Stay at one of the most unique and stunning vacation rentals in the Smoky Mountains! The "Appalachian Container Cabin" is a modern tiny home with an unparalleled view overlooking the Appalachian Trail, built out of shipping containers, and was recently featured on the new HGTV/DIY show "Containables". The cabin is located at the end of private road deep within the Nantahala National Forest, but located conveniently between Franklin, North Carolina and Clayton, Georgia.
The interior of this modern cabin is thoughtfully designed and includes one queen bed and three bunk beds. It's well designed for a couple with small kids. If you have more than one couple, the sleeping space will be the limiting factor. An additional person could sleep comfortably on the couch or you could camp outside on the deck or by the firepit.

The cabin was perfect for our stay. The views are magnificent. We loved hanging out on the deck or at the firepit. It is also conveniently located to many activities. I loved the small historic districts of the nearby towns.
Nick was the perfect host and answered all our questions immediately.
I highly recommend this cabin!
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property! The top deck is perfect for stargazing, and the view is beautiful no matter what time of day. It is true, we did spend most of our time on the back patio just looking at the beautiful mountains!
Nick provided great recommendations as well- we went to Julep Farms for brunch (just amazing!) and hung out at Highlands the rest of the day.
It was well communicated to us, but the road leading up to the property was pretty steep but nothing we couldn't handle. Also communicated to us- no service on the mountain but plenty of wifi.
Would definitely recommend this property to anyone, but would be perfect for a couple.
Perfect weekend get away in a unique and awesome container cabin. Amazing views, fishing, waterfalls, cooking on the griddle, fires, friends and fun. Could not have been any better. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
This was my first time to see fall colors and it was the perfect spot
Surrounded by trees and mountains in this gorgeous container home we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay!
We had plans to go for a hike or explore, but once we arrived at the cabin, all those plans fell away. We were content to just sit inside and out and enjoy the views. The cabin was well stocked and we didn't feel like anything was missing or lacking.
The view, the property, the solitude... I could pretend I was the only person for miles. The outside world just fell away. The host was readily available and checked in to make sure everything was going ok. Three days was not enough.
This is the place to stay! The views are like no other! I reviewed so many listing and none compare. This is a top notch incredible location! The container cabin is such a modern yet deep woods memorable stay! Bring your camera for photos! You’ll always remember your stay at the container cabin!
We loved the remoteness; the views were spectacular; and the owner very responsive. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Amazing cabin with beautiful views and exceptional service
This is our second time renting this container cabin and we would definitely come back again. We had a little trouble reaching it as it had rained and we do not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Needless to say, my Prius has never been muddier but help was very swiftly on the way. The owner is super-accessible as was his rental manager. We were picked up and taken up the mountain, brought groceries, and by the next day, they had the road graveled enough for even a Prius to get up. Frankly, I wouldn't have minded being stranded even longer. The firepit is awesome and we could have stared at that view for many more days. Overall just like last time, we are very happy with our stay.

Pictures don't do the view justice, it is amazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return in a heartbeat. This is a beautiful small space that feels much larger than it really is...the numerous windows and abudant outdoor space makes it super comfortable. The firepit is huge! We had a blast and highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a simple, peaceful and nature filled gettaway. The owners are super helpful and accomodating as well. Two thumbs WAY up!

Fun little hideaway with a view!
Our family of four had the best time in this well appointed container home with big views, lots of style and easy access to great hiking! The large decks and sweeping views of the Blue Ridge mountains did not disappoint and the kids loved the bunk beds and s’mores by the fire pit! We will be back!

Why they chose this property
There are a lot of beautiful places in the Appalachian mountains, but one of the most amazing views is just out your back door. You can watch a thunderstorm roll through over the Appalachian trail in the distance, enjoy a blazing sunset after dinner, gaze at the Milky Way and brilliant stars at night, roast marshmallows by the fire or enjoy a hike through our 100 year hardwood forest on top of our mountain.
