Good Experience
#1 the house was as advertised. #2 it was clean. #3 it had what we needed. #4 the loction was good for us, it is way out in the country. #5 the furniture was a mixture of antiques and new, the combination was both attractive and comfortable.

Great two family house.
This listing had it all. Close proximity to hiking, state parks, and quiet at the house. It was a really good house for having two families. The 4 person bunk room was great. Everyone wins!

Great for Family
Comfortable for an extended family Easter weekend. Our daughter is a freshman at Mars Hill University. Her athletic schedule was so that she could not make it home for the holiday so we came to her. The location was great. The dogs LOVED the yard and pasture. We saw a bunny, cows, birds, and turkeys, outside the windows or from the covered porches. We hope to be back soon!

Perfect for a Family Gathering!
From the moment that we arrived, to when we left, we were enchanted by the property. We had eight adults and were more than comfortable. The house looked as pictured and was even more beautiful. The hot tub was not working right because we think that the filter may have been messed up but other than that it was a lovely experience. I think we will likely come back to the same property in a couple of years if we can. It was that incredible!

Marshall Cottage- What a treasure!
The Marshall Cottage was the perfect location for our family get-together! The Owners are very kind and welcoming and provide a very clean and comfortable accommodation in a picturesque place. We enjoyed spending time outside playing games in the yard next to our very own babbling brooke. We hiked the nearby mountain trails with the gracious help of the owners. We had plenty of room and all the amenities needed to cook and entertain. Incredibly restful experience- in the morning you can take your pick of porches to enjoy the views, fresh air and a cup of coffee. We easily traveled into Asheville one day for a Biltmore tour. We would love to return and stay longer! Thank you!

Beyond Our Expectations
My wife wanted mountains and snow for her birthday event and our tribe is big on eating together so when I saw a dining table that could accommodate all twelve of us at once I was sold. What we found was more than perfect in accommodating our family. Comfortable and perfectly set bedrooms for six adults and six children 2, 5,7,8,11 and 13. Upstairs master is on J&J bathroom which was perfect for the parents of the 2,5,8 where the 2 year old was in a p&p with mom and dad and the brothers shared a wide birth in the mirrored bunk beds. The 13 y/o had a nice full lower birth to himself and was quite content. We were here 2/4-2/7 and the nights were in their 20s and yet we used the outdoor fireplace as well as the hot tub lol!! The indoor fireplace is enclosed like a pot belly but more accommodating and has a greater surface are (caution it does get hot on the surface) it is raised up a few inches so it has a “natural” perimeter we felt like it was far superior than having an open fireplace and felt much safer with little ones as well as managing the fire overall. The house is just far enough off the main road to provide a deep country feeling without having to drive many miles down narrow country roads. The location is 30 minutes from the Biltmore Home where we spent the better part of our Saturday and took advantage of the many dining options in Asheville. On our second full day we went hiking because that is what we do and my Daughter found an excellent hike to a mountain peak 15 minutes from the house on the Smith Farm (check it out on AllTrails)

Ramsey Brothers Farm Cabin
We had a great time at the Ramsey Brothers Farm Cabin. The home was cabin, welcoming and spacious considering that there were 8 family members. The kitchen and eating area were more than ample. The hot tub was also a hit. Suggestions for making the experience better would include providing more laundry soap, bathroom toiletries and dish washer soap. Six pods of laundry soap were not sufficient for 8 people for 7 days. The only toiletries provided were one small motel size hand soap bar for bathing in each bathroom and there was no soap for the dish washer. We had issues with the kitchen door electronic lock. It worked correctly when we arrived, but after that it would lock, but not unlock when given the provided code. The property manager gave us a new code to use while we were there. There was an issue with the kitchen faucet as well. It would give a steady stream or spray the first day, but then would not switch from spray back to stream. Again the property manager was responsive in attempting to correct the issue, but was unsuccessful in providing a permanent fix. This was more a nuisance than a real problem.

Marshall House
It was a beautiful stay, the property is breathtaking, especially in the mornings at sunrise. We had plenty of room, it was 10 of us there for Wilderness Fusion. We each had plenty of space on the land to just sit and be with ourselves if we chose. It was a 25 min ride away. The grill was perfect as we had our meals together. The hot tub was perfect and loved that both areas were covered. We visited during storm Elsa, where it rained quite a bit but still hot;) I can't say enough about the house. The check in was easy, it was accessing the information that was confusing. I reserved it through VRBO where it said the check in was 30 days prior, the property doesn't use the messaging so we had to call to find out the local manager. We never wanted for anything during our stay! We will return, because it's soooo beautiful.

A wonderful mountain getaway for the whole family
This restored farmhouse about 20 miles north of Asheville is perfect for a quiet family vacation. My wife and I stayed for a week along with our 2 adult children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren ranging from ages 3 to 10. The kids loved playing in the huge yard and around the pond across the street. They chased lightening bugs every night and the large hot tub was a favorite with everyone, especially after hiking in the nearby trails. The bedrooms are large and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is well furnished and the dining table is huge! Even with our large group we had empty chairs left over. There's a big flat screen HDTV in the living room and you can stream channels you subscribe too, although we brought our own streaming device. If you're looking for a quiet getaway I highly recommend this house.

Perfect
It was the images of the big kitchen that sold it for me. The place exceeded our expectations. Considering how old the place is, it was superb (and I am very picky). Nice layouts of the rooms, allowing privacy between the three bedrooms that have the king and queen beds. The setting was so beautiful.

Wonderful!
This was one of our favorite vacation rentals. We're hoping to come back during the summer to enjoy the creek but absolutely loved the brisk fall days there as well. We had 6 adults, 2 kids, and a dog. Plenty of room for us all. Such a nicely appointed kitchen -- we had everything we needed and more. The caretakers provided more firewood than we could burn which is saying a lot because we had a constant fire going in the indoor fireplace and had fires every night in the outdoor fireplace. Each night we would watch the shooting stars (there's no light diffusing the night sky views so it's absolutely beautiful and still). We also had a nightly visitor, Brutus, come each night to check-in on us. Brutus is a Great Pyrenees that works a neighboring farm during the day (keeping the animals safe) and then visits the valley neighbors at night. He was a gentle giant - my kids loved him. I'd highly recommend this place to families that want a taste of the country in their vacation. Cows in the backyard, old tobacco barns to explore, trails on the property. This place had it all.
