About this property

2 Bed/2 Bath on 1/4 acre w/fenced yard, short walk to 40th thru rolling dunes.

The cottage is 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 925 square feet. The first floor bedroom has a Queen Size bed and en suite bathroom with bathtub. The second floor bedroom has a King Size bed and bathroom with shower.

A 50" 4K flat screen TV with cable and Wi-Fi, a fully stocked renovated kitchen with dishwasher and ice-maker, a private deck, outdoor shower, fenced backyard and outdoor grill complete the offering. We also offer a level 2 electric car charger.

We are two houses away from the Linda Loring Nature Reserve - https://llnf.org/ - a 275 acre preserve that sits between our house and 40th Pole Beach, with a winding Beach Path for gorgeous and relaxing walks through the meadows leading to the ocean. 40th Pole is on the north side of island, meaning tranquil waters, perfect for kids to swim in during the day and smores and bonfires at night.

The cottage is in a family friendly area on a quarter acre of land. The back is entirely fenced so if you have a dog, you can let them out through the back door and let them play in the yard. There are privacy hedges surrounding the front of the cottage.

We live in the main house with our two labs and stay out of your way during your stay (though if you discover you need any items not in the cottage or recommendations, we are happy to oblige).

(Note: We move into the cottage during high season and rent out the main house, so if you need more space than the cottage provides, please check out the other listing https://www.vrbo.com/4745951ha )

As Gallie C, a guest from this past season wrote in a review on another site:

"This is a fabulous house and location! My family and I have rented and stayed here before in the main house. Perfect location and amenities! Our family's most memorable stay while on ACK! The children loved biking in the safe neighborhood, we explored all the paths to the beach and the house was lovely. Private and away from the hustle and bustle of town yet perfect location to scoot right in for shopping and dining. We would definitely rent again and recommend!"

This property comes with rights to use the Fishers Landing Association tennis courts and basketball half-court.

Close proximity to 40th Pole Beach, Madaket Beach, Head of Plains Beach, the bike path, shuttle stop (Island Shuttle free for 2024!), Millie's restaurant, Smith's Point, and famous west end sunsets! And with town Historic District and the modern Stop & Shop about 4 miles away, you'll be close to shopping or dining out in world-class restaurants.

What really makes this property special is the location - during the summer, if you're not in the mood to deal with crowds, you don't have to. Start the week by loading up on supplies at Stop and Shop, Meat&Fish, the local fishmonger and/or Bartlett Farms. You can then cook at home, walk straight to a quiet beach during the day, and hang out on the deck watching the pitch black starry sky at night.

Fishers Landing is surrounded by tall pine trees so at night, you hear the gentle breeze whooshing through the branches along with the sound of ocean waves. It is serenity at its finest. You'll also likely see many deer and bunnies that make the nature preserve their home.

NOTE: We also have available to rent a 3 bed/2.5 bath house available in July and August (HA 4746520), and a single family 3 bed/2.5 bath house with private fenced yard (also dog friendly) a short walk to Harvard University and MIT (HA 4785434) The Cambridge house is available year round.

For returning guests only, we offer significant discounts when booking with us directly via the contact information in your welcome packet.

Mike was very hospitable! Property was Nantucket lovely: sunny; open floor plan; clean; and in a small community setting with a 1 mile walk to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, etc. There were lots of towels/beach chairs/beach toys and close to Millie’s and Madaket Beach with great bike paths. Enjoy!

Perfect pet friendly Nantucket hideaway!
I hesitate to leave a review at all with fear that this rental will be discovered, but couldn’t go without singing its praises! My husband and I felt perfectly at home from the moment we arrived. With a fenced in backyard, there was plenty of room for our dog to run around. The house was clean, comfortable, and had more than enough space for us two. Mike, the host, was incredibly friendly, professional, and respectful of our privacy. He gave us great recommendations on restaurants and markets. We took advantage of the fresh meat and seafood you can buy on the island, and cooked several of our dinners on the house’s grill. The location was excellent too—in a quiet neighborhood and close to our favorite beaches in Eel Point and Madaket. This was without a doubt the best time we’ve ever had in Nantucket. Cannot wait to visit again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Eel Point Cottage. It had everything that we needed.
We loved our stay at the Eel Point Cottage, short hike to a remote beach within a nature a preserve. Mike and Dave have really thought of everything that one would need to relax. Close to town, great sunsets at a Madaket and restaurants in town.

Twenty-five years ago, I first traveled to Nantucket, aka the Grey Lady. I fell in love with her and was able to make a dream come true this year by buying a very special home on the island. I hope you'll be my guest and fall in love too!

Why they chose this property

Just out of graduate school, I worked on Nantucket and rented a small cottage in Fishers Landing. I loved that it was quiet and off the beaten path, and I loved even more that Fisher's Landing bordered the Linda Loring Nature Preserve with a private path from my cottage to 40th Pole Beach, my favorite beach on Nantucket which was also known mostly to locals. Every day I would take a stroll through the moors and then spend time on the ocean, seeing few people during my walk. It was relaxing, beautiful and how Nantucket was meant to be appreciated, away from the all the summer crowds.

My partner and I are blessed to finally have the opportunity to own our own home, and we have designed it to be the retreat we always dreamed of. Having stayed in many summer rentals through the years (and suffered in some of them), we've made our home(s) into the properties wished we could have found ourselves - clean, fresh, open, relaxing with comfort and convenience in mind.

We look forward to sharing our home with you so you may enjoy the benefits (and secrets) of Fishers Landing, Linda Loring Nature Preserve and 40th Pole Beach, and of course a nice walk or very short drive to enjoy the Madaket sunsets.

What makes this property unique

Our home is 2 houses down from the entry to the private beach path through the moors of Linda Loring Nature Preserve. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach. If you prefer to drive, you can reach the beach by car by driving along a sandy road.

Fishers Landing is surrounded by tall pine trees so at night, you hear the gentle breeze whooshing through the branches along with the sound of ocean waves. It is serenity at its finest. You'll also likely see many deer and bunnies that make the nature preserve their home.

We are also close to Madaket Beach if you'd like to view the best sunsets on the island.

The bike path connect to Fisher's Landing, and there is a shuttle stop too.

The house includes access to two tennis courts, a basketball court and other amenities.
