Not the apartment in the photo

The Hotel is fabulous and the pools are super…but if you’re expecting the apartment to be like the photo, then you’ll be disappointed. As the receptionist told us- “they’re just STOCK photos”… The apartment we got, needed some furniture adding to make it feel more VRBO style…it just had beds, a table and a sofa (maybe that is Miami minimalist style) Also small things like the dishwasher handle just fell off, shower door handles lose…. In summary - just a little apartment TLC needed. 👍 rest of hotel / complex was 👍

8 day stay for medical reasons at Mt Sinai hospital. No water on day one and day four. At 4AM, Water leak through ceiling light in master bath...danger...water and electrical don't mix...maintenance not available until 7AM (they connected at noon and could not resolve). At 4:30 AM, the night clerk said there was nothing they could do. Manager could be contacted at 9AM (never came in that day at all and never reached out to explain, apologize, etc.) Several lights do not work Ratings and reviews suggested more than the reality of this unit. Was moved to another unit. Now water one day. Very worn unit. Parking, pool drinks, etc. all separate billings from hotel. No response from owner on pleas for help, several messages Alexander Hotel could not respond because this was a "third party billing"--VRBO No financial credits for SIGNIFICANT inconveniences. Would like to hear from The Alexander Hotel, VRBO and/or the owner in response to the above concerns and issues.

Schöne Lage

Die Lage ist wunderbar. Es kommen hohe Zusatzkosten durch das parken und die Reinigung dazu. Erst kurz vor der Anreise teilte man uns mit, dass im Gebäude eine Baustelle ist. Der Laminatboden ist heruntergekommen.

Lovely stay.

Sylvia is a wonderful host and very responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unit and would not hesitate to return. The views were beautiful. In one direction you see the ocean. In the other direction you see the Intercoastal and the Miami skyline. There is a beautiful ocean walk right behind the hotel. Perfect for walking, running, biking, etc. We used it almost every day. Parking was easy at the municipal lot two blocks away and much cheaper than valet. We paid $10.00 per day rather than the $30 valet charge. Be aware that if you leave on a sunny day, when others are flocking to the beach, you may lose your parking spot. Other reviews mentioned concerns about slow elevators. We never had a problem with them. Check in time and departure time are obviously going to be busy times at the elevators but we never had to wait more than a few minutes. The beds were comfortable, the furniture was comfortable. Check in was easy. Because we knew this was a rental unit and not a "hotel room" we came prepared to replace any items that may have run out during our stay. There is a Publix Store nearby to purchase whatever you may need. The front desk will not provide additional towels. Having seen this concern in a previous review, I just brought some of my own. There is a washer and dryer on the floor. Be sure to bring quarters as they will not provide them at the front desk. There have been some updates to the condo itself. Other areas (bathrooms) of the unit were older but adequate. I look forward to returning to Miami Beach and would not hesitate to book this unit again. Thank you Sylvia!

Nice apartment

This is a nice 2 bedroom apt north of South Beach. The complex was spacious with a beautiful view of the beach on one side and marina on the other. Pool and access to beach is right there! There was a little bit of noise from the work being done in the building but we didn’t mind. Only downside for us is that access to food was a ways away. But overall we were happy with our stay and our host was very responsive and helpful! Will def. Recommend.

Problems

We walked into the unit & kitchen sink was running & toilets hadn’t been flushed. Floors were visibly dirty. Linens were missing in bathroom & hotel desk staff was less than helpful. Couch torn on armrest, garbage can broken, electrical plug in in master bath with wires exposed. Great location & views. Well stocked supply of beach gear was great. Property manager Sylvia was responsive to our concerns. The property needs to be deep cleaned & updated.

Not what we expected.

My friends and I weren’t fans of our stay in this suite at the Alexander Hotel. The property owner tried to help by communicating with the hotel staff for us, but it just didn’t work out since the hotel staff wouldn’t treat us like regular guest since we booked through a private reservation. They have the most unhelpful staff of any hotel I’ve ever been to. We didn’t have enough washcloths in our suite for everyone, and they wouldn’t even give us 1 extra washcloth. They basically told us that isn’t their problem since we booked through private reservations. Another big reason we didn’t enjoy our stay at this suite is because most of the week we were without hot water. My friends and I will never stay at a Vrbo in this hotel ever again.

Great condo but Resort was lacking

The property owner was great. Great communication and the condo was awesome. The AC went out on the last day but that wasn’t the property owners fault. The resort itself was lacking. Was told the bar was open until 10 but when we went down at 8 they were closed. The elevators were a pain, a lot of people using them and they seemed to have a mind of their own on which floor you went to. Views were amazing and beach access was great. Only problem was the lack of food options nearby.

Great location. Close enough to South Beach and attractions and far enough to stay away from “the noise.” Renovation wasn’t an issue. Property staff made it fee like they were going out of there way for simple questions and tasks because we “booked independently” and not direct. The personalized welcome note was a nice touch.

Alexander stay

Pleasant stay in 1107. Clean & updated. Beautiful view from deck. Construction outside was not bothersome. Drinks are a little expensive, but a lot of Miami is the same. Staff were pleasant. A lot of kids at pool. Beach was beautiful and fairly quiet.

Not Impressed

The condo unit itself was just ok, it was not overally clean and is in need of some updating. The master bedroom bed was not comfortable. The bluiding the unit is in is disgusting and just gross. The check in process was a pain in the butt no one at the front desk knew what was going and I finally fot a hold of the owner to help with the process. This was my first VRBO and I am not sure I will go that route again. I would not recommend this unit to anyone. Not worth the money.

A beautiful apartment in a great spot.

This is a lovely location close to everything with good cheap or free public transportation and a great beach. The ongoing repairs both inside and out are the only downside and I'm sure temporary. We wholeheartedly enjoyed it.

Modern Mid-Beach Condo

We had a lovely stay at this mid-beach condo......Silvia was very easy to work with and responsive with my questions. The condo is very nice and well-appointed, with really beautiful views. Beds were comfortable and having sample-sized shampoos and soaps, etc. was a very nice touch. As an aside, my sons and husband loved the empanadas for sale in the first floor gift shop, just fantastic.

Located directly on the beach with 2 beautiful fresh water swimming pools this resort offers a great getaway. We are just a 10 minute walk to famous hotels such as Fontainebleau and Eden Roc and a 10 minute drive to Lincoln Road for all food and shopping.We are located just 15 min drive to South Beach.
