House mix-up, but ended well
The house I booked was perfect! Just weeks before the trip I was notified by the owner that he sold the house last year. (!!!!!) But, he owned the house directly next door and it provided the same accommodations we needed. It all worked out after all. Breakfast was delivered each day, which was fantastic, even though it was not the Chef prepared breakfast as listed in the booking. Also disappointed that we were served pancakes with standard store syrup and not notable Canadian Maple syrup. Again, I'm very happy with the accommodations and the location couldn't have been better! You can see the Niagara river and the mist from the falls. The bridge to the US was in eye shot and amazingly convenient. The owner was fantastic at being responsive and helpful. Parking is available in front as well as in back by way of the alley. We had a great time and recommend this booking for anyone! Please be aware you need to be ok with some steps, as this is a 2 story home. Cute and cozy. 👍🏻

4/10 Poor

Property is in good location but needs some care
This house was in a terrific setting with a good breakfast each day. The house itself needs a lot of work. The bath tub not only dripped but actually ran our entire 3 days. When we reported it, it was partially turned off only to start again the next day. We had to request 5 light bulbs because they were out. None of the plugs worked in kitchen and one bedroom so we had to repot that too and they did fix that. The oven did not work and light was on whole time because door would not close: The beds were comfortable and there is a nice living room. The Kerig coffee maker did not work. This price of this house is too high for what we got.

Grand House, very clean
. . . but in need of a little TLC. The space was large and very clean so no complaints for the price. The location was ideal about a 30 minute walk from the falls.

A 1 Dressed Up As A 9
Pictures do NOT tell the story with this place. I was shocked at how bad it was after seeing the pictures and reading reviews (they have to be fake). Here's a short list of things that were bad: Floors had been sanded so badly that there were nail heads sticking out all over the house - wrecked socks from catching on nail heads, luckily no cut feet; Mold on bathroom grout in bathrooms; Stair rail threshold broken and slanted towards a very shaky set of stairs - just plain dangerous; bottom stair pulling away from other steps; holes and scrapes on all walls; where they had tried to paint, it was a very poor job with electrical outlets/window and door handles painted over and where they did use tape to try and be neat, they left tape on; front door knob actually pulls off; baseboards missing; front and back yard a mess; no mirror in bathroom by largest bedroom - how are you supposed to shave in there!; no cable TV so trying to watch normal shows on what they had as a TV system wasn't even remotely possible; no drapes on the main floor so you're open to the world. No way would I ever rent this place especially if I had kids. We were 4 retired guys on a golf trip, so we suffered through, but honestly the reviews on this place have to be fake. STAY AWAY.

Absolutely Fantastic!
What a great location! Yes, you can walk to the falls, albeit a bit of a walk, not horrible. Everything was just awesome house wise. Stately older home with lots of character. There were plenty of shampoos, conditioners, soap and towels, coffee, etc. Very well supplied and laid out. The breakfast was simply amazing! Fresh fruit crepes, and other choices, plus a large buffet bar with fruits, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, etc. My only 2 negatives for the owners to consider addressing is that there were a couple of pieces of broken furniture sitting in a side room (sun room) that looked like storage for unwanted/broken furniture that you could see from a window inside the home. I had to walk back to the property nearby where you check-in to tell the gal at the check-in counter so she didn't think we broke that furniture. The other issue is there are a fair amount of small hardwood flooring nails that are coming up out of the floor. After a few of our kids had holes ripped in their socks, we told them to wear their shoes in the house so they didn't cut the bottom of their feet, or tear up their socks further. Neither of those were deal breakers worthy of rating this property as anything other than 5 stars. Overall, a wonderful stay! We would certainly stay there again!

Fantastic
This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.

6/10 Okay

christina n., Gloucester, Virginia

Disappointing
Old house musty smell and needs a good cleaning, the lawn was overgrown, a two by two foot section of ceiling plaster fell down near the fireplace, the downstairs commode leaks, the kitchen is not set up for cooking, they even left us a dirty sponge to wash our dishes with in the kitchen. Location is great you can walk to everything, breakfast is wonderful and while most of the staff is attentive and gracious, some are rude and condescending.

Do not book with Canada Stays
This accommodation was good but we did not get the specific home that we originally booked with Canada Stays. Grandview is a very good hotel who apologized for the significant mistake in our booking and once there treated us extremely well. They indicated that Canada Stays was in the process of amalgamating with HOmeaway and VRBO and made numersous mistakes during that time. I tried numerous time to correct this with Canada Stays and Grandview to no avail. I will not book with Canada Stays again. Grandview offers many room options but check carefully before booking. The overall service is excellent and breakfast was delicious with various fresh made options.

Nothing bad to say.
This property is fabulous. We have stayed at many. This one ranks at the very top of the list. It has two sun rooms, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, dinning room, kitchen with all the amenities. Excellent location with relation to the falls. Will definitely come back1

An ideal venue for a large family.
You can walk to the falls, the gorge is just across the street and your dining hall is two doors away. The house has everything you need and the staff at the Inn is close by for questions. Enjoy your breakfast!

I am former hotelier and have been involved in Niagara’s tourism and hospitality industry since I was ten years old. Having a history degree has led me to embrace Niagara’s colourful past and I can often be found conversing with guests on topics ranging from local geology to the wild wacky adventures of Niagara’s daredevils. I have traveled extensively in North America and Europe and can speak German, French, English, and Hungarian.

In between various stints in the local hospitality industry, I founded and still operate a software development firm which builds reservation and ticketing engines.

The other passion is the restoration of historical buildings.
I look forward to hosting you at one of our properties.
