Lake Erie Beachfront Cottage Near Geneva State Park Lodge

Beautiful, small, lakefront cottage modestly decorated in nautical theme, overlooking the lake. This is a quiet family friendly cottage. The spectacular sunsets sold us on this home, and we enjoy the nearby area, too. Situated amongst other weekend get-away homes, this is a fabulous spot to relax on the deck overlooking the grassy hill leading down to the water and watch the waves rolling in, the Great Lakes ships passing by on the horizon.

This is also a lovely spot Ohio's beautiful Fall season. The area is filled with fall foliage, remarkably tasty wineries with farm to table restaurants, covered bridges, bike trails, and local festivals.

Geneva-on-the-Lake has a 1950's shopping strip-lined with amusement halls, putt-putt golf, waterslides, shops, and restaurants. We enjoy visiting Geneva State Park with its lodge, beach and marina, the wineries in the area, covered bridges, antique shops in Ashtabula Harbor, and incredible views as you drive along the lake. An hour to Erie, Pennsylvania, and an hour to downtown Cleveland, the area remains quiet, not overly built and commercialized.

You can enjoy a full meal cooked in the ample kitchen (with full-size refrigerator and gas oven, plenty of kitchenware); cable tv in the living room with fireplace (fold-out couch for one person sleeping) with a sliding glass door leading to the deck overlooking Lake Erie. There is an enclosed porch with a cute tiki bar.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed and dresser. The second bedroom features a trundle with a twin mattress bed on top, and a twin mattress below, dresser storage, and Roku TV. The garage is used for storage is not available to guests.

Newly installed air conditioning August 2022. There are also ceiling fans in most rooms that work nicely with the lake breeze coming in for those days the AC is not needed.
Free wireless and a landline for local calls only are included with your stay.

Swimming is available at Walnut Public beach about five minute drive from the cottage. There is also a nice beach, swimming, and picnic areas at the Geneva State Park. We do not have a dock, however, boating is available at local marinas and Geneva State Park. We do not permit swimming or fishing at the cottage property.

Overall great trip!!

Other than the midges which swarmed us the first 2 days of our trip because apparently the first 2 weeks of June these little flying bugs are insane and show up in massive swarms so we weren’t able to utilize the outdoor area for the first half of our trip. A few of the neighbors told us this when we’re able to use the outdoor area the last 2 days of our trip. The AC quit working due to needing batteries however Connie was fast and efficient in getting over to replace the batteries and get the AC back on. Overall everything about the cottage was quaint, comfortable and clean with a lake vibe feel.

WONDERFUL!

This lakefront cottage is quite charming with a nautical ambience and well kept. The view is spectacular, and the sunsets leave nothing to be desired. The host's manager was so pleasant and thoughtful to every detail. I will definitely return!

Beautiful quiet lake location!

For those who truly want to enjoy the peace of the lake scenery. A lovely quaint cabin - slow down and enjoy!! Watch for bald eagles (note immature eagles don’t have white heads!) and monarchs fluttering past from the expansive deck. Explore Ashtabula and wonderful nature trails!

Beautiful house and breathtaking views!

My sister and I stayed here for our third annual sister trip and it was simply gorgeous! You feel like your literally on top of the Lake. Sunsets were amazing and there’s a lot to do close by. We went and visited a bunch of waterfalls and covered bridges. The restaurant which is totally walkable called Allesandros a little Italian place was delicious! We would so come here again!!!

Relaxing Stay

This cottage is perfectly situated on Lake Erie and we enjoyed several beautiful sunsets from the spacious, quiet deck. A perfect place for us to kick back and relax, read, and visit several of the great wineries in the area. It’s clean, quaint and comfortable. This was not our first time staying here and it definitely won’t be our last. If you’re looking for peace and quiet or a home base for exploring all the fun in the area, this is the place.

Girls Trip

The property is showing it’s age and lack of updates. Parking was not as described in the listing. Check in was a nightmare as the owner sent the wrong lock box code to my email. We waited over 3 hours for the property manager to respond to my several calls and text messages. Check in was supposed to be at 4:00 pm. We were finally able to unlock the lock box with the correct code and step into cottage at 7:45 pm. Our trip started with a major frustration which could have been handled considerably more effectively and efficiently, however, it didn’t dampen the spirits of a group of friends celebrating 50 years of friendship.

Getaway Weekend

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway! 5 minutes from beach, 5 minutes from Geneva on the Lake. the cottage was very quiet, clean, and had a beautiful view. Loved the sunset! Only 1 thing I would change is to trim the bushes in front of the deck to expand the view of the lake. Overall, I would give it 5 stars and look forward to returning!!

Family weekend girls gathering

We soaked in the beautiful lake view and had coffee on the roomy deck in mornings. We did some shopping and visited some beautiful wineries! This was definitely a beautiful place to unplug and catch up on reading , play games and do puzzles!

Perfect Getaway Spot

This was our second stay at this quaint little cottage on Lake Erie. It is so comfortable, clean, quiet and relaxing with beautiful views of the lake and sunsets. We love the proximity to the wineries in the area and have also enjoyed exploring several covered bridges. The property manager was available when needed and very hospitable. All in all, it’s the perfect place to unwind and we’ll be back!
