About this property

I personally built this stunning handcrafted log home back in 1998. It features over 500' of frontage on beautiful, peaceful Sadawga Lake, in the Town of Whitingham, set on eight acres at the end of a half mile long, private dirt road. Two sided covered porch, gas grille, table with chairs and air swing to relax and enjoy the lake views. There are four kayaks there for your use. Great fishing, hiking, kayaking, and the peace and quiet we all deserve.

Inside the cabin, there is a floor to ceiling field-stone fireplace in the spacious and ultra comfortable living room, gorgeous cherry and maple wood floors handcrafted from the trees off my property, full kitchen and bath, and bedroom with one queen and two twin beds. Master bedroom loft featuring hot tub, King Size Log Bed, and half bath.

Inside you will find two sets of triple french doors in the living room that give you beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Privacy abounds at the end of the dirt road, home is surrounded by woods and water.

For your winter sports, we are less than 30 minutes to excellent skiing at Mt Snow, and we have direct access to the VAST snowmobile trail system, right off the property.

Great weekend away!

This place was magical! Great quiet location. The house had all the amenities you could ask for to stay comfortably. The host was great to communicate with and to make check in and check out smooth. Will be returning soon!

Anniversary Retreat

From the moment we arrived we felt the magic. So peaceful we didn’t make it past the rocker on the porch and just sat and soaked in the sun and the breeze and the beautiful lake. Bob the builder picked the perfect spot. We then headed out on the kayaks for a delightful spin around the lake back in time to barbecue and eat appetizers and watch the sunset. Cozy by the fire for dinner and then movie night in the loft….next day sunrise paddle then breakfast on the porch and hiking and exploring the nature preserve and catamounts trails from Harriman to some rest. Some dricing arounf and back fro another enchanted evening. This morning s paddle in among the floating islands rewarded us with cranberries and then over th the preserve where we saw an eagle fishing….truly magical. Cant wait to come back!!! It was wonderful! The location can’t get any better. Very private, quiet, gorgeous lake view. Nice to have a Hot tub in the bedroom. We hope to return.

Perfect getaway

Winter Getaway

Fantastic! We were looking for someplace to get away from the hustle of everyday life and just relax for the weekend. I told Bob I was looking for a place to light a fire and read a book. He said this was the spot. What an understatement! I did light the fireplace but never got to the book. This place is magical, spent an entire day looking out the window at the frozen pond, wilderness and ice fisherman. Bob is a great host, he truly made us feel at home.

What a wonderful, amazing, beautiful cabin, location, and host❤️ This exceeded any other possible place to rent. Perfect Honeymoon getaway

Home was spectacular, felt right at home. Host was fantastic, made us feel welcome. Location great, quiet yet easily accessible. Wonderful vacation

The cabin is beautiful and clean. We loved kayaking, hiking, birding and relaxing on this peaceful and wooded property. There are some great restaurants and little shops in town. The owner was responsive and friendly. We would highly recommend this cabin and are already wistfully talking about when we can return some day!

Lake House Gem

Bobs property is in a terrific spot on the lake. The house looks even better in person than it does in the pictures and Bob is a very friendly person to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place for a small group

A beautiful retreat!

Trust me, you want to stay here! Even more beautiful in person, this extraordinary log home is perfectly situated with beautiful lakefront views and more peace & privacy than you could wish for. We fished, kayaked, and spent some great quality time together with our young boys. Bob is so pleasant and accomodating, we will definitely be back.

Girls Weekend at the Lake

We went for a girls weekend and had a wonderful time. The property was beautiful and like other reviewers have said - the pictures do not do it justice. Bob was a pleasure to work with and was available and accommodating. We spent a day on the lake floating, kayaking and swimming and made s'mores by the fire at night. There is a screened in gazebo which we used to keep our food in while we hung out by the lake. Super convenient for keeping bugs away. We went into town for dinner one night and it was quaint. Not a bustling nightlife but this is a wonderful place to relax and recharge. Looking forward to coming back with my family this time and seeing if we can catch some nice fish!

Relaxing and peaceful

We had such a great stay here. The location is the BEST. So private, you can't see any other houses unless you go down to the shore. Sitting on the porch in the hammock swing was quiet and tranquil. We loved using the firepit down by the water, the kayaks with paddles and life vests, and the gas grill on the porch. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house is so comfortable and clean. With the AC we stayed nice and cool even during some very hot and muggy weather. One of the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed in!

Bob’s cabin was a slice of heaven for our family. The screened in gazebo and kayaks were great, and the cabin itself is gorgeous. We went on fun hikes nearby and enjoyed grilling and cooking at the cabin too. Thank you!
