About this property
Romantic 2 Bed-2 Baths Condo w Views of Columbia
Classic Victorian Condo newly remodeled with Columbia River View and 9” Ceiling. Original 1904 fir floors.
Romantic Bedroom with mirrored closet doors – Living Room – Den/extra room with fold-out couch -fully equipped kitchen - 2 full baths (1 shower, 1 jacuzzi tub). Can sleep 4, but 2 people would be more comfortable in it to allow room to stretch out.
Tastefully decorated with everything you'll need on a peaceful and relaxing vacation in Astoria. The unit is furnished as a second home with a fully equipped kitchen (stove, full size fridge, microwave, coffee maker)
The layout and design of the unit makes it accessible for mobility impaired guests.
Views of the river, territorial view of the city - great sunsets. (I love to sit on the sofa or on the lawn and read facing the river; I pause every so often to watch the big ships go by.)
Close to the house, nature abounds in many forms :
great hiking trails up the hill towards the Astoria Column; the River walk along the Columbia into the city or towards the fishing harbor -- where the sea lions hang out (you can hear them from your bed during the night). Bike the steep forested trails for outdoor adventures. Don't be surprised to see a deer on the neighbors' lawn.
Check out the Columbia River from the house to see what ships had moored, gone upriver or out to sea. Or watch the ships go by from your Jacuzzi bath.
Drive a short distance to down town for shopping, or Sunday market and open air summer concerts and festivals (e.g. wine tasting, crab festival, Scandinavian festival...). Go to Liberty Theater for a step back in time. Enjoy great restaurants, pubs, breweries - many of them – for all budgets; Astoria is famous for freshest sea fare skillfully prepared, as it is a fishermen paradise.
CLOSE TO :
Starbucks – for your favorite coffee and pastry; AND
Safeway - for your routine shopping needs or for their Deli/Bakery (with a “view”) – if you do not want to cook one single day during your stay.

About the host
Hosted by Joana Olaru

Health care professional/businesswoman born in Europe and living in Portland, bought the house with the desire to retire in Astoria, away from the frantic life-style of a bigger city.
Loved restoring - what used to be a historical - 1904 Victorian and learning about the rich history of Astoria.

Why they chose this property
This Old Victorian house speaks to my soul. My husband and I love going to the coast for a weekend to relax, refresh and rejuvenate.
What makes this property unique
Laid back life style – away from the big city, but still a vital community all year long with a stunning architecture reminiscing of San Francisco; Victorian houses (you will be vacationing in one ) – rich history, proximity to a magnificent body of water – the great Columbia; really close drive to beaches – 15 min to Fort Stevens, 20 minutes to Cannon Beach – you can drive every day to another beach and come back home to relax.
