband, myself and son. Also, it is pretty small, so I would only recommend for two people. For the three of us, I think we could have used more space. Overall, a nice place for a trip and close to Balboa park.

Jim and I stayed at this complex in a different condo a few years back, and really enjoyed it, so were eager to stay again. My wife and i stayed with our 11 month old daughter and this apartment was perfect! The owners even provided a pack-n-play and high chair. The apartment was very clean and had all the essentials we needed. The location was perfect. Very close to the zoo, restaurants, and a short drive to beaches. We enjoyed our stay and would highly reccomend.

Nice place, in a fun area of San Diego (North Park). Lots of restaurants and night life within walking distance, but far enough from the noise. I would not recommend it for more than 2......even for 2 adults and 1 child. Our only complaints were the 1 couch is very uncomfortable and 1 of the 2 chairs was damaged to the point it could not be used.

Perfect space for a weekend getaway
We really enjoyed our stay here! They provided a list of all their expectations before we arrived, so it was nice to know that they have high standards for their visitors. We've had a few bad experiences in the past with other properties that were not well cared for, so it was encouraging to know that they expected us to be kind to space. The property manager was very easy to contact when I was unsure of how to turn on some of the appliances, and he kindly answered my questions. Overall, we loved our time here and we would definitely stay here again.

Cute and comfortable in a fun neighborhood.
This rental was comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. The bed was comfortable and we were very glad we had air conditioning. The outdoor amenities were nice to have, and we did not have any problems with parking. This rental is small but perfect for two people. Efficient but noisy
The property is beautiful. Everything is efficiently located, making excellent use of the space. Close to downtown San Diego. Thankfully the weather was beautiful since we couldn't figure out the ac. Open windows allowed for a nice breeze but also made for noisy mornings and evenings when all the neighborhood dogs would decide to bark in unison for hours on end.

Clean and in a great location
This was the first air bnb experience, overall there were no real complaints. The space was very clean and in a great location. Only issues we had with the place was with finding parking in the back, that being said we were able to find free parking on the front street within a block or so.

Nice property in a great location.
We had a great time during our stay at the condo. It had everything we needed and was well located for walking to restaurants, parks, shopping, etc. We lived like locals for a month and walked everywhere. Public transportation was also available and very convenient. The owners were responsive and helpful when needed.

Nice amenities!
Enjoyed staying in this one bdrm modern suite. This upstairs unit was nice and bright with plenty of windows to get the cross breezes going through all four sides of the suite. Kitchen was well appointed for cooking and I loved the Keurig! I really appreciated the modern decor and fixtures. The washer/dryer was so convenient and easy to use. What I also liked is that it was very quiet! The villa is close to restaurants and bars, yet super quiet neighbors. The owners were very responsive to all my questions and requests, and easy to work with, they keep the yard and building clean! I highly recommend the villa and this suite!

Wonderful Place and Perfect Location
I stayed in one of the flats for a few months over the summer. The place is perfect. I had to be away from my home unexpectedly and this was truly a home away from home. The owners are incredibly friendly and responsive. You can tell they have put much love into making these units a lovely place to stay. The ground are an oasis and there are so many restaurants and bars that are walking distance. As a San Diego native, this is probably the best location to stay in...away from tourists so you really get a feel for the San Diegan vibe.

Hip, clean, but tiny place
We VRBO regularly, this condo was hip, clean, but very small. It was centrally located in a nice neighborhood, and was close to all that North Park has to offer. We did not have any problem with the parking concerning the available parking spaces off the alley way. That said, the bad, construction work started across the street at 6:00 am and the next door neighbors had a dog that barked and whined excessively. The other issues we had with this unit was we found the love seat to be very uncomfortable and hard to spend any amount of time on to watch TV etc. In addition, the bedroom needed a blackout shade because the blinds did not keep the morning sun from lighting up the whole room at 6:00 a.m.. I must say the unit was remodeled very nicely with quality appliances etc., however unfortunately they did not replace the single pane windows so the aforementioned noises came right into the unit. Lastly, if you have any issues with mobility be warned, this unit has several steep stairways to climb to get up to the unit.

Great clean place and close to everything
First of all, the owners, Beth and Gail were great to work with. Secondly, Matthew, the rental coordinator was super responsive, and sent all of the check in instructions early and resolved my small HVAC issue in a matter of hours. The actual property is extremely well maintained with all of the essentials and everything was very clean and kept up. The location is within walking distance of breweries, restaurants, and everything you'd need. It is also a $7 uber ride to the Gaslamp. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful and perfectly located
Let me just say, I am so glad we chose this condo. Yes it is very small but the furnishings are incredibly well done and it fit the two of us perfectly. The best thing about this condo is the location. We were close to everything - North Park, the Zoo/Balboa Park, and Downtown/Gaslamp District among others. The only thing I was not 100% happy with was the parking. Our mid size sedan wouldn't fit in the garage and though it was advertised that there were 3 spots outside, only two cars could fit there. We usually came home later at night so we would have to drive around for a while to find a spot on the street because the spots outside the garage were full. We always found a spot though so I didn't lose sleep over it. If it was available I would absolutely stay here again, it was a great experience for my first time in San Diego!

When we saw this building, with its old world charm and quaint sophistication- we knew that we had to own it, renovate it- and then provide fabulous, beautiful, comfortable and 'cool' accommodations where people could relax, enjoy the Park, the Zoo, the many restaurants- all within the context of an authentic, local San Diego experience

What makes this property unique

This building is thought to have been owned a century ago by an historic church nearby and resided in by church members or out of town visitors. It is a beautiful building and stands out as regal yet simple. This combination of simplicity and beauty attracted us.
