Stunning

Feels like one’s own private Four Seasons, but with cows, goats, and chickens that lay blue and green eggs. Commanding views of the Santa Ynez Valley. Ask the ranch manager, Fidencio, to take you on a llama walk.

Incredible, Hidden Gem

The Ranch at Canyon Ridge feels like a secret boutique resort. Bernadette and Greg have done an absolutely incredible job creating this oasis in SB Wine Country. The house itself is extremely comfortable and stylish, balancing smart home conveniences with classic American style that fits the Ranch aesthetic. The beds are all very comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious and clean and the kitchen is fully equipped with every tool you could need (mixer, vitamix, serving platters, bbq tools, etc.). I had the pleasure of staying here with my husband and two other couples and their <1 year old babies for the fourth of July weekend. We had PLENTY of room and enjoyed every moment on the property. The outdoor area is amazing equipped with a top of the line propane BBQ, TV, comfortable seating, gorgeous pool and hot tub and breath-taking views of the rolling hills. We felt like we were in Tuscany with the large Italian Cyprus trees that surround the pool. The ranch is also home to adorable llamas, goats and chickens which we enjoyed meeting as well. The ranch manager Fidencio is so kind and led us on a little adventure around the property with the two llamas, Hariett and Mama Llama. We were welcomed with delicious farm fresh eggs, muffins, butter and homemade cookies. Bernadette and Greg were on the ranch and super quick to answer any questions or address anything that came up. They even helped us to light the Santa Maria BBQ on the 4th so we could use the awesome wood fire for our meal. I seriously can't wait to return and cannot say enough good things about this experience. All of us keep referring to it as the Secret Ranch and are already plotting when we can get back to visit again.

Paradise in the Country

We had the pleasure of joining our daughter and family for a five night stay. The property is beautiful with expansive views across the valley. We enjoyed all of the animals and being able to interact with them. In fact, we were given a dozen fresh eggs laid by the on-site chickens. I received a wonderful facial from Bernadette, and Greg prepared and lit the cauldron for us. The girls enjoyed roasting marshmallows and we enjoyed the ambiance. The home is full of beautiful antiques and all of the amenities that you need. We were there when a hundred year old hay wagon was delivered and positioned on the hillside that you can see as you drive up to the house. Bernadette and Greg are wonderful hosts and I hope to return again one day.

Perfect Thanksgiving Retreat

Beautiful, amazing property!

Three adult couples spent a long weekend at The Ranch and we were all so taken with the beautiful property and grounds that we canceled our restaurant reservations two nights in a row to stay in and enjoy the home instead! The grounds, views and Lans aping were magnificent and nothing beats having morning coffee with the goats! Would definitely stay again and can't wait for an excuse to return!

Amazing Experience!

We stayed at The Farmhouse for a long weekend with friends and our kids and couldn’t have had a better time. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From guided tours of their friendly animals to private spa experiences, we had a fantastic stay from start to finish. Plus the water slide was awesome! We’ll be back!

The most perfect getaway!

We stayed at the Ranch to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday. I can’t imagine a more wonderful place to stay! The farmhouse was immaculate. The most comfortable furnishings, the prettiest grounds, and a great pool. The owners made us feel like part of the family and were readily available to give us recommendations or show us how to use everything in the house. They have the hospitality game down! We will definitely be staying here again next time we need a little getaway from LA. Thank you Bernadette and Greg!

Beautiful, quiet, secluded, fun getaway

Our stay was great! House was beautiful. The entire "Ranch" property was beautiful. The outdoor space (front yard driveway, to huge grass area, to infinity pool + water slide, and to the great backyard patio with bbq island, outdoor tv, speakers, fridge) makes you ONLY want to spend entire time outside. Lastly, the farm animals on site that guest can spend some time with as in "walking them" was awesome (great for kids). The goats (adorable), chickens, roosters, llamas were great. By the way, with permission, you can collect chicken eggs yourself. The host, Bernadette and Greg, has a fantastic house, and you tell the time, love and 1,000's of details at this place.

Such an amazing time and special place

After not seeing our daughter for over a year due to COVID, this was the absolute perfect place to spend time together as a family. The gorgeous photos you see online don't even do the property justice, it truly is a magical place with breathtaking views. We were met by Bernadette and Greg (property owners) on arrival and they are by far, hands down the kindest and most hospitable hosts we've encountered in all of our years renting vacation properties. They gave us a tour of the home and property and let us know they were just a phone call or text away if we needed anything. Waiting in the kitchen for us were cookies, wine and a fridge stocked with fresh eggs from their very own chickens, muffins, cream and bottled water. The kitchen was stocked so well that some of the items we stopped for at the grocery store on the way there weren't needed. Our plan was to do wine tasting on Saturday but after stopping at a couple, we decided we'd rather head back to the farmhouse and drink our wine there so we could enjoy the breathtaking views. Some of the highlights of our trip were playing croquet on the expansive lawn that was perfect for it, taking in the beautiful views from the outdoor kitchen and meeting the farm animals (especially the goats and llamas). Thank you so much Bernadette and Greg for sharing your slice of heaven with us. We will definitely be back and I will most definitely be taking advantage of the spa services! PS - Upon returning home, we realized my husband left his iWatch charging cord and they were nice enough to send back and wouldn't even let us reimburse for postage.

This place is truly magical! Bernadette and Greg are exceptional hosts and their property is warm, inviting and extremely well kept. The views are gorgeous and a dip in the jacuzzi is the perfect way to start (and end) the day. We can’t wait to return!

Started off bad when I discovered [from the owners], the pool was to be shared. I insisted I didn't read this anywhere and we were not sharing the pool with strangers. Luckily they capitulated and it wasn't an issue. But it set a bad tone. The owners live on the property and conducted a 45 minute tour, establishing all the rules. Cameras everywhere. Not fun. Lost the first day to yellow jackets -- wife got stung on the face. Pointed this out to the owners, who must have known it was an issue since they live there, They remedied it the next day with traps. Beautiful home and setting, just back off a little.

Perfect in Every Way

The beauty of the Farmhouse cannot be overstated. The back yard, outdoor dining area, and pool provide stunning views of hills, mountains and vineyards. Bernadette should be a professional interior designer; The home is appointed with beautiful furnishings and comfy/cozy places to relax, sleep, and watch movies. We can’t stop taking pictures and have become obsessed with her taste and style. I could go on and on about the home and its every amenity, including a farm with llamas, goats and chickens (whom we visit every morning), but what puts this place over the top is the warmth and hospitality from the owners. Greg and Bernadette are so kind and generous. We don’t want to leave.

Wonderful stay

We had a really nice time at the ranch. Our girls (3,5) loved the animals and visited the chickens, goats and Llama’s daily. The pool was fantastic, and house was well appointed and very comfortable. Bernadette and Greg were great, and Fidencio and Maria were so nice and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing trip away!

We could not love this place more! The views. The pool. The outdoor dining. The beds. The open grass. The farm. We truly felt like we were a million miles from home! Amazing Getaway!

We no longer need to look at or visit any other places, we will be returning to the Ranch at Canyon Ridge for all future ladies weekends! The attention to detail is one of the aspects that make this property so amazing. The view is breath taking, the house extremely comfortable and it is obvious the owners take great pride in their property and truly enjoy sharing it with others. Los Olivos and Solvang provide countless activities for entertainment if needed but you can definitely make a weekend just enjoying the backyard, the pool and the fantastic view! Walking the llamas, pygmy goats and gathering eggs is offered and is a must, so much fun! We can't wait to return!

Perfect getaway!

Us five girls had an incredible time at this impeccable property. The house was pristine and loved lounging by the beautiful pool with the most outstanding View Bernadette and Greg were perfect hosts and loved the tour of their farm animals and loved having a separate spa house on the property for amazing facials and massage. We feel that we didn’t stay long enough to really enjoy the amenities but we will be back five stars all the way !

Wonderful stay at the Ranch!

My wife and I stayed at the Ranch with our son, daughter in law and their kids ages 2 and 6. Read no further-just book this property! We were met by Bernadette for a comprehensive tour and introduction to the property. The property was more impressive than described in the online write up. First morning was a walk with the goats, lamas and more goats. We also gathered eggs from the chicken coops. What a treat for the grandkids! Greg and Bernadette took multiple photos for us to enjoy. The house is really over the top. Every room is perfectly decorated. Views are beautiful and we really enjoyed the pool . Again, all I can say is book it !

Fantastic Farm Stay

The best VRBO experience we've ever had! The house was impeccably clean and professionally decorated inside and out. The views from all around the property are breathless. A complete "Farm Experience" but in a total private and elegant way. Complete with chickens, goats and llamas all in their designated areas, you could choose your level of interaction from not at all to feeding, petting and running around with them. It was a blast! Our Hosts were wonderful in every way. They were warm, welcoming and so helpful in answering all of our questions. We felt completely relaxed and at home. Definitely doing this again!

If you are searching for that very special place - a place to make memories with family or special loved ones, celebrate an intimate wedding, hold a small retreat, host a special corporate event, or simply get away all by yourself for some much needed solitude - your search is over! The Ranch at Canyon Ridge is the perfect place! As you enter the gate, stroll the grounds, tour the indoor and outdoor spaces where you will be sleeping, lounging and dining, and then finally pause to take in the stunning views of Santa Ynez’ rolling hills and vineyards on this property, you will notice how quickly your mind, body and soul have already relaxed and settled into a place where stress, worry and anxiety can’t possibly survive. I have read every single review on this property, and all the wonderful things written about this magical place are spot on and worthy of repeating. The gracious and unparalleled hospitality of owners Greg and Bernadette is evident the moment you arrive. Freshly baked cookies and a bottle of wine in your residence, a personal tour of the property that includes meeting their beloved llamas, pygmy goats, roosters and chickens, and lovely Christmas decorations throughout are just a few examples that reflect their passion to make you feel welcomed and at home in their personal paradise. The thorough attention to details create an inviting place that is not only warm and cozy with the charming decor and amenities, but also convenient and hightech with Alexa smart home technology throughout. The owners were clearly thoughtful and intentional to make any person feel well cared for in so many ways. In addition to what I mentioned above, our family also enjoyed the following during our stay, which was the weekend before New Year’s: Feeding, walking and strolling with the llamas and Pygmy goats. Buttercup is a love! Searching for freshly laid eggs to enjoy for breakfast. Hawk Head, one of their roosters, is notably handsome! Listening and singing along to our son’s guitar playing, enjoying evening wine and appetizers, and playing games next to a warm wood burning fireplace and lovely decorated Christmas tree. Morning coffee, midday naps, afternoon wine, family breakfasts, all experienced outdoors in the crisp fresh air and warm sun, taking in the spectacular view of rolling hills and vineyards, so reminiscent of the Tuscany region of Italy. Preparing and eating dinners together in the well equipped Farmhouse kitchen and ample dining room. Enjoying music and movies, lounging, and reading in multiple inviting spaces throughout the ranch Doing archery together, which was a huge hit with our three teenage sons We had a lovely picnic at Bridlewood Winery, cocktails and a yummy lunch at Bear and Star in Los Olivos, and a nice stroll through Solvang. But most of our time was happily spent at the ranch because none of us really ever wanted to leave. So, let me try and summarize how I feel about this very special place. Those who are most enriched by experiencing places that are a true labor of love will find it an absolute privilege and joy to stay here. And return. Often.

Gorgeous, sprawling gem of a property in the wine country!

What a gorgeous home, property, and truly lovely owners/hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away in the wine country in the beautiful, cozy yet spacious home of Bernadette and Greg. They were so welcoming, so helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival we were surprised with a delicious bottle of red wine. The home itself has so much to offer. Plenty of space for the whole family (ours was a group of 9), with three very private bedrooms, two en-suite and one with a full bath just across the hall. Every room has amazing views of the expansive landscape, and the rolling hills of Santa Ynez/Solvang. Although the address is in Solvang, you truly are away from the town in a good way. It’s quiet, with a beautiful pool. We stayed in the main house but were able to tour the other two rentals on the large property, which you really don’t see from the main house. They are just as charming, and would be perfect for families/friends beyond ten people. The backyard is just beyond. We enjoyed a lovely lunch outdoors at the large rustic table and stayed in for dinner since it was so nice to just be there. Wine tasting is just down the road, minutes from Los Olivos, which is one of our favorite areas to visit. The other amazing ammenity they offered was to meet their wonderful animals- goats and llamas! My daughter was in heaven! They are the sweetest animals and the nicest people. Just don’t make eye contact with a llama lol. We truly were sad to leave after such a relaxing stay and are looking forward to a future visit. Definitely book this home or one of the cottages!

Absolutely stunning!

This property is one I will absolutely be returning to! The owners did not miss any details when designing this house and their hospitality was beyond gracious, leaving us with a truly remarkable experience. The public spaces were designed perfectly to accommodate large group settings, while there were also plenty of private spaces for people to break away from the group. The kitchen is equipped with anything one might need, the pool/jacuzzi (and water slide) provided great fun during the hot daytime hours and the open lawn on one end of the house was a perfect spot to do yoga. Can't forget to mention the animals that live on the property... I won't give too much away, except that they are SO cute, and again, our hosts were so kind to take us on a walking tour to visit all of them. This house is highly recommended!
