My wife and I were fortunate to find this place almost at the last moment and there are no regrets. We arrived in the evening and Marilyn greeted us ,showed us around and was very helpful. The next morning we then realized the beautiful bayside view. The home was everything advertised. Very clean, the bedrooms were large and spacious, viewing out to the bay was enjoyed both indoors out of the windows or outdoors on the deck or under the Tiki hut. Every evening at sunset there was a lady who would blow a Conch shell to announce the event, with everyone gathered clapping when she was done- amazing ,we and everyone around looked forward every night! I fished off the dock almost daily and caught small Grunts and mangrove snapper, we saw Tarpon swim by,manatee, nurse sharks, and of course the pelicans and Ibis. I would recommend to any fishermen/women to try out Bud and Mary's about 20 miles south. They have a boat that goes out everyday @9:30 and returns at 3 for $70 each. They supply all the tackle, bait, etc, you bring your lunch and beverages-don't forget sunblock. My friend and I caught our limit (10ea.) of yellowtail and that night we took the wives and our cleaned fish to Hog Heaven a local restaurant, they cook them and supply fries ,and fixings for $10 a head- very good deal for the Keys. The owner Greg who I contacted prior to and after arriving was always helpful whenever we spoke. After finding out that I was a fishing enthusiast, the next day 2 kayaks arrived that he found locally.1 of them a fishing kayak, the other a 2-person, ( already a kayak there when we arrived). You can't beat that service!! My wife enjoys kayaking more than I do so she was out more than me.
I could go on describing our stay, but I'll just end with a thanks to Greg and to say I would highly recommend this stay to anyone who wants relaxation and beauty,-this is the place. We will hopefully be back next year if the stars align.
